《My Vampire (Book Three)》Chapter 12

Well well well. Look at this interesting picture." Jeremiah's voice yells out before us. Isaac growls loudly and holds me protectively towards his chest.
"Don't even think about fucking touching her." Isaac snaps at him and I gasp as he moves us to the farthest corner of the cell.
"You don't know what you're doing boy. You've got a monster in your arms." He says and I look over his shoulder and see a bandage on his neck and I laugh at him.
"You're gonna fucking pay for what you did to me." I yell and he shakes his head. His brothers grab two of the guns I recognize as the ones that held the tranquilizers. Fear takes over me as I worry about what they'll do if they sedate Isaac.
Jeremiah grabs the remote to the collar and begins opening the cell right as he presses down on it. I smirk at him when Isaac moves to the side and his eyes widen when he sees the collar is no longer there. I hiss and use my speed to grab the collar off the floor and leave my cell and before the brothers can even aim I grab a scalpel off the medical table and slit both their throats and let them fall to the floor.
"You fucking bitch!" Jeremiah yells and I smile as Isaac comes up behind him and wraps his hand around his neck shoving him roughly against the wall. He starts extending the claws on his other hand and I know he's ready to slash his throat but that's not what i want.
"Wait!" I yell and he stops completely. They both look at me confused until I walk over and lock the collar onto Jeremiah's neck. Isaac lets him go and we both glare at him, I pick the remote off the ground where he dropped it after seeing his brothers die and hold it tight in my hand.
"I've still beaten you. You can't reverse what's been done. Not without me." He laughs and Isaac growls at him.
"That won't stop me from making you pay for what you've done. And do you honestly believe your pathetic little experiment would work. I feel my power returning more and more every minute." I smile at him and press down on the remote hard causing it to break in my hand but still making the collar work. Jeremiah screams as he crumbles to his knees in front of me and I smile at the pain he's in. He goes to reach for me when Isaac grabs him by his shirt and shows amazing strength as he throws him back into the cell we were just in and shuts the gate.
"Come on." He says and picks me up to carry me over the bodies and pools of blood forming on the ground.
"I'll find you!!" Are the last words I hear Jeremiah say.

I take a deep breath rubbing my cheek against Isaac's chest, feeling free and the moment he steps outside I feel the moonlight washing over me and powering me up again just as it has for centuries.
"Why haven't you put me down yet?" I ask as Isaac walks calmly through the forest. He has his arm underneath my knees and the other holding tightly on my arm to press me against him. I tug at the shirt I'm wearing of his and notice just how big the fabric is.
"I can't have you running away from me." He says and I roll my eyes.
"You've marked me as yours wolf. Even if I did run away I'd have nowhere to go. Like you said. I'm yours. Let's just see what Desi has to say about that" I say thinking about the plans we had to meet up. He growls at me when I say his name.
"Do you even know where we are?" I ask looking around and seeing nothing but pine trees.
"We're near my pack. I can smell them." He says and I cross my arms across my stomach when it growls loudly.
He looks at me curiously,"Are you sure you don't want my blood?" He asks and I shake my head.
"My stomach hasn't growled in 400 years. I don't need blood anymore." I say and I feel pathetic. My whole world revolved around blood. I was cold. I was heartless. It gave me life even if it was for a few moments.
"What exactly is different with you? Besides your smell and heartbeat?" He asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"I don't crave blood anymore but I still have my fangs. My heart beats...it's dark out. Maybe I can walk in the sun." I say and my heart beat quickens. I haven't been in the sun for so long, it's what I hated the most ever since I've been a vampire. But deep down I knew I missed it. I missed colors. I missed the warmth.
Warmth. I press my cheek against his chest and rub against it feeling his warmth. "You're so warm." I state and he laughs.
"Wolves tend to be very warm." He says like it's an obvious fact that I should know.
"I'm fast...I don't feel strong anymore." I say and look at my hands and notice some cuts where I crushed the remote.
"I'm not healing.." I say and he growls again.
"Are you hurt anywhere else?" He asks and I shake my head.
My skin starts tingling, the same tingling I always got when I knew dawn was near.
"Put me down. Now!" I say and I don't wait for him to do so, instead I jump out of his arms and stare off into the horizon and notice the slight beams of the sun beginning to rise and turning the sky slowly into different strokes of oranges and yellows.

"The sun is rising." I gasp feeling tears in my eyes, for the first time in my long life I'm not afraid of the sun rise. I feel a tear go down my face as I close my eyes and let the warmth wash over my face and when I open my eyes I watch the most beautiful sunrise to have ever existed. If only this moment could have lasted hours, I would have gladly died there watching that sunrise.
"It's beautiful." I cry and Isaac kisses my cheek.
"Hey!" We both growl and stare into the direction that the voice came from.
A tall built man with black hair comes out shirtless and looks at Isaac with wide eyes.
"Isaac?" He says and Isaac turns towards him.
"Allen!"he yells and they embrace in a hug and then look at each other.
"Where the hell have you been? We've been looking for you for two months! There's been no trace of you anywhere the Alpha was this close to calling off the search!" He says shaking Isaac as he laughs.
"It's...a lot to explain." Isaac says and looks at me.
"Is she your mate? She's...strange" he says and that earns him a growl from Isaac.
Do I still look like a vampire? Is there something in my scent?
"Listen man you can explain it all to Mark I just alerted him that your here." He says and Isaac straightens up immediately.
"I'll come to him then." He says and looks at me.
"I won't run away I promise. I'll follow you." I say and he smiles while the other one looks at me confused. They discard their clothing and shift immediately and grab their clothes in their mouths and begin sprinting, I have no trouble at all keeping up with them. In fact I had to slow down a couple times to let them lead.
In seconds we reach a large building I assume must be used to hold meetings and as we enter I hear some woman arguing inside.
"Where was he? Is he okay??" Her voice calls out and I hear a man trying to calm her down.
"Crystal please he'll be here any moment don't worry." He says just as we open the doors to the large hall.
4 different sets of eyes fall on us and I suddenly feel like I'm intruding on such a private reunion.
"Isaac!" The woman who I assume is Crystal gasps as she settles her eyes on him and then on me. I look over at the man who is next to her and see that he is eyeing me suspiciously. I look over at the next pair I see and see a pregnant woman looking at me terrified while the man next to her wraps his arm around her protectively.
"Who's this?" Crystal says and smiles at me. She's the one he loved, she's the one who belongs to the Alpha.
Isaac looks back at me and smiles as he extends his hand, I grab it and he pulls me slowly to his side.
"She's my mate." He says proudly and my eyes stay fixed on the girl who looks terrified of me.
"Isaac...do you know what she is?" She finally speaks and I growl only to receive a louder growl from her mate. Isaac holds onto me tighter and moves me behind his back.
"We were kidnapped. Somehow they managed to reverse her process but not completely. She's still half vampire but she's half human too." He says and I suddenly feel like everyone in this room doesn't trust me.
"The moment her heart started beating...I knew she was mine." He says and I smile as he looks back at me to say that.
"That's not possible...how old is she?" Crystal's mate says and I'm starting to get annoyed at how they talk about me as if I'm not even here.
I step out from behind Isaac's back and face them all,"I was born in the year 1674 and became a vampire in 1692. I'm almost 400 years old. I'm no threat to you, to your mate or to your pack." I say holding my head high.
"Our fate is not like that. How is that you can have a mate born that long ago when you weren't even alive?" Crystal's mate says, I'm starting not to like him. But his words make a good point.
"That doesn't matter Mark. Isaac has come home. And he's found his mate." Crystal says and I hear him growl as she embraces me in a hug. "Welcome to the pack" she whispers in my ear and I close my eyes admiring her kindness and hug her back.
She lets me go and I look at the pregnant woman who was scared of me.
"How did you know what I am when you saw me? There isn't a wolf outside this room alive who knows vampires exist." I ask her.
"My name is Rebecca Corvin. I was apart of the family that hunted your kind. But now I'm a wolf, I was turned by my mate Jeremy." She says and looks at him, he nods his head at me.
I open my mouth to reply to her when I hear the doors open again behind us.
"Gabriel get out!" Mark yells and I freeze in my place.
"The entire pack is absolutely buzzing about Isaac's return and this mysterious mate of his." The familiar voice rings in my ears and I let out a shaky breath as I turn around. His eyes widen as he looks me over.
"Ada..."
"Gabriel..."

Sweet Minds
"No one can see it, some can feel it, and only the few can use it. We belong to the few." Marith Merryfield felt anything but merry that morning. She found herself waiting for a delayed train on a deserted platform, in the freezing cold of the Dutch autumn. Just when the strangeness is making her consider turning around and going back home an empty train rolls into the station. For reasons unclear to this day she decides to get onboard. An unlikely, and quite impossible, train accident is about to hurtle her into a world she had always suspected existed. It was a dark and absurd place she had rejected and suppressed when she was young. Now she would need that dormant part of herself to survive. After a brief hospitalization she must choose between two continents and finds herself reluctantly boarding a plane to Oregon to be reunited with her shadows. She returns to the town she grew up in, which is where her father still lives and her childhood memories linger. By the end of the week the mysterious train accident turns out to be the least of her problems. Her life was never supposed to become this serious this fast. Through an improbable and unfortunate series of events she is soon introduced to a motley crew of characters that appear to be carrying the same struggles through life. They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. She is introduced to a world of Prophets, Runners and Mages led by an Oracle and a Watchmaker. Over the course of several weeks Marith learns that, together with her Chain, she is expected to save this fabric of reality, by fighting a mysterious and immortal creature and his aggressive pet. In order to have a chance at overcoming this force of nature she has to revisit the darkest and most desolate corners of her mind. ***** The total word count of the first 12 chapters amounts to about 85.000 words.
