《The underworld king》Chapter 6.)The forsaken tree

Something tickling my nose woke me up out of the most peaceful sleep I've ever had in my life. My eyes flutter open and I gasp at the sight around me. The tree was blossoming and dark leaves swirled around me creating a small whirl pool of nature.

"Hades." I say shaking him out of his sleep,"What's happening?"

He groans and mumbles something before opening his eyes.

"What." He says sitting up.

"Look around you." I snap,"What is going on."

"Oh." He sighs," Look over there at the end of the garden."

I avert my eyes and look down the paved path to see a figure standing in the paved circle surrounded by trees.

"What's happening?" I whisper feeling like if I speak any louder I'll disturb the peace."Elysium

"She's moving on." He says," It's called the Elysium Fields. It's a better place."

"Wait." I say confused,"This is hell how is there a better place?"

He laughs,"It's not hell it's the underworld. There are many different levels of my kingdom and so inevitably if you die you come here. Good or evil. So this 'hell' you speak of is actually the part called Hades."

I look back at the figure and she is suddenly zapped out of thin air and the leaves go still slowly falling to the ground.

"And this happens every time?" I ask.

He nods,"Unless you don't go the Fields then it's a whole different ball game."

I raise an eyebrow"You named a level after yourself?"

He shrugs,"Actually Hades is not my given name. It was given to me by the people meaning 'The unseen one' in greek."

"Why do they call you the unseen one."

He smiles and pulls up to my feet,"You ask a lot of questions that I would love to answer, but sadly I have matters to attends to."

"Okay, I'll be in the library," I say as he leads me inside and we separate.

I follow the path and open the doors loving the feeling that comes over me. The library has always been a place of peace for me nothing is better than being able to travel to a different world that's completely based off imagination. It's funny how I used to read books about what's happening to me and now I'm living in one of my own.

I let my fingers go over the leather bindings of the more ancient books but my hand stops over one in particular that grabs my attention. It's a thick black leather bound book with gold and red lettering reading 'Aidoneus (The unseen one)'.

I pull the book from the shelf and take a seat in my lounge.

Chapter I - The origin

Aidoneus the god of the lower world was the fourth child yet eldest male of Titan Kronos and Rhea.

"Aidoneus?" I question testing the name on my lips,"I like it more than Hades."

"What do you like more than me."

I snap the book shut and glance up at him holding my chest,"You scared me half to death."

He raises an eyebrow,"Why are you so jumpy? What are you reading?"

I place the book behind me,"Nothing...nothing. Why are you here?"

"You look flustered Lela." He points out," Is my little queen reading a naughty book."

"What!" I exasperate,"NO! No...it's not that kind of book."

He looks at me before swiftly taking the book out of my hand. His eyes scan the cover and an unknown emotion crosses his face before he hands me back the book.

"Why are you reading that out of all things?" He asked.

I bite my lip,"I just stumbled upon it. I wanted to know more about you... Aidoneus."

His eyes snap to mine,"You know my given name?"

"It's on the cover of the book." I retort standing up,"And frankly, I like it a lot more than calling you Hades."

He pulls me to him his lips barely touching mine,"Call me what you like I was never really a fan of the name Hades either."

"Master?"

I snap away from him and blush down at my feet.

He growls,"What is it?"

The girl doesn't meet his eyes and her voice trembles with fear,"You have a visitor."

This catches him off guard,"A visitor, who is it?"

The doors to the library swing open blowing papers off the table. I turn my head and for some reason, I shrink into Hades. He notices too and protectively puts me behind him.

He narrows his eyes at the intruder,"Demeter. It hasn't been long enough."

"Oh, Aidoneus." She says humorlessly,"I heard you had a new pet so I had to come see for myself. I wanted my daughter to come, but you know she had other matters to attend to. I wonder how she'll react to this human. "

He tightens his grip on me,"You tell that whore she is no longer welcome here."

Hera laughs,"You know that's not how this works, Aidoneus, six months remember, and my six months are over in less than two. Does your little scarlet know about her..hmm?"

His eyes flash and his gaze goes to me,"Go to the room."

"What." I say," I am not going to the room, who is this?"

The woman eyes me,"I am Demeter, goddess of Harvest. And just to let you know I do not condone this marriage."

Hades laughs,"You have no control here Hera, so go back to your cloud and bending over for Zues. I can also promise you're not the only one who's doing it."

Her hand comes across his face in a swift motion," How dare you."

He smiles at her," That tickled."

She clenches her fist,"I wonder if you'll still be smiling after my daughter finds out the news."

"You tell her, and you'll be sorry."

"You touch me and I'll tell my husband."

He laughs,"Your husband is the whole reason for the situation we're in. Do you think I want to spend six months with her? I have a wife who doesn't whore around."

Hera sneers,"This human will die in a blink of an eye. Then who are you gonna have? You're going to be lonely again."

"Go to the room, Lela." He says through clenched teeth.

"What? No, you cannot make me go-" He cuts me off.

"Go to the room, now!"He yells.

I grit my teeth,"Fine, but I don't know if you'll find a compliant wife when you get back. I hate it here! I want to go home! It's my fault for actually giving you a chance."

"Lela wait." He starts.

"No." I say grabbing the book and bringing it to my chest," I'll let the almighty beings talk and the human will just go sit out."

I walk out the room and I bet you could feel the anger radiating off of me.

I flop myself on the bed angrily; I violently turn the pages of the book to where I was before.

The Forsaken Tree

The forsaken tree is a tree in the underworld located in the Groves Of Persephone, which is on the outskirts of the portal to The Elysium Fields. The forsaken tree is known to be a large black tree with pomegranates hanging from the tree.

If you eat the seeds from the pomegranate your soul is forever bound to the underworld and it makes leaving the underworld extremely dangerous to the person who partook of the seeds.

If you leave the underworld without something verbally blessed by Aidoneus himself then you will die in less than seven days.

After reading that if I was angry before.

Then I'm furious now.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the wait for this chapter. I just didn't know where i wanted the story to go from there because I had like five different ideas but I think this one is the best.

More surprises to come.
