Kai had awoken to the sound of people talking. Matteo was no longer in the bed and Kai expected it. Vampires don't sleep and Matteo probably got bored.

Kai yawned, getting up and exiting the room, they're outside the door was Matteo and some girl.

The girl had long, blonde hair; it was colored and curled. She had a baby face a button nose and baby blue eyes.

She was wearing a baby blue blouse; the treading was pink, as well as a pink ribbon that flowed throughout the top, being tied in the front. A short wavy white skirt, with matching blue fishnets, as well as white thigh-high boots.

Her eyes darted over to Kai, her face remained emotionless, "Is this him?" She asked her voice cold as her eyes turned to an orange color.

"Yes, you don't have to read his mind," Matteo said with an eye roll.

She glared at him, "you lie a lot."

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Matteo pouted, she laughed at his face before looking back at Kai.

"I'm Mayvel." The girl greeted, smiling. "I'm Matteo's girlfriend."

"Ew, that's so gross. You're my baby sister and I'm gay." Matteo said, face twisting in disgust.

She laughed, "I was trying to see if he got jealous, but a good way to ruin it," she said, "welcome to the family. Not technically, but like I'm pretty sure you're going to marry him."

Kai blushes. "Awe, Matteo, he is so precious." She squealed, in a blink of an eye she was in front of him, squeezing his cheeks.

She let his cheeks go, smiling widely.

"Are you guys' families like Zane and Luka?" Kai asked.

She shook her head, "we are blood-related, sadly. I didn't pick him, if I could pick, it wouldn't be him."

Matteo glared at her, "ignore her. She isn't even supposed to be here."

"When you said you found a human, I had to come to see. We don't get many humans around here." She said, rolling her eyes and crossing his arms.

"Well, we have to get him home; his parents are probably worried sick," Matteo said.

Kai's face fell in panic, "holy fuck, my parents." He said, rushing to the front door, but Matteo blocked his way.

"You need a story. Your parents are going to freak out when you show up and they will ask you tons of questions." Matteo said, "so calm down."

Kai nodded, looking down, "what do I say?"

"Hey, my little human, don't worry baby. Just tell them that you were able to find a place to hide for the night."

"How do I explain the shower and clothes? We didn't even have money to pay the water bill this month!"

Matteo thought for a moment, "Tell them you bought a new place and didn't know how to mention to them you wanted to move out."

"But then they would want me to move out and I have no place to go," Kai spoke, making Matteo chuckle.

"For someone smart, you sure do act dumb. You would live with Zane."

"Does he even want someone living here?" Kai asked, "He doesn't seem to be very nice."

Matteo rolled his eyes, "he is a softy, and he just hides it well. Trust me, he would love to have you here, he just isn't good with emotions."

Kai nodded, "this is happening."

"If everything goes as planned, my little human we won't be apart for long," Matteo said, pulling Kai into a hug.

Kai hugged back right away, "regardless, I don't think anyone could stop me from seeing you again."

Matteo pulled away slightly, placing a gentle kiss on Kai's forehead. "I shall miss you until we meet again."

"Until we meet again," Kai agreed.

Matteo stepped to the side, allowing Kai to exit the house. Kai opened the door making Matteo covered his eyes at the bright light, hissing slightly.

Kai mumbled an apology, before closing the door, looking around and realizing he had no clue where he was.

"You're at Luxay Apartments, go down to the lobby and you'll be on Roams Street, it's like two blocks away from the market we met at," Matteo screamed through the door.

Kai shouts a "thank you," before following instructions.

He found his way out the lobby, going down the block and finding the market.

He looked down the alley, seeing Matteo standing there, smirking as he wore sunglasses. "Just making sure you are getting home safe, my little human."

Kai blushed, "you're just finding a reason to see me again."

"Guilty." He said, putting his hands up in defense.

Kai rolled his eyes, "I'm fine. I got this." He spoke, walking away from the alley.

He was nervous as heck to head home, he hoped he didn't get asked so many questions and his parents were just grateful he was alive.

When he entered his home, he heard sobbing. When the door clicked shut, the crying stopped; stools slide against a wooden floor and his mother came into view.

"Kai, baby! You're okay." She sobbed out, rushing to him and into his arms, he hugged her back just a tight.

"It - thought you were dead." She cried out, "How did you survive? Why are you wearing new clothes and you have showered?"

"Can we sit down?" Kai suggested, walking into the living room.

She nodded, following behind him.

They sat down on the couch, side by side.

And Kai did what he had to.

He told the story of a lifetime.

"I've been saving up money and finally got enough to get a small apartment. I didn't know how to talk to you about it, so I didn't. Last night I noticed the time and rushed to the small place. I was able to stay the whole night there." Kai explained while Kai lied.

Her mother nodded, "I knew eventually you would move out. I'm so happy you're okay, but Kai I don't want you to waste your money on the apartment and stay here with us. I won't be sad if you aren't here, long as you're okay. Please just don't give me a heart attack again; I'm getting too old for that. I thought a vampire had taken you." His mother laughed off.

If only she knew, they did.
