《It's Not Over》Make Up Your Mind

"So they were married when I was there and I didn't know? I would have congratulated them! I can't believe they were together!" Andy exclaimed as she and Rosie laid on her bed after dinner, studying the ceiling. Daisy an Ira had left shortly before but Rosie had insisted on helping clean up and he didn't take no for an answer. Now finished and exhausted but still talking, found themselves in her room, studying the chipping paint above them.

"Well, they were married a few hours before we knew."

"That makes me so happy, though. I mean, I figured they were going to get back together, but that's amazing, they've been together all this time. I'm demanding you hug them for me."

"You can hug them yourself."

"In like three weeks!" She exclaimed, turning her head to him.

"Yes, but if I get into the trial, as much as you want."

"They'd move with you?"

"And I don't wanna out Hornstock but... he might be looking for captain jobs around here."

"You'd all be moving here," she said, needing clarification and to hear it out loud in order to process it herself.

"Your mother misses you. He wants to be captain..." he stopped when she looked back to the ceiling, inhaling deeply. "You don't want that."

"No, it's not that at all. I miss all of you and I want everyone to do what they want to do."

"Then what is it?"

"It's... a lot. Just combining two worlds that- don't connect. I'm Annalise and I'm Andrea and I don't know how to be both."

"And nobody knows you as both."

"So that was as apparent as I thought it was," she commented, laughing.

"Yeah, Jack seemed a little horrified."

"Well, believe it or not, most people don't discuss homicide over a meal."

"Really? I did not know that," he said, sarcastically. Annalise sighed, bumping her foot with his.

"I missed you, Rosie."

"I thought you said you don't miss anything when-"

"I replaced the job." She interrupted him, knowing what she said. "Not you."

"I missed you, too." She rolled over slightly to lean up against him and he found himself allowing it. Inviting it. And then pulling her in for a hug. "Never run away, again, Annalise. When I found out you weren't in LA... that you were just gone... you have no idea what that did to me."

"I didn't run away."

"You might have found a great life here. But you left everything behind and you didn't look back."

"I-I couldn't," she struggled to find the words to explain but he didn't need her to try.

"I know, I know. I just don't want to be left behind again."

"You shipped me off, Rosie. You sent me to LA," she began as she pulled out of his hug and climbed to her feet.

"That's not what I was doing," he replied, sitting up. "Your brother- he got in my head. He told me to be all in or step aside. I wanted you. I wanted you more than I've ever wanted anyone but I didn't know what you wanted. When I sent Adrian away, if you went, I'd step aside. If you stayed... I would have been all in."

"I told you to make me stay. Which do you think I wanted? And then you couldn't come up with anything but my name! Rosie, I made my decision on that dock but you did too. I would have probably stayed had you said literally anything but you let me go. So don't tell me I ran away! You let me go and I went. Just like you wanted."

"Eddie died too soon. And I will too," he voiced the concerns that'd kept him years before. "I wasn't going to do that to you."

"But I don't regret Eddie. The pain of losing him will never measure up to the joy I felt from being with him. He was worth the pain."

"You could find love with someone that's not a time bomb. You couldn't love me, it wouldn't be fair-"

"But I did. I love you, Rosie. Your health is not a factor in what I feel." The room fell dead silent, causing them to both realize how loud they'd been. "What about what you want, Rosie? You deserve to be loved. To have who you want."

"I can't hurt you." Annalise sighed, studying him before she stepped forward and straddled his lap, knees on the bed. Rosie froze, overwhelmed by desire when only a few layers of clothing separated them. She lifted his chin and kissed him slowly and softly, relief rushing through her entire body like a drug. A kiss she'd been so close to many times before. And she was finally giving in. Instinctively, his hand cupped her back lightly. When their lips parted, she hovered less than an inch from him, taking in the moment incase they'd never be this close again. Then without a word, she climbed off of him.

"You know what I want. But I'm not the only person in this," she concluded, backing away. Her phone began buzzing on her desk and she reached for it to see a text from Sullivan asking when she'd be by.

"Your boyfriend?" He asked, reading her expression. He didn't know if they were exclusive or exactly what they were, but Annalise's expression was laced with guilt.

"Yeah," she whispered softly. "I've gotta go... so do you."

He followed her to the door, where she grabbed her keys and a jacket, and then to the lobby, only speaking when the reached the front door and he pulled her in for a hug.

"I want you, Villa," he said softly into her ear. Remaining close, she came down from her toes, sliding her hand down his shoulder. He brushed a piece of hair from her face as he admired it, being warmly lit by the light from the lobby of the building.

"Three weeks," she whispered. "I'll see you in three weeks, Rosie." She smiled softly, going up on her toes again and planting a soft kiss on his cheek. "Call me about the trial. And have a safe flight." He watched as she walked to her car, a smile on his face. He'd have to wait three weeks but then, he could have her. Finally.

Annalise couldn't experience much joy from this just yet. While she knew what she wanted, and she knew it was better for Robert to find someone else, she hated the thought of letting him go. But she'd kissed another man. She was in love with another man.

Robert let her in, shut the door, and turned to Andy with strong suspicions about what she was about to do.

"I'm sorry," she finally spoke after some hesitation, shaking her head, eyes full of tears. "I didn't realize- I didn't think about him for years."

"Rosie," he stated, waiting for confirmation.

"I thought he was behind me. But my past- it caught up. And then he showed up."

"And you still love him," Robert stated, having known it before Andy knew herself. "Did something happened?"

"I kissed him. That's it. I didn't do anything more- I wouldn't even think to."

"I think you should go." Robert replied, quietly, diverting his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Robert."

"I don't- I don't care that you kissed him half as much as I care that you love him," he stated, having never decided to stop seeing other people, though he believed it was simply understood. "But I can only be mad at you for one of those things. And I am. And I really think you should get your stuff and go."

"I'll be out in five." She was glad to have left an overnight bag, seeing how she could throw everything she had at his house in and get out as fast as possible. When she came back downstairs, he watched her go, but neither of them exchanged a word.

A/N- Surrera fans, they still exist in the same firehouse! I've been drafting and I think it'd be fun to see how they kind of recover their friendship and go from there. Who knows what might happen?

I started writing this thinking I wasn't going to upload it but I'm glad I did. Thanks for the comments, guys! More very soon 💖

Also, can we talk about that picture ^^
