《Grand Magic Games: Fairy Tail X Magi Crossover》Chapter 22

As Fairy Tail heard the crowd cheer for Jura, Levy sweat dropped.
"They really like that Jura person." Levy said.
"Haven't you heard of him, Levy? He's one of the 10 Wizard Saints." Jet said.
"That's the same title as our Master." Droy said while eating a hotdog.
Meanwhile, Mavis had an emotionless face. "Aw, don't make that face. We'll be fine, 1st Master!" Makarov said with a smile. "Our guy held that title once, too. You could say they're evenly matched." However, as he saw her trembling, he started to sweat nervously. "1st Master...?"
"I-I would like to use the little girl's room."
"But you're a ghost!" Magi and Fairy Tail said.
"How can a ghost go to the bathroom?" Alibaba asked.
"Beats me..." Sin said.
"Fascinating..." Kouen looked at Mavis like she was the only thing that held his attention.
"I don't like that look he's giving..." Shuddering, Alibaba scooted away from Kouen.
"Me either..." All of Magi shuddered. 'Note: don't ever get Kouen's interest!'
Looking towards Jellal, Erza frowned. 'Jellal...will you be all right?'
Meanwhile, Ultear looked into her orb, her eyes widening. "What?! Jellal is fighting?!"
"He won't give himself away, will he?" Meredy asked.
Sweating, Ultear looked away. "I pray he's not that stupid. It should be fine, as long as he doesn't try to show off for Erza."
As Chapati announce their names, he said, "Let the final match of the day begin!"
Levitating his staffs in the air, Jellal narrowed his eyes towards Jura. 'I'll do what I can...for Fairy Tail." Charging towards him, he held one of the staffs. 'And so, I'll win this!'
However, Jura signaled his hand towards the left, making the ground rise. Even so, Jellal jumped over each of them. Smirking, Jura created more right under Jellal while he was in the air. Before he could react, they were sent his way. However, he dodged each.
Landing on one, he ran towards Jura while he let his staves surround Jura. "5-Layered Magic Circle: Sacred Song!" Creating runes above Jura's head, he released a beam.

"Jura!" Sherria yelled.
"Don't worry about him." Lyon smirked. 'Unfortunately for Sora's team...I believe that Jura is the greatest wizard in Fiore.'
As the dust cleared away, Jura sent a hand made of earth towards Jellal. However, this didn't stop Jellal. "3-Layered Magic Circle: Mirror Water!" Sending his attack back at Jura, Jura held two fingers towards the fist, deflecting it, and sending right back at Jellal.
"He deflected it!" Magi, besides Kouen and Morg who tried to hold their composure, eyes widened.
"Amazing!" Alibaba said.
"Now, that's someone that should be a General!" Sin smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. If he had a chance, he would like to request Jura to be his new General.
As Team B saw Jellal get sent back from the force of the hit, Sora shouted, "C'mon, Mystogan! Show 'em the power of Fairy Tail!"
"Look at that power! They didn't make him one of the 10 Wizard Saints for nothing!" Chapati said.
Landing, Jellal puffed out some oxygen. 'I should have known I couldn't beat him with borrowed magic.' Looking at Jura, his left eye glowed. "Meteor!" Surrounded by his Heavenly Body Magic, he traveled at high speeds.
Running around Jura, Jura watched him as Jellal ran on the walls. Eyes widening, he said, "That's..." Before Jellal could puncture Jura with his attacks, Jura deflected it. "Iron Rock Wall!" With that, he made a wall made of rock rise.
However, Jellal cracked the wall and attacked Jura. As Jura screamed, he watched his wall crumble. Having an idea come to his head, he sent the blocks of earth towards Jellal. As one hit Jellal, he was sent downwards.
Using his chance, Jellal finally let the magic circle appear, confusing the crowd.
"A-a magic circle?! In the sky?!"
"When did he do that?!"
"Did he draw it while he dodged those attacks?"
While Jellal was in the air, he looked towards Jura. "7 Stars, pass your judgment upon him! Grand Chariot!" Placing both arms on top of each other, his top hand only had the index and middle fingers spread out. Summoning and connecting 7 Magic Seals in front of him, he created a constellation. 'Forgive me, Ultear, but I'm going to do it.'

Taking a closer look at the orb, Ultear and Meredy panicked.
"Just a-! Jellal!" Ultear said.
"No! If you use that spell, you'll totally blow your cover!" Meredy said.
"True Heavenly Body Magic: Sema!" Bowing down, Jellal pointed his hands downwards. All of his fingers were closed except the index and middle fingers. However, before he could complete the spell, he stopped and covered his mouth with his hands. "My...my tongue..." Screaming, he coughed. "Hot!"
"Eeeeehhhh?!" Fairy Tail Teams and Magi said.
Meanwhile, Ultear shoved hot peppers into Meredy's mouth as she shared a Sensory Link with Jellal. "Here, have some more peppers!"
"They're too spice...!"
"What in blue blazes happened here?! Mystogan has begun to writhe in agony!" Chapati announced.
Next, Ultear tickled Meredy. "How about some of this?" Resulting in Meredy laughing and demanding her to stop, which Jellal laughed, too.
"And now, he's laughing hysterically!"
As Ultear did more things to 'Jellal', he finally reached his limit. Falling down, Jellal was out-cold. As everyone saw this, their eyes popped out and their jaws dropped.
"He's down! I-I don't know what happened, but Mystogan is down!"
Finally letting her go, Ultear turned away. "Sorry about that, but we can't let Jellal attract too much attention." Meredy was on the ground, trembling.
"And the winner is Jura Neekis of Lamia Scale!"
"D-does that count?" Jura said as he was trembling.
"And that concludes day 1 of the Grand Magic Games!"
"What was that?!"
"Is Fairy Tail just here for comic relief?!"
"And here are the rankings after today's games!" Team B was still in 7th while A was in 8th.
"It is only the 1st day. I hope we see some rank rehearsals starting tomorrow." Yajima said.
"My Guild still has a chance of winning this. I can't wait for tomorrow." Jenny smirked.
"Thank you for joining me today, Yajima. Jenny."
"My pleasure."
"See you all tomorrow!"
As Jellal looked at the ground, he trudged towards his team as he was depressed.
"Honestly...." Erza sighed.
"What happened?!" Natsu asked.
"Meredy, most likely..."
After he walked towards his team, Jellal walked past each of them.
"What the heck were you doing out there?!/You idiot! What do ya think you were doin' out there?!" Gajeel and Sora, who walked up to Jellal, grabbed his shoulders, and rocked him back and forth, yelled.
"Welcome back." Mira smiled brightly.
"Loser." Laxus said.
"I have nothing to say for myself..." Jellal said.
"Is that all you have ta say for yourself?!" Before he could react, Sora hit his head. "If it wasn't for you tryin' to show off to Erza, you would've gotten a point!"
"Sora, give him a break." Mira said.
"...Whatever..." Turning away, Sora crossed her arms over her chest, calming herself down.
"So Team A has 0 points and Team B only has one?!" Jet said.
"This is awful." Levy said.
"I knew we shouldn't have entered these games..." Droy said as he ate.
As Magi saw the crowd laugh at Fairy Tail, they held back their fury.
"Man...Poor Fairy Tail..." Alibaba said.
"I know...I hope Sora can win them some points." Morg said.
"Yeah..." Shaking his head, Aladdin looked towards the sky. "Sora will definitely win the battles!" Nodding, they all wished good luck to Fairy Tail.
Meanwhile, Lucy looked out the window, frowning. 'So ended Day 1 of the Games. We couldn't have gotten off to a worse start.'
However, Charle foresaw something. 'But there was something even more terrible going on behind the scenes. I'm writing this a few days after the Games ended. To my dear friend, Lucy Heartfilia. From Levy McGarden.' Trembling, sweat poured down her forehead. "Wh-what did I just foresee?!"

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
