The only sounds that could be heard around you were the gasps and cries of others seeing their loved ones lay on the ground unmoving. The battle that had just happened was horrible, so many familiar faces at Hogwarts were now being covered with sheets as people cried over them.
You kneeled on the ground, silent tears streaming down your face. Your fingers ran through Fred's hair as he laid before you. Molly kneeled behind you, a hand rubbing your upper back as tears fell down her cheeks also.
"What am I supposed to do without you?" You whispered, your voice cracking a little.
Molly leaned closer to you, pressing a loving kiss to the crown of your head. The tears began to fall harder and a sob finally slipped out, your hand shaking as it moved from his hair to take one of his hands in your own.
You squeezed his hand in yours, wanting his eyes to open once more, and for him to tell you it was just another one of his pranks. But of course, that wasn't going to happen. You had been there when the explosion happened. You had been the one to yell for him to get out of the way. When you yelled at him, everything seemed to move in slow motion. He turned to look at you giving you a sad smile. The look in his eyes said 'I'm sorry my love...' You screamed as smoke filled the air, you not being able to see him. You had run blindly through the smoke, trying to catch a glimpse of your red-headed boyfriend. Seeing just the tip of his shoe you slid onto the ground beside him, choked sobs leaving your mouth as you took his hand in yours. Fred gave you a weak smile and you began yelling for help. He shushed you, knowing it was hopeless.
"P-please Freddie... I can't lose you too... just stay with me okay? You're gonna be just fine..." you practically begged, still looking around frantically for someone.

Fred pulled you closer to him with the best of his ability. Your eyes locked with his as your bottom lip trembled.
"Listen to me, my love... promise me you'll continue on... you're gonna do great things Y/N. And take care of George for me..." He whispered, his voice getting quieter as he spoke.
You shook your head, blubbering out a string of no's.
"Y-you can't l-leave Fred! I need you! W-we all need you!" You managed between sobs.
Fred shakily brought your hand to his lips, pressing multiple small kisses to your knuckles as tears pooled in his own eyes.
"I'll always love you Y/N. Don't ever forget that. I...I'll see you soon my love..." He got out before giving you one last smile. The smile slowly faded as he stilled, his hand going limp in yours.
A harsh scream of a sob left your lips as you realized he was gone. A few people came over, two of them being George and Percy. George held back tears as he gently pulled you away from Fred's body, trying to get out of his grasp while you reached helplessly for your lover. Eventually giving in you collapsed in George's arms as you sobbed. George sucked in a shaky breath as he watched Percy check Fred's pulse and shake him slightly. Percy looked up, a deep frown on his face and tears going down his cheeks. He looked at George and shook his head. A small sob left George's lips as he held you close, the two of you crying together. Percy came over and joined, wrapping his arms around the both of you. All three of your bodies shook with sobs.
You were broken out of your thoughts by George who had kneeled down in front of you. His eyes were red and puffy, still glazed over. You hiccuped, looking up at him with eyes like his. Molly had gotten up and was currently comforting a crying Ron who had recently walked up, Harry and Hermione in tow. George held his arms open for you to fall into them once more, him needing the comfort just as much as you did. Hesitantly you let go of Fred's hand, letting your body be pulled into George's chest. The tears started once more for the both of you.
He was actually gone...
George petted your hair as he rocked the two of you back and forth slightly, just like Fred used to do. You let out broken sobs into his chest, gripping his shirt with your hands. Hermione and Harry came over and hugged the two of you as Percy had done before. You couldn't hear any sobs over yours but you knew they were crying too. Slowly everyone else joined in on the hug too. Bill, Fleur, Arthur, Molly, Percy, Ginny, and Ron. Everyone just held each other as they cried.

It had been three years since Fred had died. You had done what he said. You had continued on. It hurt, it still hurts, but you're slowly healing. You had become the new transfiguration teacher, knowing that Fred had adored that class. A year after the battle, you and some other students and faculty helped to set up a memorial for all those lost. Every day you would go to the memorial, always stopping in front of Fred's picture. You'd tell him about your day, what you ate, who you talked to. He'd always loved to be filled in on everything that went on so you continued that. At the moment you lived in the guest bedroom of George and Angelina's house in Hogsmeade. Both you and George were still healing and having the other right down the hallway helped. George had taken over as the Gryffindor quidditch coach, the position offered to him because of Fred and his impact on the team.
The day started out rough, it being the three year anniversary of the battle and Fred's death. You and George drove to the school in silence, you looking at the trees pass outside the window.
"He's here you know? He's always here. Watching over us and making sure we're okay." George spoke suddenly.
You looked over at him, giving him a soft smile.
"You're right. He's always been here." You whispered, taking George's hand when he reached across the console.
Once the two of you got to the school you parted ways, George going to the field locker room and you heading into the castle. You headed straight to the memorial to tell Fred good morning. You smiled weakly at the picture, the smile on his face making you feel all fuzzy inside.
"Good morning my love... it's been three years since we lost you. We miss you. All of us. I can't wait to see you again my love..." You whispered, tears pricking your eyes.
Kissing your fingers you placed them against the picture before sniffling a little. You continued your walk to your classroom, smiling and nodding to a few students you passed. Suddenly you hear a large cracking sound and someone calling out for you to watch out. Looking up you saw that one of the chandeliers had broken and was currently falling towards you. There was no time to think, the only thing that popped into your head was Fred. He stood before you, holding out his hand. Right as you reached for him everything went black.

You sat up with a gasp, your breathing heavy. You could feel soft grass under the palms of your hands and sunshine shown onto your face. Standing up, you looked around confusedly, trying to figure out where you were.
"I'm Mr. Loverman..." you hear a familiar voice say from behind you.
Whipping around you gasped once more, meeting the eyes of the love of your life.
"And I've missed my lover, man." You mumbled, tears quickly filling your eyes.
Breaking the distance you jumped into Fred's arms. He held you tightly, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
"Oh, my sweet girl... it feels so good to have you in my arms once more..." Fred whispered as tears fell down your cheeks.
Fred knew that you would be joining him soon, as much as he hated you having to die he knew it was fate. He'd been counting down the days until he got to see your beautiful face again, only hoping you hadn't taken another lover while he had been gone.
"Oh, Freddie..." you whispered in a shaky voice.
Fred pulled back to look at you, his own tears being revealed to you.
"My sweet beautiful girl... I have missed you so much, my dear..." He mumbled, a watery smile adorning his face.
Without a second thought, you stood on your tiptoes and pressed your lips to his in a kiss. You felt the fireworks all over again and the butterflies filled your stomach, something you haven't felt in years.
"I'm never letting you go again my Freddie. Never."
Fred smiled and rested his forehead against yours, his eyes closing.
"Good, because we have forever now."

The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
8 205The Cage
Mighty abominations and their more powerful gods dance between the galaxies in eternal migration, exploring, experimenting and playing. They leave destruction in their wake, heedless of the suffering of the sapients they slaughter, alter or drive to extinction as they toy with entire star systems for passing amusement. These monsters are called mankind. They are finally betrayed and defeated, but they cannot be killed. They are diminished and stripped of all memory of what they were, locked in a bottle reality on a false world called Earth. For thousands of years, mingled shards of their Broken Gods continue to chance across the cage that holds the species of their birth. The shards merge with suitable hosts to create empowered archetypes who awaken to supernatural Gifts and fractured dreams of a lost history. The greatest among them are magnificent heroes and villains: The Vigilante. The Mastermind. The Assassin. The Polymath. This is the story of their inferiors: The Beggar. The Homewrecker. The Gambler. The Henchman. The Miser. The Monster. Together, they will attempt to save the world, free humankind and escape the Cage. This will probably end really badly. *Cover art taken from internet source of free-use, uncopyrighted photos and images.
