《Sinbad: High King of the Seas》Chapter 35: "Hinahoho Vs Mytras, Jafar Vs Masrur!"

The battle continues with neither Hinahoho or Mytras giving in. Annalise floated beside Zepar as she watched. The others were on a different platform watching. Sinbad has his hands on his hips while Jafar was worried. The girls and Drakon just stood off watching.
"This is a fight between spear wielders. It's a serious one-on-one match that will continue until one of them is defeated." Sinbad says.
"Yeah, but how will it turn out?" Jafar asks.
"Wow, he's got the same ridiculous strength as always, huh? It would be difficult to withstand even one of those attacks." Sinbad says.
"But he can't just keep running away, either." Jafar says as Hinahoho was looking for Mytras who vanished into the dust cloud he created.
"Tch... I overdid it, huh?" Hinahoho says and he gasps when he gets slices with Mytras' attack, "UGH!"
"HAAH!" Mytras yells.
"He's so fast!" Jafar says
"That's the spearmanship he learned as one of the Sasan Knights... he leaves no opening for a counter attack." Sinbad explains.
'He's even faster than he was when I saw him fight in Sasan. When did he...' Sinbad's thoughts say in unison with Annalise. Hinahoho manages to get free and he goes to step down on Mytras' weapon as he lifts his leg up a little into the air. Mytras jumps back to dodge.
"Whoa!" Annalise says.
"That sure was a good attack. However, against the body of someone from Imuchakk, you've barely left a scratch." Hinahoho says.
"He's bleeding though." Annalise mumbles in annoyance.
"Lord Hinahoho is really resilient after all." Jafar says.
"But if he continues to take attacks like that, the damage will add up. After all, it's an overwhelming number of attacks from a knight with unmatched accuracy vs a few devastating attacks from a warrior whose best weapon is his resilience." Sinbad says.
"It is a good match." Jafar says.
"Mytras has practiced hard and gained a lot of experience for his age." Sinbad says, "This match may be a prolonged one." Hinahoho rushes forward to attack. Mytras gets ready as he mentally freaks out.
'It's no good... I don't have the strength to decide this match. Just one more attack... If I can just make it a decisive one.' Mytras' thoughts say.
'Dammit, those attacks have really taken their toll on me. At this rate, I'll be the one who runs out of energy first.' Hinahoho's thoughts say.
'If I can just muster the strength to overwhelm my opponent in this one final attack...' Their thoughts say in unison, 'If we can't, then we can never become our king's sword!'
"Huh?" Annalise says in shock as the two collide. Sinbad's eyes widen when both Baal and Valefor react.
"Baal?" Sinbad asks in shock, "Valefor?"
'I AM! I AM! I AM THE STRONGEST SPEAR!' Mytras and Hinahoho's thoughts say in unison.
'Request my power. I am the household. I will bestow upon you a great power to help you protect your master.' Baal and Valefor's voices say in unison.
"HOUSEHOLD VESSEL BARARAQ HARBA!" Mytras yells.
"HOUSEHOLD VESSEL GALFOR ROROMUS!" Hinahoho yells.
"They've unlocked their household vessels!" Annalise yells and she covers herself from the wind of the two attacks colliding. There's an explosion and Annalise and Sinbad gasp in shock.

"HINAHOHO! MYTRAS!" Sinbad and Annalise yell in unison. The dust clears and Annalise's eyes widen.
"My, my... they are alive, although they've both completely exhausted their energy. The power of their household vessels was at the same level, so the attacks cancelled each other out." Zepar explains and picks the two up and sets them down at Sinbad's feet, "They were able to get this far by drawing out each other's power. Well, that means they both pass. But you know, that ending was pretty lame. A fight is supposed to be something a bit more desperate, a bit more of a life and death situation... at least that's what I want to see."
"Wait? You don't want them to kill each other do you?" Annalise asks shocked.
"Let's make it a bit more serious next time... Jafar and Masrur." Zepar says ignoring Annalise.
"What?" Jafar asks.
"Huh?" Masrur says.
"But this isn't going to be a simply contest of strength. It'll be the fight to the death. You two will be fighting until one of you manages to kill the other." Zepar says and Annalise gasps as tears fill her eyes. Masrur's fanalis power was going to easily overpower Jafar.
"What the hell?" Sinbad asks.
"Jafar and Masrur... will fight to the death?" Annalise asks.
"I'm afraid I have to refuse." Jafar says, "Zepar, wasn't this supposed to be a trial to test our strength? There's no reason we should fight to the death."
"You just don't get it, huh? Listen up. If I tell you to fight, you fight. If I tell you to kill each other, you kill each other. In a dungeon, the rules of the Djinn are absolute. Besides, what problem can you really have with it this late in the game? You've killed plenty of people to get where you are today, right? What's the problem with adding just one more to the body count?" Zepar asks and Jafar pales.
"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!" Annalise says angrily and Zepar looks at her, "They are children! You have no right to ask them to fight to the death! Jafar has changed and Masrur was recently freed from being a gladiator! They were forced to kill, that's true, but they hated it. On the inside, their just children who needed guidance and someone to care for them and that's what I've been doing."
"They will fight to the death, or I'll kill you. All I have to is snap your little n—" Zepar says and he gets sliced in half by Masrur. Zepar ends up dropping Annalise who uses her momentum to flip and land beside Sinbad and the others.
"Masrur!" Annalise says.
"I'm not a slave anymore. No one can order me to fight to the death ever again and I most certainly won't be ordered to with Annalise's life held for ransom if we don't." Masrur says.
"You kids really don't listen to what you're told. It's pointless. As long as you're in the dungeon, its Djinn is invincible. Not a single one of your attacks will be effective." Zepar says after putting himself back together, "But fine. If you're really that against following my orders... then I'll go this." He hits Masrur with some kind of attack.
"MASRUR!" Jafar yells in unison with Annalise. Zepar stops the attack and then Masrur just stands there.

"Mas... rur?" Jafar asks. Masrur's eyes flash open, but they looked differently then they normally did. Masrur jumps up into the air.
"He jumped!" Sinbad says.
"He's coming down!" Annalise screams as she grabs Sinbad and Jafar and she jumps back out of the way as Masrur comes flying down towards them. He crashes into the ground.
"Masrur? Are you okay, Masrur?!" Jafar asks.
"Wow! Amazing! So this is the power of the ancient red lions. It far surpasses normal human limits." Masrur says, "How about it? Now we can make this an interesting death match."
"Z-Zepar." Annalise says shocked as he uses Masrur's body to run around.
"Heh! Bingo!" Zepar says, "I have the ability to meddle with people's minds. I fiddled with the kid's brain a bit. His consciousness is asleep and I'm in control of his body now."
"RELEASE HIM!" Annalise says angrily as she stomps towards Zepar. The small rocks from Zepar's crash rises up around Annalise's feet.
"Annalise." Sinbad say and he grabs Annalise's shoulder, "This is one of the Djinn's tests. Zepar may have a reason for all this... Let's just keep an eye on things for now."
"I'm sorry, Annalise. I don't have a choice." Jafar says as he moves down to the fighting platform and Zepar lands across from him, "I'm also sorry, Masrur. BARARAQ—" Zepar jumps out of the way again before he comes down and lands a hit on Jafar's arm.
"AH!" Jafar says as he crumbles to the ground.
"It's not over yet!" Zepar says and then goes to attack again. Jafar manages to dodge out of the way but his cheek gets sliced.
"What the hell was that attack?!" Drakon asks.
"No, that wasn't an attack. It's something that happens when we move too fast." Annalise says.
"Yeah, that was just a shock wave. As Masrur accelerated, the air surrounding him compressed. Creating a slashing effect just from the movement of the air. Masrur... no, Zepar was just moving around and yet..." Sinbad says.
"Hmph... I can't control this body very well yet. Oh well. As long as I can move it, I should be able to eliminate you." Zepar says.
"You made a fatal mistake choosing a Red lion. We hate being controlled." Annalise says as she hisses angrily.
"But I'd better be careful too. Because if I bring out my full strength in this body, I might end up destroying the entire treasury along with you." Zepar says, "Better prepare yourself. This match has barely started, right?"
'What is this... this terrible premonition... it feels like I'm facing a being whose abilities overwhelmingly transcend those of humans. All of my instincts are screaming that I must not fight him...' Jafar's thoughts say as Zepar rushes towards Jafar.
"This isn't going well, Sinbad." Drakon says, "If this is Masrur's true power, it far surpasses that of any normal human being it feels like the fantastic power I gained when I became like this. Even though Jafar was narrowly able to escape that attack, it was only because his skills as an assassin have made his body hyperaware of his surroundings. However, if he continues like this... he'll die. Sinbad? Are you listening to me?"
"HA-HA! Awesome! You're just barely standing now, huh? Yet, I don't even have a scratch on me!" Zepar says, "But I'm already bored of this. I'll out an end to you with one final blow."
"Jafar doesn't have the strength left to move." Drakon says.
"JAFAR!" Annalise and Sinbad yell in unison.
"Although it looks like even without that, you've already reached your limit." Zepar says.
"This is bad... if the fight continues... Jafar will die. What should we do, Sinbad? Sinbad?" Drakon asks.
"Limit me? You sure are conceited. Your true form can't be harmed and you borrowed another person's body in order to fight... is that how you intend to win?" Jafar asks, "Even though you're a Djinn, your true nature isn't actually that great, is it?"
"You're really getting on my nerves. Fine. I'll rip you apart. You and the impertinent mouth of yours." Zepar says.
"Jafar, this is bad! Run!" Drakon yells and Annalise gasps with Sinbad.
"DIE!" Zepar says and goes to finish Jafar. At the last moment, Jafar manages to tie Masrur's body up.
"WHAT?!" Zepar asks.
"I finally caught you! No matter how strong you are, you can't break a household vessel, can you? It was tough. With your speed you were easily able to avoid my attack... but you forgot one thing... MASRUR ISN'T THE ONLY FANALIS I KNOW!" Jafar says.
"That move." Sinbad says.
"Jafar and I were working on that. Just in case before everything happened." Annalise says.
"Now then... GET OUT OF MASRUR!" Jafar yells, "BARARAQ SEI!" Jafar shocks Masrur's body and Zepar screams. Jafar stops and finds Masrur unconscious.
"Masrur... I'm sorry." Jafar says and Masrur's eyes begin to open, "Masrur! You're awake!"
"Heh, you sure surprised me. You almost knocked me out cold. Don't make that face. It's okay. Once the match is decided, I'll leave this body." Zepar says.
"Decided? Wasn't it just decided?" Jafar asks.
"Nope. Didn't I say at the start? This is a fight to the death. You can't end this until one of you is dead. Go on. Kill him. If you kill him, you win. If one of you dies, you pass. That's the trial I've set for you." Zepar says, "You want to devote your household vessel to serving your master, don't you? If you want to do that... kill him." Jafar stands up and Annalise looks down at them.
"Jafar?" Drakon asks.
"Something's not right. The match should already have been decided." Sinbad says.
"This fight to the death lasts until one of us died? That was the condition, right? If that's the case, then it doesn't matter which one of us dies... does it?" Jafar asks before he looks up at Annalise and Sinbad, "Annalise, thank you for showing me what a mother's love is truly like... Sin, I'll leave the rest to you."
"Jafar!" Annalise screams as she and Sinbad realize what heplans to do. Jafar smiles at them before he stabs himself in the heart.Annalise lets out a shocked scream while everyone gasps. Zepar makes Masrur'seyes widen while Sinbad stares shocked.

After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them.
