"Mommy, Where do babies come from?" My four year old daughter asks

Shit.

I thought I had a couple more years to prepare for this question.

I place the knife down that I was using to cut open a package of meat and turn around so that I'm facing the innocent four year old.

She has my long brown hair, but she has Easton's grey eyes.

This little bundle of joy is Katie Marie Hayes.

After Easton and I graduated, we got married a month later.

She was created that night.

Plus after that night I craved a lot of ketchup, to the point where Easton was concerned that our baby would end up looking like a tomato but his love for me never faltered.

Nine months later I got to hold her in my arms for the first time while Easton cried in the seat next to me from happiness and shock.

When he finally stopped crying enough to be able to hold her, he was mesmerized.

That same night Mrs. Hayes, Stella and Asher stopped by so that they could meet her.

Mrs. Hayes cried and hugged me while congratulating us, before she held her granddaughter with delicate hands.

I got to go home a week later and to tell you that I was happy is an understatement.

One of the cons was that I lost a lot of sleep, but it was worth it for her.

"Um, Daddy uses his, uh, magic wand and wishes for a baby?" I say but I comes out more like a question. That was the moment that Easton decided to walk into the kitchen from the back door.

"The pool is almost finished" he says to me as he walks towards me before leaning down and kissing my cheek

"Daddy, where's your magic wand?" Katie asks as she gives Easton an angry pout and crosses her arms

"What magic wand?" He asks with confusion as he crouches down so that he can look her in the eyes easier

"Mommy said that you have a magic wand that let's you wish for babies. I want a magic wand too" she says in a whiny voice before she stomps her foot on the ground

My cheeks turn a deep red shade when he turns his head and looks at me with an amused expression before he turns back to our daughter with a smile on his face.

"Princess, why do you want a magic wand?" He asks carefully while looking at her facial expression

"I want a sister" she says with a sad voice which makes me frown as I crouch down so that I'm eye level with her too

"Do you not like being an only child?" I ask her as a tear rolls down her tiny cheek

She just shakes her head before she makes grabby hands at Easton. He picks her up and places her on his hip while she cries into his shoulder

"Should we have another kid?" I ask Easton quietly with a look consideration

"It's your choice, babe. You're the one who births them" he says with a smaller smile

"I'm going to go put her down for a nap" he says which causes me to look at our daughter who's sleepily drooling on Easton's shoulder

"Okay. Come down when you're done" I say which causes him to nod before he retreats to the stairs.

Of course I want another child.

But I want his input on the situation too.

I shake my head of the thoughts before I continue to cut open the package of meat for dinner.

"Thank you all for showing up" I say as I walk into the living room where Asher is helping, an eight month pregnant, Stella get comfortable on the recliner. Mrs. Hayes is holding a glass of wine while watching the movie 'Home Alone'.

"Thank you for having us," Mrs. Hayes says before she sets her wine glass down and walks up to me

"Where is my granddaughter?" She asks with an excited voice

"She's upstairs with a couple of her friends. You can go up if you want" I say with a smile which makes her smile wider before she walks past me and towards the stairs

"When's your due date?" I ask Stella as I see her grab a plate of appetizers and start to eat them

"Two weeks" Asher answers for her since her mouth is full of the food

"Christmas Eve?" I ask which he nods to with a happy expression

"I can't wait" I say with an excited voice as Easton walks in and wraps his arms around my waist

"Me either" Asher says as he reaches his hand out and rubs his wife's baby bump

"I feel like baby number two is going to be addicted to tomatoes" Easton says with a groan which makes me laugh.

I made him get up at three in the morning one day because I was craving spaghetti with tomato sauce from a restaurant that was two hours away.

He tried to argue with me but when I threatened him with "No kisses or touching for a month" He was suddenly very excited about traveling two hours to the restaurant.

"Like Katie isn't already" I say with sarcasm evident in my tone which makes him laugh

"How is my niece, by the way?" Stella asks as she sets down the now empty appetizer plate

"She's good, but earlier today she expressed how much she wanted a sibling" I say as I take a seat on the couch with Easton following

"Have you guys thought about it?" Stella asks as she freezes and looks at us with a curious look in her eyes

"We decided to give it a try" Easton says which makes me smile when I hear excitement in his voice

"More grandkids?" I hear Mrs. Hayes say with an excited tone as she walks down the last three steps and stands in front of us

I nod as Easton reaches for my hand and intertwines our fingers before he kisses the back of my hand which causes me to blush.

A look of pure happiness take over her body.

She looks like she's just been told that she won the lottery.

"One big happy family" Stella says with a smile as she looks at all of us

"Happy? I think you mean crazy" I say which makes everyone burst into laughter as they agree

"Amelia, can you meet Stella and I at the hospital. Her water just broke" I hear a stressed out Asher say as I hear Stella's screaming in the background

"Yeah, I'll be there soon" I reply before I hang up and rush towards my closet

"What are you doing? It's four in the morning" I hear Easton groan out when I turn on the light to our closet

"Stella's water broke. We need to go to the hospital" I say as I quickly pull my night gown over my head and put a bra on. He groans again before he gets out of the bed and steps into the closet only to grab a black shirt and walk back out since he already has sweatpants on. I roll my eyes at him before I grab a pair of leggings along with a grey sweatshirt and throw them on.

I quickly put on a pair of sandals as I tie my hair in a bun. I walk down the hall and step into Katie's room only to see her sleeping in her Mickey Mouse pajamas.

I carefully grab her and place her on my hip which causes her to tighten her hold on my neck as she lays her head on my shoulder.

I carry her out of her room and down the stairs, I walk outside before Easton locks the front door behind me. As I'm putting Katie in her car seat, Easton comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist as he lays his head on my back which makes me laugh.

"Do you want me to drive?" I ask him as I close the car door. He nods as I turn around in his arms, he pecks my cheek before handing me the keys.

I smile as we walk towards the front doors of the car.

I can't wait to see how Stella react to giving birth.

"How did you do this, Amelia?" She asks as she lays in the hospital bed clad in a hospital gown and connected to a heartbeat monitor. She's covered in sweat and her cheeks are red from her body temperature.

"It hurts so bad and I feel like I'm in an oven" she says as she fans herself

"It's worth it afterwards when you've birthed the kid" I said as I wave it off since it's normal

She suddenly screams from a contraction which causes all of us to jump in our seats since it was very sudden.

"You're getting closer" I say as I hold her hand so that she knows that I'm here

Easton is in the waiting with our sleeping daughter since he, and I quote "doesn't want to watch his twin give birth". He says that it would be to awkward.

Mrs. Hayes is on the other side of Stella also telling her words of wisdom and ease.

Asher is pacing back and forth while staring at nothing particular since he's deep in thought. We tried to get him to sit down and stop worrying, but he refused.

"How are you feeling?" I ask her as I see her contraction fading away

"I just want to hurry up and push this baby out" she says as she slams her head back onto the pillow which causes Mrs. Hayes and I to laugh

"A couple more minutes" I reassure her which causes her to nod so that I know she heard me.

Thirty minutes later a doctor walks in and takes a look at her before he calls in a nurse.

"Are you ready to push?" He asks Stella as the nurse walks through the door and gets ready at her position

Stella quickly nods. I get up so that Asher can take my spot beside his wife as she gives birth to their child, and so that I don't lose blood flow in my hand when she starts to squeeze the life out of them.

After an hour of Stella pushing, Asher's hand being squeezed to death, and a lot of foul language...

Stella finally birthed a healthy baby boy.

4 pounds, 6 ounces.

As they checked the baby for any problems or deformities, Asher and Stella were quietly whispering to each other.

Mrs. Hayes walks up beside me and watches as they check the baby.

"He's beautiful, isn't he?" She says with a smile

"He mostly looks like Stella" I say as I admire his facial features. He has a mini version of her nose and lips but he has Asher's eyebrows.

"He'll grow into a manly face" she says with a reassuring smile

"We've decided on a name" I hear Asher say which causes Mrs. Hayes and I to turn around and look at him since Stella fell asleep while holding his hand

"Before she feel asleep we decided on the name, Lucas Kelton Hayes" he says with a wide smile

Mrs. Hayes and I look at each other before we turn back to him and mimic his smile.

"Is it okay for me to enter?" I hear Easton ask as he opens the door while covering his eyes. I look down at Katie who immediately runs to me, I pick her up and place her on my hip before laughing at Easton.

"Relax, she's asleep and they're checking the baby" I say which causes him to uncover his eye and walk towards us

"He mostly has 'Hayes' genes" he says with a shrug which causes me to hit his shoulder and glare at him

"He's not wrong" Asher says with a laugh which causes all of us to laugh as Stella absentmindedly shifts closer to Asher in her sleep.
