《The underworld king》Chapter 5.) Picnic Under A Pomegranate Tree

"Will you come with me." He asked.
And trust me I wanted to say no but something in the way he was looking at me and practically begging me to go with him made me say yes. I would be lying if I said he wasn't growing on me. He's not what I expected...
I just hope I don't fall for him.
"Come with you where?"I question throwing my legs on the other side of the bed.
"A walk." He says simply.
I nod taking his offered hand. This room was getting suffocating and even though I had my library it wasn't enough. He leads me down the hallways and pauses at the doors.
"What's wrong," I ask.
"Nothing." He says gruffly,"Just prepare yourself for what the underworld really looks like."
He pushes open the doors and I am met with immediate darkness. The black sun looks bleaker here and the red sky swirls above me.
"Woah." I say taking larger steps outside amazed at how different everything looks.
"Scared darling?" He teases.
I scoff,"Not in the slightest your highness."
He chuckles and grabs my hand leading me to a garden.
"What are we doing?"
"A picnic in the garden." He says.
"Who knew Hades could be romantic." I tease.
He wraps an arm around my waist."There's a lot of things humanity doesn't know about me. They don't bother reading what's in their books. Apparently, god of underworld equals evil in everyone's eyes."
For some reason, I felt the need to comfort him in his vulnerability.
"Not in mine." I say putting a hand to his face before awkwardly removing it.
He leads me down a path in the garden and my eyes go up to the huge tree in the middle of all of it. The tree had a trunk about five times my width and three times my height. It had black bark and black leaves and even though it looked dead the tree still barred ripe fruit from it's branches that hung ripe.

"What kind of tree is that?" I question in awe.
"Pomegranate." He says then waves his hand causing a piece of fruit to fall gracefully into his hand,"Care to try some? The seeds are the best part."
Something in the back of my brain nagged at me trying to force me to remember something but I couldn't quite put my finger on what.
"Sure." I respond as he slices the fruit in half giving me a peace.
I take a slow bite out of the pomegranate and close my eyes as the flavor dances across my tongue.
"That's amazing." I say.
He laughs and moves back to reveal the picnic blanket on the ground,"Care to try more."
We sit on the blanket and talk for what seems like such a short time but before I know it the black sun goes down and we are entirely cased in darkness.
I laugh as I look up,"I guess we stayed out kind of late, you got a bed time your highness?"
He snaps his fingers and we become illuminated. I can just make out the strong features of his face.
"We can stay out as long as you want." He says to me.
"I like it out here." I say,"Surprisingly it's calm here. I like being out here with you."
"I'm not some soul sucking demon." He laughs but I don't.
I turn to look at him and the air around us becomes heated and tense. He leans in closer to me our lips barely touching. His arms coming around me and pulling me close to him.
"I'll try." I whisper lowly."I'll try with you, but I don't make any promises to be number one wife this quick. I mean I still don't know you."

"You trying is all I can ask." He says before tightening his grip on me.
His lips come crashing down on mine and his tongue demands entrance taking control immediately. He lays me on the ground and climbs on top not removing his mouth from mine once. Sometime after making out and talking in the candle light i fall asleep in his arms under the pomegranate tree.

Hey guys,
so their relationship is progressing and if any of you know anything about Hades you know the significance of the pomegranate.
I thought this chapter was really sweet and did show a different side of Hades than were used to. Also, I will be changing some of the lore surrounding Hades just to make it all fit the story better but no major changes will be happening.

Petrichor: Act One
Cody is adrift. Emily is alone. Sara is spiraling into darkness. Andrew is out of control. Chris is losing his mind. Grace makes the mistake of being friends with all of them. The friendship these six share will forever shape who they are. In the town of Darkwood, Washington they are forced into the harsh reality of the world catching up to them. When their involvement in their friend's suicide catches up to them, how will they juggle their guilt, issues, and crumbling friendships that fall before them? This is a redux of Petrichor. I was unsatisfied with how the story went. I rushed things and left things to happen off-screen a lot. So I'm rewriting it, this time dividing the acts into their separate books to allow the characters to properly develop. The story will mostly stay the same but I'll fix all the plot holes I found and change some character motivations here or there.
