《My Vampire (Book Three)》Chapter 1

I don't know what time it is. I don't know where I am. I don't even know what I am. There's a strange feeling that has come over me. I can't feel my own heart beat. I don't recognize my own hands. I feel cold and lost. These sheets are soft and silky against my bare skin but they don't distract me from the pain between my legs or the aching in my wrist.
I lift my right hand up and feel the heavy pull back of the cuff and chain attached to it. The room is dimly lit by the only candle there is at my side. I look at the wall in front of me and barely make out the details of it, there are no windows. It's a wall of dirt with crevices dug into it to hold different artifacts of clothing and jewels and cups. I smell the air and smell his stale sweat with a mixture of both our blood. But smelling his sent a shiver down my spine. What the hell is this man?
I hear the sound of a door opening and I can sense his presence in the room, he's the same as me. No heartbeat. No breathing. He moves like an angel as he slowly smiles at me. The feeling of his eyes on me makes my skin crawl and I slowly sit up to glare at him letting the sheets fall off my chest and I expose myself to him shamelessly. My fury begins to grow inside me and all I crave is his blood to splatter all over the room. I'd give anything for his blood, the warmth. I want him to feel my pain and loss.
Memories begin to flash in my head and I keep my eyes shut as the worst headache I've ever known comes to me. Almost as if someone is reaching into my mind and ripping the memories from me.
"Stop it what are you doing?!" I groan and place both my hands on my head as the pain grows stronger.
He lifts up his fingers in a stirring motion and the pain slowly decreases and I have to look around the room again, I've forgotten what's happened. What's my name? What is this place?
I look at the man in front of me, he keeps his eyes locked into mine curiously and waits for a reaction from me. I notice the way his tongue slowly dives out to lick those plump lips of his, I moan quietly thinking about how they would feel against mine. His dark brown hair reaches past the tops of his shoulders with little curls at the end, it's messy and uncombed but the look only makes him more attractive. I look back into his eyes and they flash a bright blue color for a moment before turning back into the dark brown.
He takes long strides to the side of my bed very slowly making me take in every inch of the God in front of me, the candle at my side makes his eyes a lighter color and I almost feel relieved at his presence. I lift my hand up to touch him when that familiar heavy weight stops me, the chains. My memories start rushing back and tears of frustration fill my eyes. I feel a tear stream down my cheek and I look down at where it landed on his white sheets, a red dot appears. Blood.

"You." I stare at him wishing he was dead. "You killed me. You killed my family! You've ruined my life! You raped me!" I scream at the top of my lungs and raise my hand to hit him when grabs it and places his hand on my neck and forces me to look into his eyes.
I groan loudly as the pain comes back into my head and I hear him hum quietly.
"Poor Ada. This is going to take longer than I thought." His deep voice says and the pain increases in my head making me scream.
The year is 1692. My name is Ada Warren. I had just turned 18 and lived in Massachusetts. I started off my day normally and went into town with my sister and even though she was younger than me I was always called by my nickname, Baby Ada. Since for awhile I was an only child until my sister and brother were born. Only my family called me that but so did some of the villagers whenever they came over to our home.
"Mother says that father will catch a duck today." she says excitedly and I pat her back and grab her hand in mine.
"If he does you'll be lucky to get its foot to suck after I get to it" I tease her and she laughs and starts running ahead of me in the dirt path. I shake my head and keep my normal pace until I notice the sky slowly darkening above me, I look up and the see the once white clouds slowly swirl into a mixture of gray and I hear the low rumble of thunder nearby, we better hurry before it rains.
"Merriam!!" I yell and chase after her. Her giggling stops when we reach the undertakers shop. Just recently a number of villagers had been found dead in the woods with all the blood in their bodies gone. I watch as a woman sobs as she exits his shop.
"Come on. It's not polite to stare" I tell her and we walk along to our destination.
"Hi Mary!" Merriam greets the old woman as I place some potatoes into our basket. She doesn't say anything back which is unusual for her. Although everything she does is unusual she always greeted my sister. I placed down my basket and shake the woman's shoulder, she was staring off into the distance but when she feels my touch she looks up at me.
"My child" she gasps and places her hand over mine. She jerks in her rocking chair and her eyes go white as her hand wraps around my wrist with a deathly grip. My sister and I scream as she starts whispering in tongues and I notice a strange mark on her neck that was never there before.
"Merriam grab the basket and run!" I scream and she does as I say. I try my best to pull from the old woman's grasp but she does not give. Finally her eyes go back to normal and she smiles at me. My heart stops as I notice the large fangs in her mouth slowly extending.

"Baby Ada I have seen your past present and future. Before the sunsets you will meet your fate and spend the next 4 centuries alone until he comes. A warrior of the moon who will free you from your curse" she gasps and falls forward letting my hand go.
I lift up my dress to run faster outside and see my sister waiting for me." I told you to run!" I yell and she cries.
"I was scared!" She starts sobbing and people begin to look at us.
"Come on I'm sorry. Let's go home now" I say and she wipes away her tears in the sleeve of her dress.
"Don't do that. Mother will be mad at you" I scold and she nods her head. The old woman's words repeat in my head but I shake them away, she's crazy.
Only now do I realize that if I had taken her warning more seriously I could have saved my family, my whole village and even my own life. But I was young and naive. I returned home like nothing happened and made my sister swear not to tell anyone what happened.
I was helping my mother clean up after dinner and helping to put my younger siblings to bed. I became distracted when I walked past the window and noticed the full moon and how beautiful it was. My mother caught me staring and snapped her fingers at me.
"Come now girl our work isn't finished yet" she whispers so she doesn't wake anyone else in the house.
"Mother do you believe that evil exists?" I ask and she looks at me strangely.
"You better stop talking like that before someone hears you. You've heard what happened to those Salem girls" she scolds and I nod my head.
"And stop wearing your hair down like that. It's gotten so long. I'll have to cut it once summer comes around" she says and I nod my head.
She looks at me for a moment and tucks some hair behind my ear,"Go to bed now. I can finish this. Goodnight love " she says and caresses my cheek. Those would be the last words I would hear from her.
I get into the bed I share with my sister and take back some of the blankets she had over her and I begin to peacefully drift off to sleep.
When I wake up I have the strong feeling that somebody is watching me and I stare out the window and notice a slight glow coming from the village. I climb over my sister to get a better look. She whines but I hush her and squint my eyes to look farther. I notice the glow now is coming from flames that have spread across the entire village.
I gasp and shake her,"Grab Henry while I get mother and father there's a fire!" I yell at her and she gets up immediately.
I jump out of bed and run into my parents room to wake them but they're not there.
"Mother!" I call out and I hear her call my name outside. I run out but no one is there. I notice a figure run into the forest by our home.
"Mother wait!" I scream and run after her. However the deeper I run the more I realize it's hopeless. I sob feeling defeated but gasp when I remember I had left my two siblings behind. I run even faster now back to our home. Please be okay. Please. I think to myself but feel tears fill my eyes when I see the flames take over my house. There's no screaming. There's no way for me to get back inside. I fall to my knees and open my mouth to scream but all the comes from my mouth is a squeak.
I feel a pair of cold hands on my shoulders and I look up to meet a pair of blue glowing eyes. A man with dark hair stands before me dressed in dark slacks and a loose white blouse. His hair sits perfectly groomed on the top of his head and he smiles at me. That's when I notice the blood surrounding his mouth and the small drops on his shirt. He lowers himself to my level and slowly brings me into an embrace.
"There there child. Soon you'll be seeing things my way" he says and begins to grab my hair and slowly move it to one side. I gasp at both his speed and his force when he latches onto my neck and I feel my blood spill into his mouth. I want to fight him back but I have no will to live. He pulls back just as I begin to see spots in my vision he lays me gently on the ground and I stare at the stars feeling a bit calm. He lifts my head up and brings his wrist to my mouth, I do what feels natural and begin to drink hungrily.
His blood burns on its way down my throat and he pulls away after a minute and leaves me to thrash around on the ground and scream in pain. I start breathing heavily and my heart is beating so fast that I fear it might burst. Eventually I don't even feel it beat anymore and the pain slowly dissappears.
That night was the beginning of my new life. My new life with Desiderius my maker and lover. As for the old woman's warning, I forgot about it until the day my curse would be broken.
