6 pm.
"Earth on Kim Taehyung, you there?" Jimin waved his hand in front of his best friend's face, who has been absently staring ahead the whole time, not really reacting to what was happening around him.
He was deep in thoughts about a certain raven haired, actually, he has been doing that this whole day. After Jeongguk left this morning, he immediately invited Jimin over because he had to inform him about what happened.
"Taehyung..." Jimin whined, rolling his eyes.
"G-Dragon's here—
"Where?" Taehyung's attention finally was caught and he turned to his best friend, a pout instantly forming on his lips in embarrassment when he realized GD wasn't actually here. "Sorry, I was in thoughts."
"I saw that," Jimin chuckled. "Is Jeongguk some fairytale prince, because he definitely enchanted you with that kiss."
A blush spread on Taehyung's cheeks. "I'm sorry, I just.. I can't believe this is real, I mean, we kissed? I kissed Jeongguk, it's..." Lost at words. That's how he has been feeling too. There were a million thoughts running through his mind, while the picture of Jeongguk's tall frame pushing him against the wall
and kissing him replayed like a broken record in his head.
"Remember a week ago, when you told me you wanna experience romance someday? And I told you that your someone might not be that far?" Jimin giggled and Taehyung remembered it clearly, gasping and pinching Jimin. "Don't bring that up! I'm not sure if this is even going to lead to something—
"Don't overthink it, babe. Things will work out the way they are supposed to. Don't force yourself into anything, but see what happens, how Jeongguk acts the next days."
A small sigh went past Taehyung's lips, a sudden wave of disappointment running through him. "I'm so weak... all this time I was trying my best to be better than him and said that I hate him millions of times and yet, now..."
Jimin smiled, his eyes glistening as he almost squeals. "Holy shit, you're falling for him!"
Taehyung's afraid he already has.
"I..." He was about to deny it. Again. Just like he always does, yet he couldn't find the strength too.

So he just shrugged, a loud squeal erupting from Jimin who threw himself into his best friend's lap, hugging him tightly. "That's brilliant. You two would make a cute couple!"
Taehyung blushed by that —once again— the imagination Jimin just gave him letting butterflies erupt inside of him. For some reason he pictured Jeongguk and him walking next to each other, holding hands, smiling towards each other while talking about something that made both of the laugh together. He shook his head in embarrassment.
"Isn't it strange? That things are suddenly turning this way?" He asked in a mumble, placing his chin on Jimin's shoulder. Up to last night he fought against his feelings, thought Jeongguk was the biggest asshole in the world for what he did and even believed the other was interested in girls. He did not expect him to take a liking in boys only, he had a girlfriend called Yoora two years ago, that Taehyung didn't like (not because of jealousy or something, but he could tell Jeongguk wasn't happy). It didn't hold for long anyways (two months and she was gone for some reason)— but the fact that Jeongguk likes boys turned the tables once again, unfolding a little hope inside of Taehyung's chest.
"It's not strange... we can't control our feelings. You couldn't know it will happen," Jimin responded reassuringly. "You two need to talk things out."
A shudder ran past Taehyung's back. "I'm sure we should." Oh, he knows they should. "Not until he apologizes and tells me why he left."
Jimin wanted to disagree out of impulse and tell Taehyung that nothing matters right now, because that's what a best friend would do, but he stopped himself. Taehyung was totally right. He had suffered because of Jeongguk's sudden leave and if the older wants to be worthy of Taehyung, he needs to straighten his mistakes.
"You're re-bonding, right now. I'm sure he will tell you the truth soon."
Taehyung hopes so too. He was aware that he liked Jeongguk and judging by the fact that Jeongguk was so eager to kiss him last night and even took so much care of him, stayed overnight and was a blushing mess in the morning, it was safe to say he might like Taehyung too.

But yes. They needed to talk, needed to clear up the unknown, if this should work.
If it even was supposed to work.
9pm.
"We're moving."
Jeongguk let his fork fall. "What?"
Mrs Jeon smiled brightly. "Your dad found a new job in Busan! We're going back home, isn't that great?"
Jeongguk looked at his father who sat across from him, a glare marking his eyebrows. "Seriously?"
"Yes, son. It's a great opportunity and me and your mother have been wanting to go home for so long already—
"Not me though! I'm not leaving Seoul." Jeongguk's eyebrows furrowed in light anger. He isn't going, not after he fought to stay. "We moved a year ago already! You have a great paying job here, dad! Why do we have to move again?" Jeongguk's thoughts settled on a blonde boy. He can't leave him, not again.
"Gguk, it's best for all of us—
"What do you mean?!" Frustration sparked Jeongguk's voice, so his eyes and whole body. "Beat for all of us?"
His parents gave each other a look, the eye contact they had already signaling Jeongguk that what they were about to say next is something he won't like to hear.
"We're concerned for your health.. Lately we noticed you being around Yoongi a lot and... he has a boyfriend. And it seems like you still can't forget about that stupid boy, Tae—
"Don't you dare," Jeongguk interrupted his mother, his words spitting through gritted teeth. They can talk shit how much they want, but he won't tolerate any degradation towards his friends and especially not towards Taehyung. "What are you implying?"
"All your friends are gay... We're worried it doesn't do you good," his father said and Jeongguk scoffed. Never before did he feel such a burning urge to hit his father, even though this wasn't the first time they said stuff like that.
"Liking the same gender isn't a disease, for fuck's sake! They're my friends, Yoongi is my family and you know very well that Taehyung and Hana were so much more of a family to me than you ever could! You tried to take them away from me once, I won't let it happen twice!"
"So you still like that boy." It wasn't a question, it was a confirmation that his mother just made and it let a shiver run down Jeongguk's spine. He kept his posture straight though, as he held his glare.
"Right. I like that boy," Jeongguk spoke calmly, his heart racing though. "I like boys, never liked girls and you know that."
"What about Yoora? You looked happy together." Oh, she means Jang Yoora, the poor lesbian girl her homophobic parents and Jeongguk's homophobic parents forced to date him two years ago. They tried to 'fix' them.
"Happy? We looked happy together? Stop lying to yourself and just fucking accept that your son likes dick!" Jeongguk got up, his appetite gone.
"Watch your tone, son!" His father called.
Jeongguk scoffed as he went to put his shoes on. He wanted to leave, he needed to leave.
"If you set one foot out of this house right now, you're not our son anymore," Mr Jeon gritted out, but as if this would stop Jeongguk. He had enough, he was nineteen, didn't need to be treated like shit and get controlled by his parents.
"Farewell, parents." The expression for how you call your birth givers was laced in poison as Jeongguk pulled the hood of his black hoodie over his head and took the exact step out of the house his father warned him from earlier.
It was raining.
He didn't care, feeling all empty inside and destination-less, his feet carrying him on their own accord for a whole hour. Hatred filled all his veins as he wanted to scream out his lungs. He had fought enough. He was so done with all of it, so tired of it all.
And all of a sudden, he found himself standing in front of an all to familiar small family house, knowing the only person that can calm him down right now was living inside of there.
He was so done with it.
I refuse to believe that Kim Hongjoong is a real human being
ANYWAYS ATEEZ' STAGE PRESENCE WAS SO AMAZING

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here
