Fred hesitantly looked away from you, not really wanting to though. Angelina looked up at him, placing her hands on his chest.
"You okay?" She asked, not noticing you sobbing into Hermione's shoulder behind him.
Fred looked down at her, the gears once again turning in his head. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. Angelina raised an eyebrow at his sudden silence since he was usually very talkative.
"I gotta go, I'll see you later." He finally mumbled, pulling away from her touch and walking away without even giving her a kiss goodbye.
Angelina furrowed her eyebrows, turning to George who only shrugged his shoulders.
Although George acted clueless, he knew what his twin was thinking about. He knew he'd finally realized his mistakes.
Fred let out a sigh, his hands shaking as he fingered through pictures of the two of you. In each of them, you had this huge smile on your face, a smile that was only seen when the two of you were together. Fred couldn't remember the last time he'd saw that smile.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't forget you. You haunted his mind every second of every day.
The two of you had been friends for years, ever since you sat in the train compartment the twins had been in when the three of you were heading to Hogwarts for the first time.
When the three of you entered your third year, Fred had realized that he had feelings for you. Of course, he thought you didn't feel the same way. So he got with Angelina, thinking she could help him get over you. Yeah, he thought Angelina was pretty, I mean who didn't? But he didn't like her like he liked you. He loved you.
So here he sat, nearing the end of his fifth year, holding photos of you close to him.
"I'm a fucking idiot..." He whispered to himself, finally coming to the realization of what he'd done.
He had to fix this.
Fred walked up to George and Angelina, his heart set on making things right.
Once he got to them Angelina grinned, immediately wrapping her arms around Fred. He didn't hug back though. Instead, he stood still for a moment before pushing her off of him gently.
"We need to talk Angelina." He mumbled, struggling to keep eye contact with her.

She furrowed her eyebrows and waited for him to continue, not knowing what was wrong with him.
"We can't be together anymore. It's not you, I promise. I just... I don't really have those feelings for you. I see you more as a sister than a girlfriend. You're a great girl Angelina. You're kind, smart, pretty, and so many other things. There is someone out there who can give you all the love you truly deserve, I'm just not that person." He said, hoping she wouldn't freak out.
Angelina stayed quiet for a moment, trying to process his words. Letting out a small sigh she pulled his sweater out of her bag, holding it in her arms.
"I understand Fred, it was nice while it lasted. I hope we can still be friends." She said quietly, handing the sweater back to him.
To be honest, Angelina had actually been rethinking their relationship lately. She'd noticed she had started feeling something for George, something she didn't really feel for Fred.
Fred gave her a soft smile and nodded, taking the sweater from her.
"I'll see you guys later." She said, looking to George and giving him a sweet smile, making the redhead's cheeks tinge pink.
And just like that, she was gone. After she'd walked away Fred let out a sigh of relief.
"At least that's over," George mumbled.
Fred nodded and looked at the sweater in his hands, thinking about how he'd given you one similar before he went and ruined everything between the two of you.
"Now comes the hard part..." He said quietly, wondering how he could possibly gain your trust once more.
"It'll be hard, but you just have to show her how much you truly love her." George explained, putting a hand on his brother's back
George was right, he had to make you know his true feelings.
You walked down the hall, silent as usual, with your books pressed against your chest. You'd been doing a little bit better lately, your friends being by your side to help you through it. Suddenly, someone stepped into line beside you, walking along with you. You looked up, a bit surprised to see Fred. But you quickly covered up your surprised expression with a solemn one.
"What?" You mumbled out, looking away from the taller boy.
Fred frowned at your change of expression, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked beside you.
"I would say I'm sorry but I know that's nowhere near enough to gain your trust back." He said, noticing how your expression changed slightly at his words, giving him a little bit of hope.
When you didn't reply he continued to speak.
"I fucked up okay. Big time. I fell for you and I didn't think you felt the same way. So I decided to be an idiot and get with Angelina, thinking she would make my feelings for you disappear. But I was wrong. It actually made me fall for you more if anything. And when I saw what I did to you, my heart broke knowing that it was all my fault. That I was the reason you were crying. I never wanted to be the cause of your tears Y/N. I always wanted to be the one who wiped them from your eyes and put a smile back on that beautiful face of yours. You're all I want Y/N. Now and for the rest of my life." He said, the emotion evident on his face as he spoke.

You stood still for a moment, just looking at the floor as you processed his words. If you were being honest, this was what you always wanted. For Fred to tell you how he felt. But this really the circumstances you wanted it to happen in.
"Fred..." You mumbled, trailing off as you finally looked up at him.
Seeing the look on his face made you want to through your arms around him and kiss him as hard as you could, but you couldn't do that, not after what he had done to you.
"I don't think you realize how long I've wanted you to tell me that Freddie... that's all I ever wanted... But not in this way... I want to be with you, I really do. But I'm still trying to heal. You really hurt me Fred. Just... just give me some time okay? I just need some time for myself." You explained, giving him the smallest smile you could muster.
Fred hadn't really expected for you to forgive him immediately. He actually throught you'd outright reject him, so this was actually not that bad. He nodded, giving you the same small smile in return.
"I understand. I'm willing to wait. I don't care if it's days or even years. As long as it takes, I'll be right here." He said softly, hesitantly reaching for one of your hands.
You let him take your hand in his, slowly locking your fingers with his. You watched as he pulled your hand up, placing a small kiss to your knuckles.
"Just tell me when, I'll be here" He whispered, letting go of your hand even though he didn't want to.
Your eyes followed him as he smiled once more before walking away from you. Letting out a shaky breath you closed your eyes, collecting yourself.
As the days went by, Fred continued to watch you. Every day you looked a little bit happier, almost like yourself again. It made Fred happy to see you smiling again, hoping you would come back to him soon, but he was willing to wait a lifetime for you.
The two of you hadn't really spoken much since he confessed to you, wanting to give you all the space you needed. But there was always the occasional smile or hello in the hallways as you both went to class.
George had just caught Fred looking at you again and he placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, making him look to see what he needed. George smiled at him slightly making Fred smile back.
"She's almost there Freddie, just a little bit more." George said encouragingly.
Fred nodded, tearing his eyes away from his twin to look at you once more, smiling as you laughed along with Hermonie.
Fred sat at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, shoving the last of his dinner into his mouth. Suddenly someone sat down beside him, thinking it was his twin coming back to the bathroom he spoke without looking up.
"Did you fall in Georgie? Your food is bound to be cold by now." He said with a small laugh, wiping his face with a napkin.
You giggled slightly, a grin on your face.
"Hate to break it to you Freddie, but I'm not your dear brother. He might be a little backed up, maybe you should check on him." You said, not being able to help the widening smile.
Hearing your voice, Fred's head whipped towards yours, a look of shock on his face. He quickly tried to compose himself, not wanting to seem as surprised as he was. You giggled once more and reached for both of his hands, taking them in your smaller ones and running your thumbs over his knuckles. That's when Fred noticed what you were wearing, the sweater he'd given you months ago. His face lit up at the sight, squeezing your hands.
"Are you okay?" He asked, hoping you had finally come back to him for good.
You nodded, scooting closer to him and moving his hands so they sat on your hips while yours moved to wrap around his neck.
"So, if I were to do this," Fred trailed off, leaning in so your lips were almost touching. You could feel his breath against your lips as his eyes stayed locked with yours. "You wouldn't mind?" He muttered under his breath, you shaking your head slightly before leaning in the rest of the way so your lips connected.
You'd been waiting years for this moment. The moment when you could finally say Fred Weasley was yours.
When the two of you separated you laid your forehead against his. Both of you couldn't help but smile widely at each other.
"Be mine?" Fred whispered, making you bite your lip to stop yourself from screaming in happiness.
"I've been yours for awhile now Fred. Happy to finally make it official."
Fred grinned wildly, pulling you closer by your waist, practically placing you in his lap.
"Godric, I love you woman." He muttered, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
The smile on your face could only be explained as true love.
"And I love you my dear Freddie..." You whispered, your hand coming up to run through his hair.
Turns out you didn't need to get over Fred Weasley, and you were okay with that.
And that was good enough.

New chapter every other day Iain Compton never planned to be abducted by an alien spaceship. It just… happened. Oh, and then there's this gorgeous alien woman who he probably shouldn’t trust at all. His plan is to find a way home to Earth, even if its unlikely to be remotely the same; to find a better class of companions among an often strange and inexplicable galactic community, at least one who won’t use him or sell him out at the first opportunity; and to do something about the parasites in his brain who are supposed to connect him to a library the size of the galaxy, but seem to only be telling him that almost everyone and everything he comes across wants to kill him.
