《Friends Don't》Chapter Four

Snow had made its way to town just a few days ago. It hadn't been too bad, yet, but I was already tired of it.
I pulled my beanie further over my ears as I headed to Psychology class. All I wanted to do was snuggle under a blanket in my warm dorm room.
When I walked into the class I began making my way down the aisle attempting to pass Lana and the guys, pretending I didn't see them, but a hand wrapped around my arm pulling me back.
"Where are you going?" Lana's voice sounded from behind me.
I spun around. "Oh, I didn't see you there." I gave her an innocent smile before sitting down.
"Sure you didn't," she said.
I greeted Derek and then turned my attention to the front of the class. "Hey, Ellie," I heard Grayson say. "Hi," I told him not averting my eyes from the teacher, not even when Lana gave my arm a small nudge.
After class I wanted to leave in a hurry but the students that made it out before me were slow like usual. Lana walked beside me with Derek who had his arm over her shoulders. Grayson walked along the other side of me.
"I'm still trying to figure out what it is that makes you not like me," Grayson said to me.
"Me too."
"What is that supposed to mean?" he asked.
"I don't know." I kept my focus straight ahead. "There's just something about you that irks me," I told him, to which Derek started laughing.
"What's so funny?" Grayson asked him, reaching behind us girls and lightly shoving him.
Derek's arm fell from around Lana. "I don't know, man." He lightly shoved him back laughing. "Maybe that there's finally a girl here that doesn't fall at your feet."
"Shut up," Grayson said.
"Hey, are we still on for our study night, tonight?" Lana asked me.
"Oh shit, I forgot about it." I shoved my hands further Into my coat pockets as we hit the cold air. "I have plans."
Lana crossed her arms under her breasts pressing tight against her. "What plans? What about tomorrow?"
"Well, let's just say," I began as I spun to face her walking backwards. "If tonight goes good I might just be busy tomorrow, too." A sly smile spread across my lips.
Lana's jaw dropped. "Who is it?"
"Bye," I gave a small wave to them and started to walk off.
I could hear Lana call after me, "Who is it?" and when I didn't reply she yelled louder as the distance grew, "you better tell me later!"

Classes were over for the day so I headed back to my dorm to take a nap and relax and then get ready for the night.
The diner was busy. I just barely grabbed a table before the people that walked in after me took it. I was a few minutes early, so I sat down and scrolled through social media, finding most of it boring, but needing some way to pass the time.
"Sorry, I'm late."
I looked up from my phone as Tyler slid into the booth in front of me. I checked the time on my phone. "You're a minute late." I laughed sliding my phone into my purse.
We took some time in silence looking over the menus before ordering.
"So, have you recovered from the awful party, yet?" he asked me as the waiter walked off.
I grinned. "I have, thankfully."
"I'm glad we could finally get together," he said.
"Me too."
Tyler and I had been talking the past few days, ever since the night of the party. We'd seen each other in passing, but this was the first time we both found the time to, actually, get together and hang out.
When our meal arrived we sat and made some small talk. We talked about our classes, we didn't have any classes together so it made for nice conversation. We had the same Psychology professor, and turns out that while she's calm and nice in the mornings when I have the class, in the afternoon she seems to be easily annoyed.
After dinner we decided to go watch a movie. As we sat in the dark room I noticed the couples there together; arm around the shoulder, whispering, or the random peck on the lips from time to time. The only tickets available were to a romantic comedy, and turns out the romance was coming full force. I felt a bit awkward as everyone seemed to be paired up, and Tyler and I were sitting there together but keeping our distance. The movie, itself, was good though, so at least that made up for the small amount of awkwardness lingering between us.
"That movie was better than I thought it would be," he said as we walked out of the theatre and headed for his car.
I had left mine at the diner so we didn't waste gas in both cars, and he would drop me back off.
"Yeah it was good." I slid into the passenger seat of his car as he got behind the wheel.
He checked the time when the car started up. "It's only ten. Do you want me to drop you back off?"
"Do you want to drop me back off?"

I was enjoying our time together, but if he wasn't then I didn't want to hang around.
"No," he said turning his head slightly to look at me.
We drove around listening to the music pouring from the speakers of his car. Neither of us had any idea what to do, but we didn't want to go home and sit there doing nothing. So, we decided to enjoy the night through the windows of his car.
Twenty minutes into our drive around the outskirts of the town he pulled off the main road to a patch of grass. I looked through the window in awe. The city lights were in the distance below us; they looked so far away but really just a few miles.
"It's so pretty out here," I said as we both got out of the car.
"You've never been?" He leaned against the hood.
Shaking my head as I hopped onto the hood, I said, "no but I wish I have been."
"It's a nice spot," he said.
"You feel so far away from everything." To some this might have just seemed like a random stop on the road, but to me it was beautiful. It felt like an escape from the day to day and a place to find peace and quiet.
"Do you come up here often?" I asked him, finally tearing my gaze away from the view and to him.
He shrugged. "Not very often, but when I have time I like to." Then he turned to me. "But seeing how much you enjoy it I'm glad I brought you along."
I smiled. "Me too. It's beautiful."
"Can I kiss you?" he asked.
"What?" I questioned taken off guard.
"I've wanted to since the night in the pool house when you were staring at me," he began making me blush as I thought back to that moment. "And seeing you now, the way the moonlight sparkles in your eyes, and the way you smile from pure enjoyment of sitting here looking out at the city below us." He pulled himself away from the car and stood in front of me. "All I want is to kiss you."
As the silence grew our eyes remained locked. I could feel the butterflies building up in the pit of my stomach at the way he stared at me. "Then kiss me," I whispered.
He placed one hand on my cheek and the other just touching my neck as he leaned in closing the gap between us as his lips touched mine. His lips were cold from the temperature, but his kiss was soft and tender.
When he pulled away my eyes fluttered open. His were still on mine as he wet his lips. This time I pulled him into me and he didn't oblige. I ran my tongue across his bottom lip and he parted his lips accepting my kiss.
The frigid air around us became unknown as our bodies pressed together and the heat built between us.
He brushed his lips down my neck, as his fingers trailed up my shirt. The cold of his fingertips sending a shiver throughout my body. "Sorry," he said as he pulled away from me. He grabbed my hand pulling me off the top of the hood and led me to the backseat.
I slid into the backseat as he pulled my shirt off me before getting inside. I laid down on the seats, jumping from the cold hitting my bare skin. My hands were tangled in his hair within seconds as I pulled him on top of me. His hardness pressed against my thigh and a soft moan escaped my lips.
His hands were at the button of my jeans as he looked at me for approval. I nodded, allowing him to slide my jeans passed my knees.
I sat up and pulled his jeans down, his boxers going with them. "Oops," I said. It was a mistake but seeing him made me realize just how good of a mistake it was.
A small grin spread across his lips as he bent back down propping himself with one hand to the side of my head. He stared down at me as his fingertips grazed down my stomach stopping at the hem of my panties waiting for approval, once again. I nodded biting my bottom lip, craving his touch. His fingers slowly trailed down me again jut barely touching me causing me to inhale sharply and grip his hair tighter.
Then just as things began to heat up headlights appeared lighting up the inside of his car. I pushed him, out of reaction, and he fell into the small space between the backseat and the driver's seat, hitting his head. "Shit," he groaned as he gripped the back of his head.
"I'm so sorry," I apologized as I pulled my jeans up as quickly as I could.
He managed to get his jeans pulled up just enough before awkwardly kneeling into the seat to pull them up the rest of the way.
There was just a few seconds to spare before the car pulled up beside us. We got out of the car, him getting into the driver's seat and me the passenger. This couple looked roughly the same age as us, but they never once acknowledged us, not even when Tyler started up the engine and we drove away.
