I kept my eyes low. Not because I wanted to, but because I didn't want him to see the fear. The uneasiness in my eyes.

I've never been obedient or tamed before. But I guess this would be the feeling. Lost, confused, afraid...just wanting to have as little attention as possible.

Why do I feel like this? This isn't me!

Suddenly, his fingers lifting my chin makes me flinch and I stand. Crying out in pain. Clutching my stomach.

Knox stands. His worried blue eyes roaming my body. I can feel the burn of them on my bruised flesh.

My eyes snap to his and I growl, stepping away until my back rests against the wall of the trailer. But, despite my warning he approaches. Violet gets up and scurries to her mother. Neither of them daring to move from the doorway.

Glaring at him I feel my chest heave as I begin to pant. Why was I so afraid? What was I scared of? His touch? Being hurt?

He reaches his hand out and I snap my jaws at his fingers. Chuckling, he pulls them back a little before moving them to caress my cheek lightly.

I stay still, staring straight ahead at his broad chest. Not blinking. I felt weak, vulnerable. For the first time....since...I was a young girl.

I kept perfectly still. Letting this stranger, this arsehole, gently trace my cheeks, nose and lips with his rough fingertips.

His touch was soothing. I felt calm in a way I've never felt before. I wanted to purr so badly. To melt into his safe body and stay there forever. A magnetic pull which I couldn't describe.

He steps closer. His body heat and the scent of him was overwhelming. The scent of man, earth and trees made my mouth water.

He stepped closer. Using both of his hands to cup my flushed cheeks. I finally raised my eyes to his and he smiles down at me.

"There she is. There's my beautiful baby girl." He smiles happily. I couldn't help it. His beautiful smile, his eyes that lit up and his dimples were all too much. I smiled back.

Before I know it I'm in his arms. I hold on, wrapping my arms around his neck as he carefully carries me out of Sissy's trailer to his own.

"Come on princess. Let's get you bathed."
