《Sinbad: High King of the Seas》Chapter 29: "Making a Country!"

Annalise walks over to Sinbad as he smiled at them and she grabs his hand again.
"Uh, oh what now?" Sinbad asks. She drags him and finds his outfit for him. She holds it out to him.
"Stop wearing your underwear!" Annalise says.
"Uh, right." Sinbad says and he gets his outfit on. They head out and Annalise sighs as she stood beside him.
"Sin? It's been a long time since I've seen you looking like that. It suits you." Jafar says as he looks over from talking with some people. Sinbad turns to look at Jafar and he places his hand on his hip.
"Alright! Let's go to Balbadd!" Sinbad says.
Sinbad, Annalise, Jafar and Hinahoho bow respectively to King Rashid. Annalise and Sinbad look up at him after staring at the ground for a while.
"We're extremely grateful to be granted the favor of your hospitality. I, Sinbad, one of the heads of the Sindria Trading Company, have come here today to give you my thanks and to report our accomplishments to you... King Rashid of Balbadd." Sinbad says.
"Sindria Trading Company has left Napolia of Reim and has officially completed it's move to Balbadd. We've already completed our reconstruction and plan to reopen as early as tomorrow." Annalise explains.
"All of this is thanks to your majesty's generosity. Also, about the incident with the Mariadel Company... without your assistance, Annalise and I wouldn't be here today." Sinbad says.
"Heh, no need for such strict formality. Just treat me the same way you always have." Rashid says and Annalise looks at Rashid expecting a scolding, "Welcome back you two. I'm glad you're back safely."
"I expected a scolding." Annalise mumbles.
"I'm getting there. Your lives really are an adventure isn't it? The first time we met, you two were unbelievably rash. You have so much courage it could be called recklessness. I'm not sure whether that's more admirable or shocking." Rashid says.
"I'm sorry. I throw myself into things I want to do whole-heartedly and then it ends up like this." Sinbad says.
"That's for sure. Please try putting yourself in the position of those around you." Jafar says.
"JAFAR!" Sinbad says, "You don't need to say that in front of my mentor!"
"But it's true." Jafar says. Rashid stares at the marks from the collars and chains on Sinbad and Annalise. Annalise wore an outfit that hid it on her arms and legs, but her neck was visible like Sinbad's.
"This whole incident gave me a chance to think about things and I realized something by becoming a slave. This world is full of so many unreasonable things besides war. I was glad I was able to realize that. This experience was definitely important for me... because of me, a lot of people were affected by everything that happened but... have no further hesitations about the path I must choose." Sinbad says, "I will build a country. Now that I have everything I need. This is the perfect time."

"I see... the time has finally come... however there still one thing I have to ask you." Rashid says, "I have no problem with you founding your won country, but just what are you planning to do about the land for your country."
"Land?" Sinbad asks.
"Just as I thought." Rashid says, "Think about it, if you don't have land, you can't build a country."
"That's a great question... since you're my mentor. I don't suppose I could have a small corner of Balbadd or something." Sinbad says.
"No." Rashid says.
"That's what I thought." Sinbad says.
"Of course you can't, Sin!" Jafar says.
"A country's foundation is its land. It's both your assets and your resources. However, most of the land in the world is territory that already belongs to one country or another. Historically, the only way to expand a country's territory has been to invade and conquer the land of another country and by doing so, it just promotes war." Rashid says.
"Yeah, we don't wanna do that." Annalise says.
"Although, if you found some untouched land somewhere capable of supporting a population that would be a different story... but you do have to those." Rashid says and points at the metal vessels, "Metal vessels. If you use that power of yours that surpasses human knowledge, it wouldn't be difficult for you to destroy a country in a single night. So, if you need the land to build a country, that's also an option." Annalise looks at Sinbad.
"However, it would be awfully hypocritical of you to found your country through conflict when you dream of creating a country to end conflicts. So what will you do, Sinbad?" Rashid asks, "How will you create your own country?" Sinbad gulps as he didn't want to attack someone.
"Don't look so scared. I'm not trying to threaten you. I'm just interested in your answer. However, as an apology, let me tell you something good. South of the Reim Empire is a land commonly known as the Dark Continent." Rashid says, "It's a place that's considered a savage untouched land."
"The dark continent... that's Annalise's place of birth." Sinbad says.
"That's right. It's a vast amount of land that belongs to no country. I can't guarantee that it's the type of place you're looking for, but it's the only untouched land left in the world. It might be good to go and take a look at it. But don't forget... creating a new society isn't going to be so simple. Creating a country won't be any easier." Rashid says.

"About that... as my mentor—" Sinbad says and gets interrupted by some kids. He walks over to them.
"Quit your complaining. It's loud. Who are you two?" Sinbad asks. The two kids freak out and run from Sinbad. Sinbad manages to grab them.
"You two... I thought I told you to stay out of here. Hurry up and get out." Rashid says.
"What did you say? Who are these brats?" Sinbad asks.
"But why father? Why did you let a guy like this into the palace?" One brat says.
"Father?" Annalise asks.
"You don't mean these two are..." Sinbad says.
"That's right. These are my sons." Rashid says and Annalise and Sinbad look at Ahbmad Saluja, the first prince and the second prince named Sahbmad Saluja.
"King Rashid's sons?" Annalise asks.
"Are they really your sons? They don't look like you at all." Sinbad says. The oldest yells at Sinbad. The two children run off and Annalise looks at Sinbad.
"A perfect country doesn't exist either. You must understand that, right? Your homeland is a good example." Rashid says.
"Did something happen in Parthevia?" Sinbad asks.
"I guess you haven't heard. It's been quite some time now, but your homeland of Parthevia has... agreed to sign a cease fire treaty with Reim." Rashid says before explaining that a general has changed everything Parthevia, "So, before you set out to change the world... I heard that you originally left your country to attain enough power to save it. If that was where you started, I think it would be a good idea to try thinking once more about what you want to do, and why you want to build your own country."
Sinbad stares at the sky as he was deep in thought. Annalise stood beside Jafar and Hinahoho.
"Sin." Jafar says.
"What should we do now?" Hinahoho asks.
"We need to search for land to build a country, but I also want to know what's going on in Parthevia." Jafar says and Annalise looks up at some kids who were playing. A blonde boy ran with another boy beside him. The blonde boy turns to look at her and the two exchange a look. Annalise turns her attention to Hinahoho when he speaks.
"Kids... they sure are energetic, huh?" Hinahoho says.
"Yeah... but..." Jafar says.
"Slums? Right?" Hinahoho says.
"I guess places like this really do exist, despite the fact that Balbadd is flourishing with trade. Just as King Rashid said, building a country and maintaining it won't be a simple task." Jafar says.
"I've made up my mind!" Sinbad says and he begins to explain, "What's most important is that Parthevia has becomes a peaceful country. We were not aware of the situation except for what we heard from Drakon about General Barbarossa's coup d'état. But it seems like he may not be merely a villain without a plan." Annalise nods as she listens.
"However, this sort of information would probably just make Drakon and the others uneasy... so, let's not tell them." Sinbad says.
"Eh?" Annalise asks in shock.
"Anyway, it's good to hear that the war is over. Despite that, even though there are things I want to change about the world, there will always be countries that won't change, and organizations and people that promote injustice." Sinbad says, "I said I'd start by saving my home country, but... I'm not about to stand in the way of my own progress. Besides, a new adventure on the dark continent is waiting for me! I get to see the land that Annalise was born at! I can't wait to find out some information about her home continent."
"But Sin..." Annalise says.
"I wonder what this wild, untouched land will be like? Can we build our own country there? It's so exciting!" Sinbad says.
"He's ignoring me." Annalise says.
"Jeez." Hinahoho says.
"Good grief." Jafar says.
"Our next destination is the dark continent! Let's go find our own nation!" Sinbad says and Annalise looks up at the kids watching Sinbad and Annalise. With her good ears she picks up the kid's conversation.
"What's up? Is something going on?" One boy asks.
"It's nothing. I just think they were pretty strange. She's got pretty pink hair." The other one says.
"Hmph." The first one says, "Oh, well. Let's go, Alibaba."
"Yeah, Cassim!" Alibaba says. Alibabawas age five. It will be another thirteen years before he finally meetsAnnalise and Sinbad.
