Chapter twenty eight
"Wow, you managed to kill him? I guess I was right for not underestimating you!"
Nishi gasped in shock and looked above her, "J-Judar!?" She quickly forced herself to stand as he landed on the ground in front of her.
"Hmm... He really was useless, huh? You killed him easily!" Judar frowned at Shinzo's body. "What? Are you surprised?" He directed his attention to Nishi. He could see the sadness and confusion in her eyes as she looked at him.
"W-What are you doing here?!"
"I came to clean up his mess, obviously."
"Did you send him? How'd you..."
"Yeah! It took forever to find him too! Who knew he'd be killed so easy." Judar smiled. He watched Nishi look at Shinzo again and then back at him, sadness still showing in her eyes. Yep... This sucks, just as I thought. Judar sighed lightly, but Nishi didn't notice.
"What do you mean, 'clean up his mess'?" Nishi narrowed her eyes. He's being so cold...How can he just pretend we don't have anything between us?
"This has been the organization's plan all along. Ever since I met you, well, a little after I met you, they've wanted me to get closer to you." Judar began explaining. No...Don't look at me all surprised...dammit.
"S-Seriously?!" Nishi took a shocked step away from him. Then this whole time...
I wasn't lying dammit... I was really hoping that idiot would take care of her... "At first, they wanted you to join them. But that was taking too long, blah, blah, boring details I don't care about," Judar wandered around the field some. "Then they decided killing you is easier."
"Judar..." Nishi tried to find some kind of answer in his eyes, but none was there.

"So! Let's get this over with, yeah? I've got better things to do." Judar pulled out his wand and pointed at Nishi.
Nishi pulled out her wand as well but said, "I don't want to fight you."
"Well, too bad!" Judar shrugged. "Ramz Al-Salos!" He gathered black rukh and turned it into black lightning, sending it down all across the field. Come on..dodge it...
Nishi gasped and ran from the lightning. The only safe place is right where Judar's standing... She ran at the black haired magi and forced him to the ground, knocking his wand from his grip.
"Hey!" Judar squirmed and thrashed around under her weight.
Nishi pinned his arms beside his head and looked down at him, "Why are you doing this?!"
Judar struggled more before he noticed the necklace he'd given her dangling from her neck near his face. She still wears it...?
"Judar! I'm not going to fight you. How can you just act like you don't know me?" Nishi forced him to look at her.
"Get off! This is a serious fight, you can't just pin me down like this!" Judar began struggling again. He looked around the nearby area for his wand, finding just close enough for him to reach.
"Answer me, Judar." Nishi became dead serious and Judar looked at her again as he reached for his wand. "Were you lying this entire time? You never really loved me, did you?"
No. I wasn't lying. "This is no time for stupid questions!" Judar got hold of his wand and used a small wind tornado to send Nishi flying off of him.
She landed several feet away from him on her back, completely in shock. "W-What?!"
"Thalg Al-Salos!"
Nishi panicked and tried to move away as large shards of ice came flying at her. "Shit." She cried out in pain as a shard pierced her stomach. "Dammit..." She panted, turning the ice into water to see the damage.

Judar watched her struggle from afar, a dark look on his face. "Hey!" He called to her, "If you survive, meet in the usual spot." I want to explain...This isn't fair.
Nishi tried to stop the bleeding, but with her other wounds it wasn't working well. She tried to read Judar's expression, was that...sadness? Just for a second I could swear I saw it... "D-Dammit..." I need to get back to Sindria...I could use the teleportation magi Yam showed me... I haven't really mastered it though...It'll take a lot of magoi...
She looked back at her wound again, I can't wait any longer, I'll pass out from blood loss... Nishi searched for Judar but found he wasn't there anymore. Dammit. I've gotta go now!
"Sin!" Nishi yelled as she used a great amount of magoi to teleport herself to Sindria. "H-Help."
"Nishi?!" Both Sinbad and Ja'far exclaimed as their magi collapsed onto the ground, blood already beginning to pool around her.
"Nishi, what happened? Who did this?" Sinbad demanded as he and Ja'far ran over.
"J-Judar...a-attack...ed." Nishi panted, struggling to keep her cautiousness.
"Judar." Sinbad's tone filled with anger. "Nishi, hold on. Ja'far! Get some help!" He ordered.
Nishi panted more and fell onto her side as more blood poured out of her wounds, causing her to black out.

Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming. When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1. Zombies
This is one of three stories that I am offering as a test run. If you like it, then I'll choose to continue working on it. I have a whole plot line ready to explore! What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.
