《Sinbad: High King of the Seas》Chapter 48: "The Horror of that Night!"

Sinbad rushes forward and draws Baal at the same time. Annalise grabs Sinbad from behind and digs her feet into the ground to stop Sinbad from drawing Baal.
"SIN!" Annalise says and Sinbad's eyes widen as he snaps out of whatever trance he was in.
"Sin, we're in the royal palace. I don't know what you're intending to do, but you don't need your metal vessel." Jafar says.
"Huh? What was I? Metal Vessel? Why would I?" Sinbad asks as he grabs his head.
'If I'm not mistaken... that power... that was Zepar.' Annalise's thoughts say, 'And it's still here...'
"You must be tired. Let's go get some rest." Jafar says.
"You don't see like yourself." Annalise says.
"That must be it." Sinbad says.
"Sin?" Annalise asks. Sinbad was busy looking out the window as he sat in a chair. Sinbad was lost in thought.
'How strange... with this, we should finally be able to create our own country, huh? After all our struggles to get to this point... for it to finally become reality like this... Annalise and I conquered Baal and left Parthevia, founded our own trading company and started gating the funds to build a country and before I even realized it, three years had passed. And now that's finally brought us here. What kind of country will we create? I'd like to extend the harbor so that it can accommodate more ships and I'd like to make our company's main branch even more majestic... no this time we'll need to build a royal palace for me, Annalise and the baby. I'll create a good country... definitely.' Sinbad's thoughts say.
"Sin. What are you thinking about?" Annalise asks as she leans over and hugs him from behind as he wasn't far from the bed.
"Just the Kingdom of Sindria." Sinbad says.
"So, you're Sin again." Annalise says.
"Huh? What do you mean? I'm always myself?" Sinbad asks as he looks at her.
"You were acting strange earlier." Annalise says, "You had me worried."
"You shouldn't worry." Sinbad say as she sits back in the bed while he stands up and turns towards her, "I can't stop thinking about the island! Let's go back to it now! If we use Djinn Equip we can get there and back in no time!"
"But Jafar and I think you need sleep." Annalise says.
"We won't be out for long." Sinbad says and Annalise giggles.
"Okay, let's go." Annalise says and Sinbad Djinn Equips Baal before he pulls Annalise in his arms and holds onto her tightly. They fly towards the island.
"It will be a little while longer before we found our nation." Sinbad says as they land. Sinbad carries a torch around and Annalise and Sinbad stare out it.

"It's beautiful at night." Annalise says as Sinbad had his arm around her.
"It is." Sinbad says, "We'll buy this island and we'll make this place our home where we can have a bunch of heirs to our kingdom. Plenty for this little one to play with and teach how to go on adventures." Sinbad places his hand on her growing belly. She stares at him with a blank expression.
"Let's just focus on getting this one out of me first." Annalise says as she pokes him in the cheek.
"I wonder what happened to our hometown of Tison Village. If they knew we were building our own country here in Parthevia, I wonder if they'd be pleased. They'd come join our country wouldn't they? If that happened, we could see everyone again." Sinbad says as they walk around. Annalise stops walking and Sinbad looks over.
"This must be... the military research facility that was built more recently. Just looking at it, there doesn't seem to be any problems with the building." Annalise says.
"Why would they want to demolish it?" Sinbad asks. They head inside and they look around.
"The interior is in good condition, too." Annalise says.
"What kind of danger could be here that required them to put a fence around the complex to keep people out? It also doesn't really have the feeling of a military research facility." Sinbad says, "Just what kind of research were they doing here?" They walk around a corner and Annalise's hand goes to her mouth in shock. Sinbad takes her hand and she follows after him.
"Aldo... Village... 6 year old male, Kufar?" Sinbad asks, "Someone's name? that can't mean that the contents of this tank are?" They look at it in shock and Annalise turns at the sound of footsteps behind them.
"SIN!" Annalise screams.
"A monster..." Sinbad says, "In a place like this? This is bad... If we get attacked like this..." Sinbad's eyes go to Annalise as he pushes her behind him.
"Ad...Si...Sinbad." The monster manages to say and Annalise's eyes widen in shock, "Sinbad of Tison Village... You really are Sinbad aren't you? That must mean this is... Annalise."
"Y-Yeah." Sinbad says with his hand on Baal's sword.
"You're really grown. You look just like your parents." The monster says, "Welcome back, Sinbad." Annalise's eyes fill with other terror as she realizes who the monster is.
"Annalise remembers me. That makes sense. I'm stuck in this body now. There's no way you could recognize me. It's me. I was always with you two back in Tison Village. I was with you two during Esra's final moments too." The woman says.
"A-Auntie!!!" Sinbad yells shocked.

"That's right. I'm glad you remember me." She says.
"But... how? Why are you in a place like this? And why do you look that? What happened to you?!" Sinbad asks.
"I... was brought here." She says, "It happened a few years after you left our village. Soldiers came to our village and rounded up unpatriotic citizens who had committed treason against Parthevia. That's what they told us before they brought us to this facility. This facility was used for the military's human experiments. Experiments that turned humans into monsters. It was horrible. Person after person fell victim right before my eyes. But we survived. Even though we ended up like this." More come out of the shadows and Annalise holds back her shocked scream as tears begin streaming down her cheeks.
"Don't worry, Sin. They were all humans once, just like me. Although unfortunately, I'm the one left that can still speak." The woman says, "All of us here are 'failures' we were fused with monsters from dungeons and those of us that fused unsuccessfully were labeled as failures. They're going to dispose of us. Until then, they've locked us up here."
'So that's what he meant. It wasn't a lie. I wanted to believe it. But the truth to be something like this.' Sinbad's thoughts say.
"Sin, you understand don't you? No matter what any of us do, those in this country that don't fit their standards are labeled as unpatriotic citizens that will never change. Those of us with that label are a nuisance that must be eliminated. Sin... please, save us. If we stay here, we'll be killed. I don't want to die!" The woman says, "I heard about you. You two became a huge success in Reim. Surely, as the heads of the top trading company in the world, there's something you can do to help us? Please save us! Sinbad!"
'What should I do? Should I break these bars and free everyone? No, that's not a realistic solution. Then, should I petition Barbarossa for their release directly? No I can't. If I do that, it will hurt my relationship with him. All of this planning will have been for naught. I must avoid that at all costs. So, what can I do? Do I just have to accept this situation? Do I have to stand by and let everyone here... these people... people from my hometown... die?' Sinbad's thoughts say, 'Auntie and everyone else?'
"What every you choose... I'll follow you." Annalise says, "It won't change my views on you. You are my husband after all."
"Sinbad! I'm begging you. Save us... please don't abandon us." The woman says, "You're the only hope we have left."
'What should I do?' Sinbad's thoughts ask.
"Sin! Sinbad! Sinbad!" The woman pleases. Flashes of who the people used to be, Esra, their friends, the company, and Rashid before Annalise announcing that they are having a child.
'I've come so far... I... What must I do?' Sinbad's thoughts say as Sinbad's most rememberable moments are scenes with Annalise and the others, 'What I must do!'
"Sinbad!" the woman begs.
Sinbad remembers Jafar's beating at the Miradel Trading Company's island as he knocked some sense back into Sinbad.
[The Next Day]
"What? You want to buy that island?" Barbarossa asks.
"Yes, please allow me to purchase it." Sinbad says as Annalise and Jafar stood in front of him.
"Really? Wouldn't you rather return to your company to discuss things?" Barbarossa asks.
"There's no need. We would come to the same decision." Sinbad says as he couldn't actually look Barbarossa in the face.
"I've made the preliminary calculations, and even if we make allowances for repaying the money we'd owe, the business that such a move would create would still net us an enormous profit. This is a huge opportunity for us. I have no objections." Jafar explains.
"I see. If that's the case, then I accept. But... Sinbad? What happened to you?" Barbarossa asks, "You and Annalise look like you are unwell."
"Do we?" Sinbad asks.
"Last night I received a report that you two had been spotted in mid-air above the island." Barbarossa asks.
"Sin! Did you two do something like that without permission?" Jafar asks.
"I was just worried. After all, that place still hasn't been cleaned up. Sinbad did you two see something there?" Barbarossa asks.
"No. There wasn't anything to see." Sinbad says.
"Sin? Are you two really alright?" Jafar asks, "You're not yourself today. You really saw something yesterday, didn't—"
"Jafar." Sinbad says, "I'm fine. We're just a bit tired. Please head back to the inn without me. I'll finish up the last of the business here and then follow suit."
"I understand." Jafar says.
'Thisis fine... Because of this, we'll finally be able to make our dream a reality. I'lldo whatever I have to do to make that happen. This is my own sin... this is thepath I chose for myself. I'll keep pushing forward. No matter how soiled myhands become. This is my destiny.' Sinbad's thoughts say. Annalise watchesSinbad walk away. She didn't question him. He'd asked her to leave so that shedidn't see anything. She'd complied and went outside the entire building. Evenif she was outside... she knew the sins he committed last night.
