《The underworld king》Chapter 4.)The soft side of hell

"I'm bored," I say hanging off the bed.
It's been three days and while I've grown used to the being around the god of death the boredom is starting to eat me alive. Since my little mishap, he doesn't let me out of the room without him glued to my side and even then we've only gone to the dining room.
"I gave you books." He says gazing through his papers.
I roll my eyes,"Yes because Dickens is exactly my idea of a good time."
"A Tale of Two Cities is one of your favorites." He responds not even looking at me.
"Yes but Great Expectations is not." I say getting off the bed and going to the door,"I guess I'll just have to entertain myself."
He drops the paper out of his hand and gives me the deadliest look I've ever seen,"You open that door and you'll be sorry."
If I was smart I would've just gone back to the bed and sulked inside my head, but I was tired of listening to him, and being confined to this room. I placed my hand on the doorknob and slowly turn it.
He chuckles darkly,"You're playing with fire little girl."
I laugh at the irony,"Catch me if you can."
I rip open the door and run down the empty hallways, getting lost as my heart pounds in anticipation, but when I turn around no one is following me.
Good job, you just got yourself lost.
The path suddenly becomes dark and my vision limited. My breath hitches as panic consumes my body. I jump as arms wrap around me rendering me immobile.
"Gotcha." He whispers in my ear before throwing me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I say hitting his back,"I am too heavy for this."

He laughs,"Your weight is nothing to me and this way i can get us to our destination quicker."
I roll my eyes," I'm pretty sure I'm capable of keeping up."
His hands grip my waist before slowly sliding me down his body and placing me on the ground.
I clear my throat and put some space between us,"Thank you, now where are we going."
"We're here." He says turning me around.
I come face to face with two large wooden doors. I place my hands on the doors and with little force, they swing open to reveal the biggest library I have ever seen.
"Woah.." I say. "You're library is huge."
He shrugs,"There are books here from all around the world and different types of genres. I collected a little bit of everything. I didn't have a need for a library until now."
"Why do you need one now?" I question.
"For you." He says.
"For me?"
"Since my choice of books for you were less than satisfactory. I decided to let you pick out your own."He says placing his hand on my lower back,"C'mon theres more I want to show you."
He leads me down a staircase and into a little secret room underneath with books lining the wall and a small chair and table right in the middle.
"Ill get you something more comfortable later, but this is somewhere quiet you can come to read and relax if you need to."
I take a look around the small room and unknown emotion swimming through me.
"Why are you doing this?" I say turing to face him."Why are you being so nice to me?"
"Would you rather i was rude?" He crosses his arms.

"No its just....you're not what i expected." I admit.
He nods,"There are many misconceptions about me."
"Thank you." I say,"For the library nobody has ever done anything like this for me."
"I want you to be happy here, Lela. You can come here any time you like."
"That's if i can find it." I mumble.
"And that leads me to my next surprise." He says taking me out the library and into the hallway."Because you have a special skill for getting lost i decided to make a trail for you."
He waves his hand and magma flows in a stright line into the library.
"The trail goes one of three places. The bedroom, the dining hall, and the library. Just follow it and you'll be fine." He explains.
"Now i won't get lost but what if one of your 'servents' try to take me away again." I worry shivering at what happened last time.
He clenches his fist,"That won't happen because i've made it known to everyone that you're mine and you are not to be harmed. Anyone who disobeys will be serverly punished, there will be no more misunderstandings."
I take in a breath of relief,"So all of this is mine?"
"Yours." He says,"I'll leave you in here by yourself."
I nod as he leaves me be.
I let my hand graze over the binds of the books. Some of them leather and some of them plastic but all of them filled with stories.I pick out one that caught my attention and sit down to read it turing it pages letting the paper tell it's story. Sometime after the climax of the book i dose off in my chair and i have a faint memeory of being carried off to the bed.
Soft lips touch my head and sweet whispers find there way into my ears.
sweet dreams my queen

Love Of Baybur [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise. Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon. But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate. After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse. As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind. For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction. Enjoy!
