I jump awake at the feeling of someone pressing their hand against my forehead.

"Jesus!" I yell and roll to my side to see my mother sitting at the edge of my bed and looking down at me concerned.

"What are you doing here mom? I could have hurt you!" I raise my voice at her but she only shrugs.

"You've been asleep all day and almost all night. The Alpha visited me personally to check on you dear." She says and I look to my side and out the window to see that it is pitch black outside and I jump out of bed immediately.

"What time is it?! I have to see Ada she must be so scared I have to go I-" she interrupts me.

"Sit Isaac! Please." She says concerned but I'm still running around looking for my phone and tripping over clothes on the floor.

"Look at yourself. You're a mess. Do you want her to see you like this?" She says and I roll my eyes.

"What should I shave? Like I have time to do that?? Fuck." I see my clock reads 10 at night and I rush to put my shoes on.

"You're starting to smell like a dog." My mom scrunches her nose and I let out a dry laugh.

"Well I am a wolf mom." I say and put on a clean shirt but when I reach for the door her words stop me.

"I already saw her today Isaac." She says and I turn around and look at her confused.

"You visited Ada?" I ask surprised and she pats the spot next to her on the bed and I sit down.

"Io says she won't be awake tonight, another reason why I came tonight to see you." She says and places her hand over mine.

"Isaac I love you. And I'd give anything to see you happy...but this girl." Her voice cracks and I move my hand away.

"You don't want me to be with her?" I say feeling shocked and she shakes her head immediately.

"She's your mate! Darling she's beautiful but look at what she's done to you. If your father was here my god..." she sniffles and wipes away tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

"You were gone for so long, I thought you were dead and now you might as well be. You look like you haven't eaten or showered in days. I've checked your kitchen there's nothing but bags of blood!" She exclaims and i look down at my lap not wanting to argue with her since I know she's right.

"She's changed you and it's not for the better." She says and I nod my head.

"The one who made her a vampire is here, we've captured him. We just need to force him into changing her back and the other few wolves he's infected and I'll be myself again mom. I promise. I just need more time. Trust me." I say and grab both her hands in mine.

"Okay Isaac." She says and squeezes my hands.

"Go shower and shave please. I'll clean up this mess." She says and I smile.

"Mom i can clean my own room." I say and she waves her hand at me.

"Don't get smart with me I've raised you. Now go!" She says with a playful tone and I do as she says and take a much needed hot shower and shave off the annoying stubble growing around my face,I'm amazed at how fast it grew in just a couple days, maybe I should try out a beard. I wonder if Ada would like me with a beard, I wonder if she's thinking about me.

"Mom? Did Io say anything about when Ada would be feeling better?" I ask as I finish getting dressed in the bathroom and when I come out I notice my room is now noticeably cleaner even cleaner then how I would usually organize it.

"Oh I don't know Isaac. She explained to you how she wasn't exactly an expert in restoring her memories." She says straightening my bed and I only sigh and feel my wolf beginning to feel a little anxious inside of me, he longs to run. It's been so long since I've shifted.

"Mom I'm gonna go for a run, I'm sure Mark should still be out there doing perimeter checks." I say and see she's barely listening as she finds more things to clean. I smile liking her presence here.

"Do you want me to take you home mom?" I ask and she finally looks at me.

"Oh no I can't have you here alone I've already set up a few of my things in the guest room. Go on now I'll be fine." She waves me away and I smile and leave my house through the back. As I do I take off my clothes and loosely tie the shorts I had on around my ankle and sigh as I feel my bones breaking and reshaping and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders as I stand on all fours and pant heavily letting my breath appear in front of me. A long run will do me good to take my mind off things.

The Alpha is near the south border.

My wolf says and I let him take complete control as we begin sprinting through the forest and enjoy every obstacle in our way. And my mind became very clear, I almost felt at peace with how things were going. We had that monster behind bars, Ada is slowly being healed and so far all threats to the pack have been silenced.

"Isaac!" I hear Mark exclaim and I stop running to see him and 8 other men standing around shirtless, I shift back and put my shorts on and embrace Mark as I catch my breath.

"Good to see you're out running. I sent your mother to check on you." He says patting my back and I laugh.

"She's staying temporally at my house now which if I'm being honest I'm glad about it, I've missed her nagging." I say and Mark smiles and we look at the rest of the men who appear to be sparring with each other to see who is the strongest. I recognize three of the men as the ones who went to capture Desiderius, along with 2 boys around 18 or 19 who may be in training and the remaining 3 being the usual men who watch the border of the pack for any trouble.

"Good to see you back Isaac!" One of them yells at me and I nod my head at him and watch him tackle one of the young boys to the ground with ease making us all laugh.

"Get up Luke try again." Mark says and the young man nods his head again and tries to swing but misses and ends up in the dirt once more.

"Devon! Partner up with Leon." Mark says to the young man standing farther away enjoying his friend's fighting and another man steps in who looks at him like a piece of meat. I recognize the young man from his early training, he's a quick fighter this might be interesting to watch.

Leon swings at Devon but misses as he steps under his arm just in time, he tries it again and misses. When he tries to lock him around his arm Devon sweeps his feet right from under him and he lands straight on his back making us all snicker.

"Come on old man. Can't keep up?" Devon jokes but Leon doesn't say a word as he stands slowly staring down at him, he seemed too serious to be fighting but I ignored the uneasy feeling. Devon then tries to swing at him but Leon catches his fist and squeezes.

"Ah!" Devon crumbles to his knees and I take a cautious step forward worrying about his safety

"Try keeping up with this." Leon says lowly and before any of us could act, Leon has wrapped his hands around his neck twisting it with a loud crack and his body falls limp beneath him.

"What have you done?" Mark's wolf has taken over and his voice alone should have been enough to make Leon submit to him but he only stares him down.

"Luke run home now!" I yell at the young wolf who shifts immediately. Two of the other men stand behind Leon staring Mark down and begin growling lowly.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing? I am your Alpha!!" He screams at them but they don't submit still.

"We don't take orders from you. Not anymore." Leon says his eyes turning black and then glowing a bright blue.

"They're hybrids!!" I scream and the remaining men shift immediately but it's no use. Two of the men already kill one wolf and start fighting the other two while Mark and I focus Leon.

"Some Alpha." He laughs and lunges at Mark but misses.

Mark we can't beat them. We need to run!

I link to him and he looks over at me understanding.

Wait for my signal

He says and I hear the loud whining of the other wolves slowly being killed.

"You won't win this time." Leon snarls extending his longer fangs but as he lunges one more time Mark extends his claws and slashes his throat and looks at me.

"Go!" He screams and we both shift leaving behind are fallen brothers and those traitors.

"Could there be more??" I link to Mark and he only growls as a response.

Isaac!! There's someone here! They're looking for you don't come back!!.

My mother's voice screams in my head and I stop running immediately and change direction.

You can't!!!

Mark screams at me but I ignore him, but my wolf cries out in pain when I feel him bite into my back leg and pull me back, I notice him shift back and I do the same.

"They're attacking my mother!!" I scream at him.

"To get to you! Can't you see that fucking vampire is behind this! He wants you dead and if you go back there then you'll give him exactly what he wants!! Your pack comes first!" He yells and I lower my head and nod.

"We need to check the prison. Gabriel should still be there." He says and shifts back and I follow behind him still worrying about my mother and even Ada. This is going to be a long night.
