《Friends Don't》Chapter Six

Since Lana moved in with me things weren't as quiet as they used to be. Derek was over at our place a lot.

It was Friday night and we were having the study night that Lana wanted so badly. I knew it was harder for her, and she hated that I didn't really have to study. It wasn't my fault that I learned things pretty quickly.

So, Lana, Derek, Grayson, Tyler, and me all sat around our tiny dorm room having a quick meal before the studying began.

At first I wasn't sure how it would be with Tyler and me around everyone, but everything was fine, believe it or not. Even though everyone in the room knew we hooked up not one time was it ever brought up, thankfully. Not that it was bad, but wouldn't that be a little awkward? I don't know.

Everyone was sitting around with books sprawled out on the floor and Lana's bed.

"Are you not going to join?" Lana questioned me from across the room.

She was on her bed with Derek sitting at the end. Tyler was on the floor laid out. Grayson was sat up leaned against my bed, and I was laid out on my bed staring up at the ceiling.

"I told you I already studied."

"Just because you're smart and don't need to doesn't mean you can't join in on the fun," she said.

I rolled my eyes letting out a groan. "Fine." I grabbed my book from my bag and dived in with them.

After an hour Lana and Derek were both laying on their stomachs on her bed. I was sat up, and Grayson and Tyler had found their ways on to my bed.

I was bored and wanted to quit studying long ago, but I helped them anyway.

It was around three in the morning when I woke up. Looking across the room Lana and Derek were asleep with his arm around her and her cuddled into him. Tyler was laying on his back asleep at the end of my bed with his feet hanging off the side, and Grayson was laying beside me on his stomach. His head was facing the wall away from me but his arm was draped over me.

"Grayson, I whispered shaking him.

"Mm," he mumbled but didn't wake or move.

"Grayson." I punched his arm.

He lifted his head a little and turned to me. His eyes were barely open. "What the hell was that for?"

"Your arm."

"What?" he asked and then it was as though it finally registered and he moved his arm off of me throwing it up over his head. "Gripey ass," he mumbled before laying his head back down.

I laid back down and closed my eyes. I really didn't want Grayson and Tyler hogging up more than half of my twin sized bed but I was, also, too tired to do anything about it.

"Isn't this cute." I could hear the faintest sound of Lana's voice.

My eyes slowly opened but then I jumped noticing Lana hovered over me. "What are you doing?" I yelled.

She let out the smallest giggle and smiled. "I said, isn't this cute."

I followed the gaze of her eyes. Grayson was, now, lying on his back and his left arm was over my bare thigh laying in between my legs. I kicked up my leg, but his arm just fell back in its place. I did manage to accidentally kick Tyler in the side waking him up. Then I started slapping Grayson's arm with the back of my hand.

"Why are you abusing me, again," Grayson muttered, his eyes fluttering open as they adjusted to the light.

"Why do you keep putting your arms on me?"

He jerked his arm away from me. "I didn't mean to," he said and then the aggravation in his voice left and he smirked. "Because if I did, believe me you would know."

I rolled my eyes.

All the while Lana and Derek stood looking at us amused, and Tyler just looked on confused. "Looks like you two had a cozy night," Lana said smiling.

"This is still my room and I can kick you out at anytime," I told her.

Her smile fell to a frown. "I was just saying."

A knock on the door dropped the conversation of Grayson and me, thankfully. I jumped from my bed and headed for the door, turning to Lana. "Maybe it's your old roommate coming back for you."

'Shut up!" she yelled.

I opened the door just enough for me to look out. "Yes?" I asked the girl standing there looking at me confused, and then maybe a little pissed? Yeah, I think she was pissed.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"Who are you?" I gave her back the same attitude she gave me.

"I'm looking for Tyler." She attempted to peer inside the room but I didn't have the door open enough to see in. "I should have known I'd find him with some slut."

My eyes widened in disbelief but I was almost amused. "Excuse me?"

This girl stood at least two inches shorter than my 5'6" height. She was dressed in what looked like last nights party outfit and her blonde hair was slightly ruffled. The smell of alcohol was barely evident as she spoke but it was there. "I'm his ex, though I'm assuming my name never came up."

"Considering you haven't told me your name I don't know."

"Stacie," she said her hands on her hips.

"Yeah, he's mentioned you," I began swinging the door open wider and taking a step to the side for her to come in. "He just failed to mention you're a bitch."

"What did you say?" she yelled, stumbling her way into my room.

Tyler was still laying on the bed with Grayson, but jumped to his feet when he saw her. "Stacie, what are you doing here?"

"Did I stutter?" I eyed her. "I said you're a bitch."

She spun around facing Tyler. "Are you going to let her talk to me like that?"

Lana, Derek, and Grayson, who had now sat up in bed, were eyeing Stacie and me waiting to see how things were going to unfold.

"What? You can't fight your own battles, Stacie?" I asked her.

"I already called you a slut, what more do you want?" she questioned.

"What are you doing here?" Tyler asked her again, breaking us up. "How did you even know I was here?"

"I tracked your phone." Her head fell. "Then I ran into someone here who said they saw you come in here.

Grayson snicked in the background. "Got a leash on you, bud," he told Tyler.

Tyler ignored him, but even I found his comment funny but bit back my laugh. "Why would you do that?" he asked her.

"Because I tried to reach you this weekend but you ignored me." She looked at me. "Then someone told me you were out all weekend with last nights trash."

Without giving myself time to think I clenched my fist, reared back my arm, and punched her in the face. As she fell back on her ass I said, "fuck you, bitch."

"Oh shit," Grayson said shocked, letting out a laugh before shutting up when Tyler hit his arm.

"What the hell," Stacie said in a high pitched screech.

"Get out of my room," I told her. I was angry but held it back easily.

She looked up at Tyler. "Are you really going to let her just hit me?" She stood up looking at Tyler as if waiting for him to say something to defend her.

Tyler stood scratching the back of his head looking like he wanted to get as far away as he possibly could.

"Don't make me throw you out," I told her.

She gave Tyler one last look, but seeing he wasn't going to defend her in anyway, she stomped out of my room.

"That's the ex you still have feelings for?" I questioned him. I was in disbelief that he would have ever had feelings for her in the first place. He was so sweet and caring, and she was the pile of shit you try to avoid stepping in.

"I'm sorry, she's never acted like that before," he apologized to me. "I know I should probably leave but I really don't want to run into her right now."

"You don't have to leave," I said. It's not his fault his ex is a psycho.

"El, I can't believe you just punched her," Lana said still surprised.

"Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have done that."

Grayson was still sitting on the side of my bed, but I crawled around him and threw myself down staring up at the ceiling. It was still far too early in the morning for that much drama.
