It was a normal evening for Taehyung and his mother.
Besides the fact that Taehyung was unnecessarily stressing about what to wear for the birthday party of his best friend's boyfriend. "Mom~" he whined, "do you think this will look good?"
Hana stared at the top and pants combination Taehyung picked and raised an eyebrow, obviously judging her son's pick. "Let me take a look into your closet," she suggested, walking towards her son's closet, scanning it.
"Bub, you have such a pretty body, you can pull up with anything," she complimented, making Taehyung roll his eyes. "I just wanna look good, but it shouldn't be something too outgoing."
"Do you wanna impress someone?" Hana smirked, rummaging through Taehyung's clothes.
The blond blushed, thoughts instantly drifting towards a certain raven haired, that would come to pick him up in 20 minutes.
"N-no, it's not like that. This will be my first real party, you know?"
Hana just hummed, letting it slide, even though she actually was already thinking ahead. It was obvious Taehyung was trying to hide something... or someone.
"How about this..." Hana mumbled, pulling out tight black jeans with a hole on the left knee and a brownish, beige, silky button up. "You can tuck it into the pants, I think that'd look great."
Taehyung smiled, hugging his mother and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks, thanks, thanks. I love you!"
Smiling too, Hana pushed him a little away. "You have only fifteen minutes left, honey. I'd speed up a little. Also what about a little concealer to cover up these dark circles?" She mumbled, brushing her thumb along Taehyung's eye bags.
The blond pulled away from his mother's hold. "Imma dress up now." He hushed her out of the room and closed the door, quickly putting the clothes she picked on, being so grateful to her, because he looked amazing. Then he put on a little concealer to cover up the dark circles Hana had mentioned earlier. He should really catch some more sleep in the next days.
Being about to brush his hair, the door ringed. Five minutes too early. His eyes widened and without a second thought, or even rethinking the first thought, he rushed out of his room downstairs, before—
"Jeongguk?"— before his mother opens the door.
Taehyung sighed, out of breath. He looked to the ravenette outside and then to his mom, who gave him a questioning look.
"Euhm, hi?" Jeongguk greeted awkwardly, not knowing what was going on.
A moment passed were Taehyung just stared at the older male in pure astonishment. It's no secret that Jeongguk can be considered one of the most hottest guys out there, but damn. His long hair was parted in the middle, soft curls hanging loosely, accompanied by a series of silver earrings, some with chains, some just loops. He was wearing a white hoodie, with tight black jeans, but Taehyung could see the outline of a black collar of a t-shirt underneath the hoodie. Knowing Jeongguk, he hates jackets, only wears hoodies if he feels cold. He already knows Jeongguk will look amazing this evening, once he puts off the hoodie and reveals his muscled arms. Jeongguk was a ten out of ten, unbeatable.

Wait what—
Clearing his throat, Taehyung awkwardly grabbed the present he had bought after school for Yoongi and passed his mother, internally face palming himself for the 360° scan he just did on Jeongguk.
"He... wanted to pick me up to the party.."
Hana smirked, crossing her arms over her chest, just like she always does when she scanned a situation and realized what is going on. "I see that."
"Well... I'll be back at 11," Taehyung mumbled, interrupting the slight tension this meeting caused. Actually 11 is pretty early for a party to end, but Yoongi values his sleep and Jimin had also begged him to end earlier, because apparently he had something planned for Yoongi only, which didn't leave much to guess what his plan would be. But no one cared or disagreed, since the party also starts pretty early anyways.
"Take care, Hun," Hana gave her son a kiss on the cheek and offered Jeongguk a bright smile. "Take care of him."
Both boys blushed and Taehyung wanted to sink into the soil, 6 feet deep, and never come out again, but he kept his posture and just rolled his eyes. "I don't need him to take care of me."
Staying silent was probably the wisest decision for Jeongguk, but he couldn't keep his mouth shut, right? He needed to make Taehyung all flustered, right? "I'll take care of him. I promise."
Hana chuckled, watching her son blush dark red. "Have fun, boys."
She went inside, closed the door and Taehyung let out a deep breath, before shooting up a glare to Jeongguk. "Did you have to embarrass me like that?"
The ravenette stared at the blond. "In fact, you embarrassed yourself. You didn't tell your mom I was picking you up?"
Taehyung went still for a moment. "Why would I have to tell her, huh? It's no big deal."
Jeongguk laughed, shaking his head lightly. "Then don't make it a big deal. Come on, let's go." He walked ahead, Taehyung following, unfazed.
"Is it far?" He asked, now walking next to Jeongguk, which was a situation Taehyung could have only dreamt about at the beginning of this year.
"No, not really. 15 minutes by feet, maybe," Jeongguk responded, then glanced towards the blond, seeing him struggling to hold his present for Yoongi. It was pretty big for a present to someone who can still be considered a stranger to Taehyung, he thought. Sure, he had spend lunch with Jimin and Yoongi, but he doesn't really know him that well yet. But Jeongguk knows that Taehyung loves making presents just as much as he loves receiving them.
"Need help?" He asked, wanting to release the smaller male from his struggle, but Taehyung just shook his head. "It's okay."

"Is it heavy?"
"Why do you care?"
"Is it heavy?"
Taehyung blushed a little, his voice now sounding more strained due to the strenuous way of trying to not drop that packet. "A little bit.. maybe."
Shaking his head with amusement lighting up in his eyes, Jeongguk grabbed the packet and held it for the younger. "No, I can carry—
"What did you get him?" He interrupted the blond.
Taehyung gave up, internally thanked Jeongguk for the help though. "Jimin said Yoongi likes basketball, so a new basketball and a remote-controlled car, because isn't that something that never gets old?" Taehyung giggled a little by the end, which made Jeongguk smile. Jimin told him that Yoongi has enough basketballs, yet all of them 'don't bounce the way they're supposed to bounce anymore'. A quote of Park Jimin quoting Min Yoongi.
"That's why it's so heavy." A basketball does not way a little when put into a box, together with a toy for kids that boys never get enough of, even when they're older. Boys are too easy sometimes.
"What did you get him?" Taehyung then asked out of curiosity.
Jeongguk looked to the blond, but then away. "I don't wanna tell you yet."
"What? I told you mine too tho," Taehyung pouted.
"Not my problem," Jeongguk retorted, taking Taehyung off guard.
"Why are you even walking me there. And why did you tell my mom you were gonna take care of me, I don't need a babysitter."
Jeongguk mockingly raised an eyebrow. "Knowing your clumsy ass, you need two babysitters."
An offended sound left Taehyung. "Shut up."
"Just so you know, I mean what I said to your mom. I'll take care of you."
Taehyung gulped, his heart doing a flip. "N-no need to, nothing is going to happen anyways."
Jeongguk shrugged. "You'll never know. There will be drunk people and people do weird stuff when they're drunk."
Taehyung shuddered a little, suddenly having the urge to step closer to Jeongguk, but he restrained himself from that. "What... weird stuff..?"
Jeongguk smirked by the unsureness and consciousness the younger's voice presented. "You don't wanna find out."
Taehyung swallowed hardly, not sure if he still was that keen on going to the party.
A sudden laugh ripped to the air, that made Taehyung look up again, catching his attention. "I'm kidding. They are friends, they won't do anything. You're safe."
Taehyung gritted his teeth, hating that Jeongguk made him so scared for nothing and tricked him like this. "You're so unfunny."
The ravenette's laughter died down. "Oh, I can be really funny."
Taehyung knows that. He scoffed, crossing his arms. "Real talk, you're the most unfunniest person ever."
"Says you, Mr School council leader."
"I didn't pick that position, I was chosen!" Taehyung defended.
"You could've declined," Jeongguk stated and Taehyung knew he was right, but at that time, Taehyung was busier handling the situation of Jeongguk's sudden leave and didn't decline the offer, because he thought it could distract him a little. "Yeah... I could have."
Sensing the tension, Jeongguk cleared his throat. "I can tell you something about who'll be there, if you wanna?"
Actually, Taehyung liked the silence, kind of enjoyed it even. Just walking next to Jeongguk in silence, the wind brushing through their hair and the birds singing their melodies in the background. He figured, knowing something about Yoongi's and Jeongguk's friends beforehand could actually be helpful. Also, it eases the nervousness that was still there because of Jeongguk's remark about drunk people from earlier, that had shaken him up more than he liked to admit.
"Okay.."
Jeongguk smiled. "So there's this guy called Hoseok. He is the party, a literal sunshine to that. Just looking at him lifts your mood, but you'll see for yourself."
He sounds nice, Taehyung thought. But just like Jeongguk said, he had to see for himself. It felt weird enough that he was trusting Jeongguk right now.
"Seokjin is the oldest of us all, caring and drawn to cuteness. So beware and protect your soft cheeks, before he gets to pinch them."
Taehyung hummed absently, until what Jeongguk just said registered in his head. Did he just indirectly declared Taehyung as cute? And his cheeks as soft?
Suppressing the urge to pinch his own cheeks and test it out, Taehyung continued listening to the older. Maybe Jeongguk didn't realise what he just said.
"Namjoon is Seokjin's boyfriend, he's the clumsiest, but the smartest. Really fun to hang out, until he begins with his einstein-talk. Then we have Bambam and Yugyeom. They're the same age as me, don't live in Seoul tho. I don't know them that well, actually, only hung out with them two times because of Yoongi. They're both really open and... loud? They will probably be the biggest pain in the ass when drunk, but you don't have to worry."
Taehyung felt Jeongguk's eyes at him and he looked up to him, more like he felt obligated to, as if a hidden force told him too. The moment his brown eyes locked with the slightly darker ones of the taller male, he felt his heart jump, trip over itself, walk a few more steps and then fall face first again.
"If you feel uncomfortable in any way, tell me. Immediately."
