《My Vampire (Book Three)》Chapter 16

"It's unknown when he became a vampire, but only that my family has been hunting him since the 1200s. And in the time they watched him they found out he had created 3 immortals with his blood. You, Gabriel and some unknown he kept well hidden. He has the power to manipulate memories as well as force feelings that don't exist to come from someone. For example he could make you madly in love with him and decide to leave you while not undoing his power." She says and I notice Gabriel clench his fists at that last sentence.
"And his weaknesses?" Mark asks Rebecca as she sighs and looks like she's trying to remember.
"There was this name. Or a saying. I can't remember it seemed so strange. It was two letters and it was said that this force had absolute control over him and gave him whatever he wanted." She says.
"Io." Gabriel says and this time I see fear in his face.
"That was it!" Rebecca exclaims and Gabriel shakes his head.
"Io is not some force. She's a witch. I'm surprised that there are any texts written about her. She won't like that at all just like she won't like me talking about her." He sighs running a hand through his hair.
"I haven't seen her in years. Only Desiderius knows how to call her." Gabriel says and Rebecca looks worried.
"You have to know. The book says it's the only thing strong enough to defeat him." She says and Jeremy rubs her shoulder as she holds her stomach protectively.
"Rebecca...does that book mention anything else about his companions? Like their past?" I say slightly scared of the answer. She nods her head and if my heart could beat I'm sure it would skip a beat right there at the shock. I notice Gabriel look at her angrily and her cheeks blush embarrassed.
"What was my name Rebecca? I never knew my full name tell me." I beg her almost wanting to stand and shake the answer out of her.
"Warren. Ada Warren. You were born into a small town outside of Massachusetts that Desiderius burned to the ground..." She looks over at Gabriel who keeps his face blank.
"We can't call Io. She's more powerful than him. Even if we could call her..there's no guarantee she'll leave us alone or even help us." Gabriel says and I growl at him. He growls back and I stand up ready to rip his god damn throat out. Images of flames are going through my head and I swear I can hear the old woman's voice in my head again, I groan as my head aches again.

"Ada..." Isaac stands and tries to grab my hand again but I hiss at him and pretty soon both Jeremy and Mark are standing in front of their mates ready to attack me.
"You think I feel threatened by you...I could kill everyone in this room in seconds and feel nothing!" I exclaim and Gabriel takes a step towards me, I notice the way his hand moves and I take a step back.
"Ada...you know what I can do. You need to sit down. We need you to help kill him." He says calmly and I feel my eyes getting warm again. I do as he says and sit closer to Isaac, he puts his hand on shoulder and the warmth comforts me, I never realized just how much I hated my cold skin. I craved to be warm again, to feel the sun on my skin. I want to be human.
"It's late...we should all rest now." Crystal says looking between everyone in the room who seems on edge and very irritated. I can feel Isaac's eyes on me while I look closely at Gabriel, my old friend. I should have run away with him all those years ago. He said he could be immortal once more, maybe we could spend eternity together. Gabriel nods his head and doesn't even glance my way as he leaves the room, if my heart could beat it would break at how he feels toward me.
"Let's go." Isaac grabs my hand again and I hold it tight somehow wishing the warmth could transferred onto my own hand but I remain cold.. We leave in silence just like Gabriel and I outrun Isaac in order to reach his house quicker and stand in the middle of his room just looking around. I've been alone for a hundred years waiting for Desi....what I wouldn't give to be alone for another hundred years now. I longed to feeling something towards Isaac but I just can't, all I feel is his warmth and nothing else.
"Warren...Ada Warren." I repeat my name hoping some memories could from it but all my thoughts are fuzzy.
"Why did you run?" I hear Isaac's heart beating wildly to match the anger in his voice.
"Which time?" I joke and he growls. He doesn't answer me so I shrug my shoulders and sit by the window staring out into the empty woods but I can't help but wonder if Desi is waiting out there for me. I feel Isaac's warm presence behind me and I roll my eyes, these wolves are so clingy.

"Why are you being like this...you didn't act like this when.." he doesn't finish his sentence and I stand tilting my head to the side and feel slightly amused with the sad look in his eyes.
"When I was human...well half-human. I told you nothing those hunters could do would change me. Vampires have no soul. We're demons. We can't love. We don't feel anything. I feel nothing towards you. You have nothing to prove I'm yours!!" I yell extending my neck to show where his claim had healed.
"We could go back...to the lab. Rebecca might know something to cure you..." his voice is beginning to sound pathetic. I groan and push past him and lay in his bed burying my face into his pillow.
"Ada...I care about you so deeply. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you please. You must have some feelings toward me." He says and he places a hand on my shoulder, again I feel nothing.
"Answer me Ada!" He yells and I flinch but say nothing. He growls and gets on top of me wrapping his hand around my neck and I moan as he tightens his grip.
"Why do you react to pain...to my anger..I just want to love you..what has he done to you?" He says quietly and I see his eyes beginning to water.
"Call Gabriel.."I say as he slowly removes his hand from my neck. He looks at me confused and I roll my eyes and repeat myself.
"Call. Gabriel." I growl and extend my fangs.
10 minutes Gabriel hesitantly shows up in our living room and glares between us.
"Just because you stay awake all night doesn't mean you have to force us to as well." He says sarcastically and I roll my eyes.
"I know what pain I'm causing with everyone. I won't stand it any longer. Please don't hate me for this. Desi told me long ago how to call Io." I say and Gabriel glares at me and I see black smoke slowly pouring from his hands.
"Stop it. What are you doing?!" Isaac growls at him and I hiss at him.
"I'll give you what you want. A human mate to turn into a werewolf. I see in your eyes it's what you want...Desi won't want me if I'm human." I shut my eyes tight trying to gather the courage and strength to do this.
"You're lying you don't know how to call her. You're too weak!" Gabriel screams at me and I growl but his words still hurt.
I remember how it felt to have a mate, as much as I hate to admit it, having that human side of me was...the best feeling I felt in centuries. The longer I remain a vampire, the more I feel the part of me that is Desi become stronger. I know what he's done to me and I can't let him do it to another, he's lived too long.
"Desi told me how much she adored you. She always wanted you safe. If you're dying she'll come.." I say quietly and feel my eyes beginning to warm up with blood. If this fails I will have killed Gabriel for nothing.
I extend my fangs at the same time that Gabriel does, but he's no longer immortal making me stronger. I move quickly and grab the back of his head to expose his neck and I waste no time sinking my teeth into him and drinking as quickly as possible for him to be on the verge of death. I gasp as I feel his blood pouring down my chin and I let his body hit the floor with a loud thud.
"What have you done!?" Isaac yells and I back away slowly and force his arms up to wrap around me,I longed for his warmth. I moan feeling Gabriel's blood flow through me. I turn around as black smoke forms in three circles around Gabriel's dying body and Isaac holds me tighter.
"They'll help us..." I whisper feeling overwhelmed by all of Gabriel's power building inside me. I watch as the first girl appears, her long hair is a dark chestnut color that matches Desiderius' perfectly and hangs past her elbows, but her eyes are a bright purple that match the color of her dress that hangs off her shoulders. The next girl's hair is a little bit shorter and curlier, but her eyes meet mine immediately and it's as if I'm staring directly at Gabriel, her dress is white and matches her sisters perfectly. The room goes cold as the final girl appears, her white hair is tied up with two strands laying perfectly around her rose colored cheeks and she lifts the skirt of her black dress as she walks around Gabriel's body. She finally notices our presence in the room and her eyes turn black as she smiles at us.
"I always warned Gabriel about vampires..."
