《Make You Beautiful - [Jeff the Killer x reader]》Chapter 13: "boss"

The first thing I felt when I woke up was a stare at my back. I was facing the wall and I knew Jeff was right behind me. Does he ever sleep? Was he observing me the whole time? I didn't see him, but I just knew he was watching. Didn't surprise me. At this point I was getting used to it.

The room had a warm vibe to it as it was dawn. Still pretty early. Yet, I didn't feel sleepy anymore. Everything that's been happening had fallen upon my mind, making me think a lot. Somehow though, I felt so calm. As if my emotions have had enough and blocked everything. It felt empty. Maybe I just couldn't take in the fact that my best friend was dead. Or that my life will never be the same. It will never be normal.

I debated whether to turn around and face the man that took my life away. I didn't want to, but eventually, I had to. So I did. He laid calmly and as I predicted was watching me. When I turned around and looked him in the eyes he didn't even flinch. Just kept on staring with no shame. His face was blank. Well, as blank as it could be with that permanent smile across it. That can honestly be pretty confusing sometimes.

We laid and stared at each other like that for a while. Both emotionless. The sun kept rising, making the room slightly brighter each minute. Apart from that it felt like time had stopped.

The fact that this guy pretty much ruined my life and took everything away from me didn't seem real. It was too much to take in. At that moment I didn't even feel angry at him. Just... confused.

Jeff's unblinking eyes stared at my soul. It amazed me. Was he even human? Were there more like him? And if so, who are they?

I analyzed every feature of his face. Finally, my eyes stopped at the carved smile. It was leaving a scar. Unlike the fresh cuts on his victims. Did this guy watch too many batman movies or something?

"Did it hurt?" I asked.

"Huh?" He reacted almost as if he'd awoken from a trance.

"Your smile. Did it hurt when you cut it?"

My question put a slight grin on his face. "I don't remember."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "How can you not remember?"

"I was too excited at the moment. Pain wasn't what I focused on. I don't recall feeling it." He smirked at me. "Are you interested?"

"No sane person would ever be interested in something as stupid as that." I frowned.

"Unless they had no choice." His eyes turned dark for a second. I instantly sat up and looked at him with disgust. In response he started laughing and got up. I watched him walk out of the messy room. A pile of clothes still laying there, untouched. Several pieces stained with blood. Jeff never seemed to clean his room. I could see a thick layer of dust flying around in the sun rays.

Eventually, I got up as well and made my way to the living room where Jeff sat on the couch with his laptop. He was typing something, probably talking to someone. As I walked closer I could feel anger radiating off of him.

"What's up with you?" I asked.

Due to my question being ignored I sat next to him and asked again a little more aggressively. "Hey, what's up?"

Jeff put his laptop to the side, laid back and put his hands over his face, rubbing it in frustration. He then turned to me. "This guy, who thinks he's my boss wants to see me. And you too."

I frowned. "You have a boss? You work for someone?"

"According to him. I don't give a fuck what he tells me. The thing is that he has a lot of power under his hand." He sighed in between his complains. "If I don't take you to him he'll come to you. Or send someone and when that happens don't expect anything good."

"But why does he need to see me?" I asked confused.

"Because he thinks that it's your fault that I caused all that ruckus on national tv. And because I killed very specific people. That being people that were close to you, causing a lot of movement in that case. He supposedly has to do a lot of work to calm everyone down." Jeff spoke casually. That sent a huge wave of anger through me.

"How is it my fault?! You're the psycho here. I'm the victim. I never asked you to even get involved in my life!" I raged.

"Oh quit it. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and grow up. 'I'm the victim' she says. I mean, goddamn, are there a lot of people in the world who would literally kill for you? Sure, they say they would, but they never really do it. However me? You name it, I'll kill anyone if only you want me to. I'm trying to give you a better life here."

"Jeff! Don't you get it? That's like the opposite of what I want you to do. I don't want you to kill anyone. And you're not giving me a better life. You're doing this for yourself so you quit it!" Our quarrel ended with an intense stare off.

"Get ready. We're leaving in 5 minutes." Jeff said as he got up and walked off. I didn't have much to get ready on. I had no stuff here. So I just sat there until we had to leave.

We were on a highway. It's been a good 30 minutes on the road now. Neither of us was talking. I decided to break the silence. "So... where does this boss of yours live?"

"First of all, please, let's not call him my boss. It pisses me off enough that he thinks he can order me around." Jeff grunted.

"Oh, so it's not okay for him to order you around, but you can order me around as much as you want?" I said sarcastically.

"Seriously, will you ever stop? You're like a never ending complain tape." He was almost impressed with my stubbornness.

"Well, maybe you'll think a little wether you really want to have a 'complain tape" around you all the time." I smirked.

"You can't change my mind about you, (y/n). If anything. I like your stubbornness." He smirked back. In return I gave him a childish frown. To which he chuckled a little. The mood in the van was a bit brighter now. Surprisingly, I even felt a little more relaxed.

Looking through the window I tried to recognize where were we going. No use. Everything around was foreign to me. After a little more time had passed we drove into a wooded area. The deeper we went the more trees there were and eventually the road stopped. The van wouldn't be able to fit through the threes so we had to walk.

"Again, where exactly are we going?" I asked, feeling a bit uneasy.

"To the mansion." Jeff gave me a short answer with no further explanation. I decided to just wait and see, instead of asking more questions.

Shortly, we reached what I assumed Jeff called 'the mansion'. It was a mansion indeed. A dark wood old mansion. Big as well, at least three stories. And I bet it had a basement. The sides of it were covered in vines and the windows were quite dirty, making it hard to see what's inside.

Jeff walked straight to the front door and I followed hesitantly. We entered. The inside of this mansion was just as dark. Not a lot of light could go through those rusty windows. Everything was dusty and old. Seemed like it wasn't cleaned for decades.

The room we were in now was a wide hallway with a couple of arcs on each side and stairs a bit further on the right. There was no ceiling where we were standing, just a view of a second floor halfway, fenced my a wooden railing.

"Stay close to me. It's dangerous for you in here." Jeff warned me. Without any arguing I took a few steps closer to him as something about this place really did give me chills. It just didn't feel right.

We proceeded to walk up the stairs, then to the right and down the dark hall until we stopped by a door at the end of it.

After a little silence and staring at that door, making worried mimics Jeff finally spoke. "Wait for me right behind this door. Don't go anywhere. I won't take long. I hope." Then he entered the room in front of us.

I looked around. This place seemed to be empty, but I knew it wasn't. I had a strong feeling of some kind of presence.

The hall was dark. It didn't have any windows. The only source of life was at the end of it, where the stairs were. I squinted my eyes to be able to see better as a wall light suddenly turned on, making me jump. I looked around again in hopes of seeing who could have done it, but no one was there.

I soon gave up and turned to the door, hoping Jeff would come out quicker. The light then turned off again, giving me a mini heart attack, but at the same time pissing me off a bit.

"Who's there?" I asked, trying to sound confident. After not receiving any reply I added. " I know someone's here. Who are you?"

"The real question is, who are you?" It was a male voice right behind me. What really creeped me out was that a couple of words doubled in voice like a computer glitch. I quickly turned around to see no one. My breathing was getting heavier. Jeff was definitely out of ordinarily, but this was just bizarre.

I heard that same voice chuckle. Again with the glitches. I couldn't identify where was it coming from.

"Well, actually I do know you. From the time you made all that mess on tv." The unclear voice kept talking.

"I didn't do shit! Jeff did all of it. Why does everyone blame me?"

"Because you were his inspiration, silly. If not for you he wouldn't have gone through all that trouble of asking me and mostly asking Jane for help. Not even sure why she agreed to help him..."

"Dude." I cut him off. "Would you come here and talk to me face to face? Because I don't know if you realize, but it a bit weird talking to air."

"Watch it with the sass, sweetheart. People here aren't the most tolerant. You never know when you're gonna get yourself in trouble." This time the voice came from behind me again and when I turned around I saw a Link from the Legend of Zelda lookalike. Expect his eyes were red with black sclera and blood was running out of them.

"So you're (y/n)." He scanned me with his stare.

"How'd you know?" I asked in surprise.

He grinned. "I have my ways. And by the way, I'm BEN."

"Umm... nice to meet you, I guess." I was doubtful about this guy.

"Sure is sad that we're not supposed to touch you or hurt you. I'd love to have some fun with a pretty girl like you" BEN gave me a smirk. I frowned at him and opened my mouth to speak, but before I could Jeff slammed the door open and his gaze locked on us.

"The fuck are you doing, BEN? Get away from her, you little cunt. She's mine!" He growled.

"C'mon, Jeffrey. Haven't you ever learned that sharing is caring?" BEN said jokingly, following with a laugh. I could tell that Jeff was about to lose it. But he managed to stay put. Even though he seemed like he was in a shitty mood to begin with after he left that room. I wonder what happened in there.

"(Y/n), let's go." He mumbled, giving BEN a death glare.

"What happened?" I asked.

"He said we'll have to live here in the mansion for a while until he makes sure you're not 'trouble' according to him." Jeff explained.

"Wait. Who's he?"

"Slenderman."
