Don't Forget Me Part 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonny had gone home after getting some updates from the doctor. The other VSF officers were taking turns to guard Alban.
The operation went well, but Alban was still in a bad condition. He needed to be monitored until his recovery. If ever that happens.
Sonny lay down on his shared bed with Alban hugging the pillow on Alban's side of the bed to his chest.
He was so guilty for shooting the male twice, but he felt like he had to prove to the others that he wasn't a traitor. Though he was wrong. He didn't have to do so just to prove that he was not involved with any of the phantom thief's actions.
The VSF officer couldn't help his tears. He could only hope that Alban would forgive him for what he had done the same as how he forgave the other for hiding things from him.
Sometime, Sonny remembered what Alban had told him earlier.
He quickly rushed up from his bed and started looking for the journal Alban had told him about. Alban didn't say anything about where it was placed so he would have to find it himself.
He checked the place Alban always hangs out in and that was Sonny's office. He had hoped that it would be there knowing the amount of time the male would spend there as Sonny does his work.
He couldn't find the journal Alban had said. Maybe it's because he doesn't know what it looks like with the number of notebooks and books that are in Sonny's bookshelves.
He then remembered that Alban used to keep his stuff in the safety box in Sonny's office. He only needed to know the password to get in.
Alban's birthday? Didn't work. Sonny's birthday? Also didn't work. Their anniversary? No. But the day they first met, will. If Sonny will be able to remember that which apparently he did.
He was shocked to see the amount of jewelry and expensive looking things in it. With gold necklaces to diamond rings.
He was careful not to move too much of the things that were in the safe as he looked for the journal he had been looking for.
Sonny had found the journal under the box of a necklace. The necklace that Sonny had bought him for their anniversary last year. He was happy that it was still there since Alban had told him he accidentally lost it.
The journal was rather small, and it fits right into Sonny's hands. He began to read through the pages. He felt tears in his eyes as he saw how the other journaled everything that they had done together before they became a couple.

He was stunned by each and every word. How Alban explained that Sonny was so supportive and how stupid he is sometimes. But Alban also stated in the journal, how he began to accept the man in his life.
Sonny had truly awakened something in Alban. How it feels to love and to be loved by someone. To be taken care of as if you were a fragile object.
Alban may have a bad job, if you could even call it one, but his past was something that motivated him to live to his best regards.
He took care of others like how his friends took care of him. Sadly, those friends aren't around anymore.
Sonny flipped through the pages as he learned more about how Alban had lived in the past.
Soon, he was able to find the number Alban was probably talking about. And on top of it, it said, "Yugo Asuma."
He took his phone out and immediately dialed the number.
~Ring ~ Ring~
"Hello? Who is this?" Said the other line.
"Is this Yugo Asuma I'm talking to?" Sonny asked.
"Yes. May I know who you are?" Yugo asked.
"I'm Sonny Brisko, and I'm guessing you know Alban Knox." Sonny replied.
"Yeah. He's my friend. What happened to him?"
"He's in a critical condition right now. He's in xxx Hospital..."
The other line went silent until another voice came to respond.
"What happened to Alban? Why is he in the hospital?"
"... He... He got shot... Twice... While he was... in the museum-..."
The other line had hung up the call before he could even finish his sentence. Now Sonny was left sitting on the floor as his tears began to fall again.
-Time Skip the next day-
Sonny sat silently in his office chair fiddling with the envelope that was in his hands. He had just finished working on some files in VSF.
He stood up from his seat and walked straight to the head in charge in VSF, ignoring the greetings of his colleagues.
He had arrived in front of the office of his head and was about to knock when he felt an arm on his shoulders.
He looked back to see the person he was looking for. The head of VSF, Zen. Zen opened the door and walked inside his office gesturing for Sonny to follow him.
Sonny sat down on the couch and placed the envelope on the table.
Zen looked at the envelope on the table and examined it carefully.
"You want to.... Resign?" Zen asked.
Sonny nodded. "I don't think I can take this case anymore. I am willing to catch the phantom thief but knowing that it was Alban, it made my heart sink. I don't support his actions, but I know his reasons. I also lied when I said I knew he was the thief. I had no idea and I don't think he had the plans to tell me. I have learned to love Alban and that I'd do anything for him. I'm sorry."

Zen didn't show any sort of reactions that made Sonny feel really nervous.
"The phantom thief was a very important person to VSF, Sonny. So, I am not accepting your resignation letter." Zen answered.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Think about every person that the thief had troubled. They were all criminals. Criminals like drug lords, and a bunch of murderers. The phantom thief had led us to find those people that we have been searching for."
"That still doesn't make any sense. Make your point."
"You know his past, right? He's been in jail once, but I bailed him out because I thought that his 'smart' skills would get him to help us without him knowing."
Sonny was very confused. He had no idea what was happening and what his boss was trying to tell him.
"You see, almost 7 years ago, I met Alban after one of my ex-colleagues had told me they had caught the thief that was 'pestering' the other citizens of my old town. I looked into Alban's past, but I couldn't find anything. I decided to bail him out of jail to know more about this male. He stood out to me a lot. After I got into VSF, he asked me if he could do something to pay for bailing him out of jail. Me being the stupid person I am, tricked him into stealing things from those criminals that we have been looking for. Of course before you were in VSF. After some time when you had joined us, I had him have you so he could be safe from anything. Well that was the 2nd reason, but you were so harsh towards other people, I needed to pull some strings to keep you humble." Zen explained.
"My personal life, truly, doesn't concern yours." Sonny replied.
"I know. I'm sorry. Now, we can't do anything about Alban. He's gone to a far place with his mother."
"You phrased that as if he had passed away. He's not dead. He's unconscious."
Zen looked at him confused. "You haven't seen my message, have you?"
Sonny looked at him before fishing his phone out of his pocket immediately checking his messages.
The moment he read the message Zen had sent him this morning, tears instantly started to fall from his eyes as he immediately stood up and got out of the room.
Zen looked at the pitiful officer who had just stormed out of the room and cursed under his breath.
Some time later after Alban met Sonny, the thief had asked Zen to stop asking him to do stuff for him. What could Zen do? Decline? No! He was happy that Alban found happiness within Sonny's arms.
He didn't expect for Alban to come back to stealing again though. 3 years after their goodbyes to each other, Alban had made his comeback as a phantom thief.
After finding out about it, he had called Alban and even asked him to do things for him. Again. That was his fault for taking advantage of the guy.
In the morning Alban is Sonny's sweet boyfriend, but at night he's the thief everyone has been searching for.
He didn't know that Alban showed interest in the diamond in the museum that was made for the auction.
All VSF officers were on guard that night because the phantom thief might come that night.
Zen thought nothing would happen since he never said anything about it. But he was wrong all along.
Sonny had checked the message Zen had sent him and he was not okay. Even Zen wasn't okay after hearing the news. He just didn't want to show it.
Alban Knox. 31 years old. Had passed away at 6:27 a.m. on August 23, 2022.
Sonny got inside his car and rushed his way to the hospital. His tears were flowing endlessly as he tried his best not to lose control.
The moment he arrived he immediately went to ask for Alban. The nurse had explained that the corpse of the said man had been claimed by his said family.
Sonny was confused and he didn't know what to do. So, he slid down from the wall and cried and cried.
"Alban... Why'd you leave me?" Sonny cried out in pain.
Suddenly, he felt someone tap his shoulders making him look up. He saw a man with purple hair and two-colored eyes, just like Alban but purple and pink, and another man with blue hair.
"Sorry, d-do I know you?" Sonny asked through his tears.
"We... We're Alban's family from the foster home. I'm Uki and this is Yugo. We were the ones you had called last night." Said Uki, the purple haired guy, as he also introduced Yugo, the blue haired guy.
