《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》1.4

"Wake up, love."
Carlisle shook Eleanor's shoulder, trying to awake her from her deep sleep. Him, Esme, and Eleanor had finally landed in London after the six hour plane ride. Since they were only in Egypt for the day, they hadn't stopped anyway where El could rest. She was exhausted.
He glanced at Esme over his shoulder with a desperate look. Everyone was exiting the aeroplane, and Eleanor showed no sign of waking. Esme only shared Carlisle's look, and looked around her, "try shaking her again."
The doctor sighed and turned back to his fiancee. He began to shake her shoulder more harshly. Eleanor let out a small groan.
"El, darling, we have to get off the plane," Carlisle kept shaking her shoulder. The girl emitted another groan, but reluctantly opened her eyes. She glared over at both her fiance and Esme.
The last passengers were leaving the plane by the time the three took their cases. Eleanor rubbed her eyes as she followed them off of the airplane. She was excited to be in London, and she was excited to meet more of Carlisle and Esme's friends, especially after meeting Benjamin.
She hoped that the London vampires would be friendly as well.
After walking through the plane and grabbing their luggage, they were on their way to find another witness. Eleanor laced her fingers with Carlisle's, enjoying the feeling of his hand in hers. It was nice to be open about their relationship. El was always cautious about going out with Carlisle in Forks, in fear of his colleagues' opinions.
"Who are we meeting this time?" El asked when they stepped outside. The sun was hidden behind clouds, and rain had begun to fall. The weather would be good for vampires. It reminded the girl of Forks.
"His name is Alistair," Esme looked over at the girl, "he doesn't know we're coming."
"He's a little antisocial," Carlisle explained, "hopefully we can persuade him to witness with us."
Eleanor's lips formed into a frown at the new information. She slightly doubted if they would even be able to convince Alistair to help them. She only hoped that he would.
"Do you know where to find him?" El asked.
Carlisle shook his head, "that's the hard part. Last I heard of him, he was moving around London."
"Maybe you could help find him," Esme mentioned, "could you search for his mind, or something?"
Eleanor shrugged, glancing up at Carlisle, "it's worth a shot. I've done it before."
"Let's go find a more private place," Carlisle suggested, "you can do it there."
Eleanor was able to track Alistair near the Marble Arch. The day had just turned to night when the three found him standing in the middle of the largest entrance. He seemed to be on the lookout for a meal.
Before they reached the man completely, he began to speak, "Carlisle."
"Alistair," Carlisle greeted, "it's been a long time, friend."
The vampire hummed and finally turned around. Eleanor took in his form - he was quite tall, with pale skin and long blonde hair. A short, blonde beard hugged his chin and his bright red eyes stood out in the darkness of the night, "how did you find me?"

Carlisle motioned towards Eleanor, "she did."
Alistair looked towards the human and raised a brow, "a human? What are you doing with a human girl, mate?"
"Fiancee," Eleanor spoke with a grin, "I'm his fiancee. Eleanor Stanley."
"Ah," Alistair nodded, "and how did you find me, Eleanor?"
"I have my ways," she replied, simply.
Alistair scoffed, "what did you need Carlisle?"
"We're in trouble," he began, "and we need your help. But only if you want."
The nomad pursed his lips in deep thought. His eyes studied Eleanor, making the girl shift on her feet. He was making her nervous, but she stood her ground. He nodded at her, "tell me how you found me."
El rolled her eyes, "I'm a witch. I tracked your mind."
He then turned to Carlisle, "tell me exactly what you've done."
A cry of relief nearly escaped Eleanor's mouth when they pulled up to the Cullen house. After a few days of travel, she was ecstatic to be on home ground again. The car came to a stop, and El fled out of the car, meeting with Edward and Bella.
She pulled the two into a group hug, "I am so happy to see you guys."
"How many came?" Carlisle asked, joining Eleanor as she pulled away from the two.
"Eighteen," Edward answered and Eleanor raised her brows at the number, "you have great friends, Carlisle."
"And Alice?" Esme asked, hopefully. Bella only shook her head, and Eleanor watched as Esme pulled the vampire into a hug.
"We'll all be on Aro's list now," everyone turned to face Alistair, who had finally exited the car, "centuries on the run. That's what you've brought me. Some friend you are, Carlisle."
"Alistair, come meet everyone," Carlisle offered, but the man shook his head.
"I already told you, if it comes to a fight, I won't stand against the Volturi," he said.
"We didn't ask you to," Eleanor mentioned, causing Carlisle to grip her shoulder.
"It won't come to a fight," Carlisle assured.
Alistair only rolled his eyes, "I'll be in the attic." The group watched as he jumped onto the roof, and disappeared into the attic.
Esme looked at Bella and Edward, "he's not a people person."
Eleanor scoffed as she made her way inside the house. That was an understatement.
Carlisle rushed to Eleanor's side, and grabbed her hand, "Eleanor wait."
She looked at him with expecting eyes, "there's a lot of vampires in there, and you're the only human. Please stay close to me or someone close to you."
El smiled and reached up to cup his face, "I will, Carlisle." She reached onto her tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips, "I love you."
"I love you," he mumbled. Carlisle opened the door with his free hand, and allowed Eleanor to lead him inside.
She stepped inside, but instantly froze at the people inside the house. Eighteen vampires stood in the living room, staring straight at Eleanor with crimson eyes. She stepped back towards Carlisle, gripping his hand tighter.

With a squeeze of her hand, the man stepped in front of her.
"Welcome," Carlisle greeted, "thank you all for coming."
Eleanor watched behind Carlisle, and smiled when she noticed Carmen and Eleazar coming towards them. Carmen first welcomed Carlisle with a hug, and then stepped around him to embrace Eleanor, "it's great to see you again, Eleanor."
"It's good to see you," she let go of Carlisle's hand to hug Carmen, "you too, Eleazar."
"Come meet everyone, El," Carlisle told her. With a final smile to the two vampires, she reclaimed Carlisle's hand and followed him to the first group, "this is my mate, Eleanor. El this is Garrett."
Garrett stood next to Emmett with his arms crossed over his chest. He stared down at Eleanor with a wide smirk on his face. His brown hair was resting in a messy mop on his head, and his red eyes stared down at Eleanor, mockingly.
Eleanor learned that Garrett had a strong hatred for the British, and that he and Carlisle had met during the Seige of Yorktown. El thought he was interesting.
She was introduced to the Irish clan next. Carlisle had told her that they had terrible self control, and their thirst for human blood was dangerous. Now Eleanor understood why Carlisle wanted her by his side. She made a note to stay away from them.
After saying a quick hello to Benjamin and Amun, Eleanor turned to Kate and Tanya. The girls each exchanged hugs. Kate and Tanya shared a look before staring back at Eleanor, "I'm sorry for Irina. We never thought she would do this."
"Don't worry about it," Carlisle said, "it's not your fault."
"They're coming after Eleanor as well, Carlisle," Tanya said, quietly, "aren't you worried?"
"Yes," Eleanor spoke, "but we'll be okay."
Later in the evening, Eleanor stood outside with Bella and Edward. She had just met Zafrina and Kachiri, two woman from the Amazon. Zafrina, she learned, had power over the mind, and could make you see whatever she wanted.
"If she wasn't holding my hand right now, I'd swear this was real," Edward spoke. His eyes were searching all around him in amazement, and Eleanor wondered what Zafrina was showing Bella and Edward.
Bella frowned and shook her head, "I don't see anything."
"Edward you didn't tell me your wife was a shield," Eleazar walked up towards the group with the rest of the Denali's, Emmett, Garrett, and Carlisle following him.
Eleanor and Bella shared a look, "what's a shield?"
Edward stared at his wife in a new light. He smiled in disbelief, "the ones I've met are all so different."
"It's a defensive talent," Eleazar explained.
"It's why I couldn't read your mind, even before," Edward added, "why Aro couldn't."
Eleanor frowned, "why can I?"
Edward only shrugged, "maybe because you're a witch. You can reach inside people's minds."
"You have a very powerful gift," Eleazar continued.
Eleanor watched as Kate stepped forward and grabbed Bella's hand. A slight buzzing filled the air as she used her gift of electricity on Bella, "oh, she's a shield all right. Should've put her on her ass."
"Or maybe your voltage had been exaggerated," Garrett spoke with a smirk.
Kate held her hand up and twirled her fingers, "maybe it only works on the weak."
The nomad stepped towards the woman, and lifted his pointer finger. Carlisle shook his head, "Garrett, I wouldn't." His friend didn't listen, but instead continued to reach towards her hand. When the two touched, Garrett's face contorted into pain, and he was on his knees in an instant.
He stared up at Kate with a look of awe, "you, are an amazing woman."
Carlisle and Eleanor grinned at each other. Garrett stood to his feet and turned to face the two of them. His gaze focused on Eleanor, "did I hear something about you being a witch?"
Eleanor grinned, "you did."
"And you're human?"
"I am," she boasted. She felt oddly proud that she was able to compare herself to the vampires while still being human. Her powers made her unique, they made her stand out.
With Garrett's eyes still on her, she moved her hand through the air, and let out a wave of magic. While watching the scarlet tendrils, she named off everything she was capable of. After lowering her hand, she stared back at Garrett, whose mouth had dropped slightly. He looked at Carlisle, "I can see why the Volturi want her, too."
Carlisle shot his friend a tense smile, but his expression quickly changed. Him and the group of vampires looked in the distance, while Jacob and his new pack of wolves jumped through the clearing. A blur passed by Eleanor in a flash, and she watched as it taunted the wolves. Her eyes followed it up a tree, where the man finally found his rest.
He sat next to another vampire. His hair was a platinum blonde, while the other's was a dark brown color. Carlisle stepped in front of Eleanor, "Vladimir, Stephan, you're a long way from home."
"Why are they here?" El heard Kate mutter.
The blonde spoke, surprising Eleanor with his Romanian accent, "we heard the Volturi were moving against you. But that you would not stand alone."
"We didn't do what we were accused of," Carlisle told them, causing the blonde to roll his eyes, "we do not care what you did Carlisle."
The brunette spoke next, "we have been waiting a millennium for the Italian scum to be challenged." Eleanor frowned as they spoke. She wondered who exactly these vampires were.
"It is not our plan to fight the Volturi."
"Shame," The blonde tsked, "Aro's witnesses will be so disappointed."
"They'll enjoy a good fight," the brunette mentioned.
Eleanor looked up at Carlisle with wide eyes as she processed the new information. None of them realized that the Volturi would have witnesses of their own. It changed everything.
"Aro's witnesses?" Eleazar asked, glancing over at Carlisle.
"Aww," the blonde stuck out his bottom lip. His red eyes were mocking as he stared down at the vampires, "still hoping they'll listen?"
