《Friends Don't》Chapter Twelve

"Grayson, sleep on the couch next time," I yelled at him causing him to stir awake.

We were laying side by side on my twin sized bed, and he was always either on his back or stomach so he took up most of the bed leaving me the tiniest spot. This time he was on his back.

"I fell asleep," he mumbled.

This time, I was on the side near the wall, so I was squished between him and the wall. "Yeah, you make a habit of doing that."

I lifted myself up to sit, and then started to crawl over him. He was so near the edge of the bed that my knee almost slipped off and I fell down on him. His eyes shot open and his hands were on my thighs within seconds, but I'm pretty sure that was because it was obvious I almost fell off the bed, and then a smirk appeared as he looked at me sitting on his lap, straddling him. "Damn, babe."

"Shut up," I said unamused, but then started to laugh at the situation. "That was not supposed to happen," I said while crawling off and standing beside the bed.

"You two just get cuter and cuter everyday," I heard Lana say, and I spun around to see her and Derek sat up in her bed looking over at us with smiles.

I shook my head. "I'm just going to ignore you." I grabbed some clothes and headed for the bathroom.

"Cuter and cuter," she yelled.

"Ignoring you," I yelled back and then stepped into the bathroom.

"Oh, shit," I heard just as I shut the door.

I turned to the shower and saw one of our bathroom buddies and some guy getting it on in the shower. "In the fucking shower? We have to share that, you know," I screamed at them, obviously surprising them by my angered tone and my lack of acknowledgment that they were standing there naked and he was, most definitely, out there for all to see. They quickly grabbed towels covering themselves looking at me embarrassed.

I swung the door open and stepped back into our room. "You better bleach that fucking shower," I yelled at them and slammed the door shut.

Three pairs of eyes were staring at me like I'd lost my mind. "Well, it's been tainted," I told Lana.

She pouted. "That's the one rule we made with them. No sex in the bathroom."

"Turn around, boys," I told Derek and Grayson, as I reached for the hem of my hoodie.

Derek turned around, pulling Lana down on the bed with him and she started giggling. Grayson, on the other hand, sat on my bed looking up at me. "Do I have to?" he asked with his brows raised in question.

I grabbed a pillow, pushed it against his face, and then pushed the pillow knocking him on his back. "Yes," I told him.

"Fine," he mumbled into the pillow.

I quickly changed, keeping an eye on Grayson to make sure he didn't peek, and he didn't.

"Okay, I'm done," I said and Grayson went to remove the pillow from his face but I shoved it back. "Not yet, pretty boy. Lana's turn."

"Aw, you think I'm pretty?" he mumbled, and I slapped the top of the pillow. "Ow," he said.

When Lana was finished changing I moved the pillow. "Finally," Grayson grumbled.

I grabbed the pillow and smacked his arm with it.

He looked up at me, his lips parted slightly. "What was that for?" He grabbed the pillow and hit me, causing me to lose my balance and stumble a little.

When I regained my balance my mouth hung open as I stared at him with a devilish smirk on his lips. I reached for the pillow but he held it away while he used his free arm to hold me back. Then he hit me with it, again.

I climbed onto the bed standing up, while I grabbed hold of the pillow and we fought for it. He gave a quick pull in his direction and pulled me with it, me landing on top of the pillow on top of him.

"You're smothering me," he managed to say.

"What was that?" I said while continuing to lay on top of him, the pillow pressed against his face. "I can't hear you."

"Ellie," he mumbled while pushing on the pillow.

I started laughing and fell onto my back on the bed taking the pillow with me and letting it lay on my chest.

"You're evil," he pouted.

I tried to stop laughing but the tone in his voice made it hard. I tossed the pillow in the air at him, not expecting it to come back, but it did, hitting me in the face, stopping my laughter.

"Why try to kill me?"

"I could hear and feel you breathing just fine, Grayson. Don't be so dramatic," I told him.

He huffed. "Whatever."

"Are you two done playing, now? We have class in five minutes, and it's a ten minute walk," Lana said.

We all jumped up and headed out of the room. When we made it outside Lana jumped on to Derek's back and I jumped on to Grayson's back at the same time, neither of us knowing the other was going to do it, but it played out well.

They ran to class while we enjoyed the free ride, people staring at us as we went by.

When we burst through the classroom door all eyes were on us and even the professor looked up at us with questioning eyes but said nothing. We took our seats and let her begin the lecture.

After class Derek and Grayson decided to go work out, and since Lana and I had, absolutely, no time for that, we went to the diner to grab breakfast.

"When are you going to admit it?" Lana asked me.

"Admit what?" I looked up to make eye contact with her but the menu was blocking her face.

"That you like Grayson."

"I never said I didn't like him?" I took a sip of my water and looked down at my menu.

"No," she began as she set the menu on the table rather harshly, causing me to look up at her. "I mean like him."

"Oh, that's such bullshit, Lana."

"Is it?"

The waiter came up to our table interrupting our conversation just long enough to take our orders and leave.

"Yes, it is."

'Whatever you say," she began and then added sugar to her tea, "but he, obviously, likes you, too."

"Wrong. We're just friends."

"Oh, Grayson, I love you," Lana sang from her side of the room.

"Shut the fuck up, Lana," I told her through gritted teeth. It was nearing nine at night and she had been going on for hours just randomly blurting crap like that out in the random bits of silence. "I'm trying to watch this show."

Lana said nothing, but her giggling filled the room.

Lana was laying on her back with her eyes to the ceiling as she clutched a pillow to her chest. I was sat with my back against the wall while trying to watch TV.

"Oh," Lana began, and I watched as our door started to open revealing Derek and Grayson. "Oh, yeah, baby, right there, that's the spot," Lana moaned.

I was watching Derek and Grayson stand just barely in our room with shocked faces, while I sat with an amused expression.

"Uh, what's going on?" Derek asked, though you could sense in his voice he was unsure about asking.

Lana's body shot up to a sitting position. Her face was filled with shock and embarrassment. "Nothing!"

"Guess you forgot you told them they could just walk right in, huh?" I said to her, my face still beaming with amusement.

She shoved the pillow against her face and fell back.

"Well," Grayson began as he held up two sacks of take out, "we brought the food."

My eyes lit up as I jumped to my feet. "My man!" I grabbed the bags from him and rummaged through them.

"Is that right?" he asked.

"Simmer down there, boy," I said looking up at his raised brows and barely noticeable smirk. I patted his arm. "I can't be held responsible for anything I say when I'm in the presence of delicious food."

I looked over to Lana who still had her pillow covering her face. "Lana, you've embarrassed yourself. It's done. Get over it." I tossed the wrapped burger and it bounced off her pillow landing beside her on the bed. She threw the pillow to the side and sat up grabbing the burger, but she still looked embarrassed.

I grabbed my burger out of the bag and sat down on the far left side of the couch while Grayson sat on the far right. I leaned my back against the armrest and let my legs stretch out across the couch. "I can't believe you were even man enough to hold the bag," I told Grayson just before taking a bite.

"I didn't want to."

"Want a bite?" I held the burger out to him.

"I was nice enough to bring it to you, don't push it."

"So, what exactly did we walk in on not long ago?" Derek asked us.

"Lana getting hot and heavy with her pillow," I said over my shoulder at him.

"Actually, I was-"

I cut her off. "Lana, why don't you shove the burger in your mouth."

"You were what?" Grayson asked curiously.

"I was-"

I cut her off, again. "She was nothing," I said.

"It doesn't matter. You guys wouldn't understand, anyway," she told them.

An hour later the guys left. I crawled into bed and pulled the sheets to my chin, relishing in the fact that I would get to enjoy my full bed this time, yet it was weird at the same time because I wasn't squished against the wall or holding on to the edge for dear life in hopes I didn't fall off.
