Michelle had joined the photography club because she wanted to try something new this school year. On top of that, she still had to balance her time to participate in decathlon practice. In her new club though, she had unexpectedly made a friend, Nathan Stewart. He was very extroverted and outgoing, the complete opposite of herself. It didn't take them long to be able to grow close and bond over their love for photography. One day, Nathan had taken Michelle to the rooftop of their school. It was after class and the sun shone brightly on their fine skin. It wasn't a "cooking you into a barbecue" type of heat, but it was the perfect amount.
"Wow. How'd you get access up here?" She asked as she squinted her eyes at the sun.
"I know one of the staff. She allowed me to go up here when I said I just needed to for a project."
"Well, what do you really need it for?"
"Come here.." He gestured near the edge. At first, she was hesitant but she followed anyway. Nathan scanned across the vast horizon and breathed deeply. "Here, sit here." He patted on the ledge of the rooftop. He saw the horrific look on MJ's face and his expression changed into a snap.
"No! No, it's not like that. I won't hurt you, I promise. Just trust me on this one, MJ." He held out his hand. After a few deep breaths later, she took it. "Sit still, okay?" She nodded silently. "Okay so, look in the distance with a serious expression." She did as she was told as Nathan pulled out his camera and snapped. "Now, smile for the camera."
"You know I don't smile upon command. I only do so when it feels right."
"Oh come on, Michelle. I know you want to." He gave her a smirk. Then he started teasing her, making her chuckle and giggle here and there. "Hey, you smiled!" He said.
"Shit. Okay, you got me." She smiled for the camera.
"I can't believe I'm able to take a picture of two beautiful views all at once." said Nathan as Michelle stood up to preview the picture. She smacked his arm playfully.
"There's only one view and it's right there." She pointed at the horizon. "Dang, someone failed at math." She smirked, looking at the picture.
"Oh, so you are agreeing that you are, indeed, beautiful?" He grinned.
"I never said that!" She smacked his shoulder again. He laughed. A few moments later, he spoke again.
"But you are, though." She looked up at him with love eyes. He leaned in and kissed her.
Meanwhile, Peter Parker was back in his apartment, researching on how to make his we fluid more stronger, flexible and durable. A little while later, his phone got a notification that said that its storage is almost full and reminded him to delete excess files, past texts and old voice messages. He went through his past voice messages and was surprised to see Michelle's abundant amount of voice memos. He had forgotten about all of these because of his recent Spider-Man duties. He listened to them one by one and smiled at all of them. The tone of her voice in the record always came out flat yet Peter heard the concerned tone in Michelle's voice in each one of the memos. It reminded him of the sincerity Aunt May had in her voice all the time. He thought it was really sweet of MJ to send him all those voicemails. From then on, he started to think of her differently.

Peter approached his locker with glee. The thought of him greeting MJ today made him a little too joyful.
"What's with that grin today, huh Peter?" Ned asked.
"It's a new day today, Ned. Why not start it with a smile on your face?" He pinched his best friend's cheeks and stretched them out.
"You aren't usually this smiley. I'm worried, Pete."
"Don't be. I'm alrigh--" As they were walking, they crossed paths with MJ... and Nathan Stewart. The sight of them holding hands and making each other laugh immediately wiped the huge grin on Peter's face.
"Why the long face? Literally a few minutes ago, you were just all happy smiley faces everywhere, now you're this?"
"Let's just get to class. I don't wanna deal with any more bullshit today."
"Well.. okay."
Their first class was English. Michelle and Nathan sat side by side near the side of the windows. Peter sat in the opposite direction, looking over occasionally at them and thinking, I was too late.
During lunch, Michelle usually sat with Peter and Ned but it was the only the three of them. This time, she brought a plus one, which took both Peter and Ned by surprise.
"And you are?" asked Peter in a sassy tone, which left Michelle and Ned confused.
"Uhh.. guys, this is Nathan. We met in photography club." She looked at Nathan and smiled, he smiled back. The sight of it made Peter want to punch him. But he wasn't going to. Not now.
"Hi." He held his hand out to Ned and he shook it. When he held his hand out to Peter, his Spider-Sense immediately triggered. Danger's near, he thought. He ignored Nathan's hand and looked around, nothing odd was happening. Nathan still held his hand out to him awkwardly, waiting for Peter to shake it. When he shook it, he suddenly got the Spider-Sense again until he realized, it was him. He's the danger that was near. He swiftly pulled his hand back from the handshake as Nathan's eyebrow raised.
"Sorry. Just.. my palms are a bit sweaty."
"Oh no, it's fine."
"So.. are you two dating?" asked Ned.
"Uhh.." Michelle tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and let out a nervous chuckle. Peter had regretted all those times he ignored her. Just look at her, he thought to himself. She's perfect.
"I mean, technically we are." said Nathan, holding her by the waist. Peter sighed, and almost cried.
Michelle and Peter stood up and went to the lunch counter and got their trays of food.
"So, what're you doing after school?" He shyly asked.
"I'm going to Nathan's house."
"But.. why??"
"Why do you care?" She didn't mean it to come off in a rude way, but it did.

"Come here.." He pulled her to the side.
"What?"
"He's.. he's dangerous, Michelle." He whispered.
"And what do you mean by that?"
"I just.. I personally don't trust him. I don't think you should either."
"You're not the boss of me, Pete."
"I know that but, I just don't want to see you get hurt."
"Where'd you even get the idea that someone like him would hurt me?!" Peter was stumped. He couldn't mention the Spider-sense because he couldn't risk his secret being announced to the world. And because Peter took way too long to respond, Michelle decided to fill in the silence with, "You're jealous, aren't you?"
"What? N-No, I'm not..." His voice went high-pitched and he started blushing.
"Pete, I know when you're lying." She smirked.
"MJ, just listen to me, okay?! He's not good for you! He's not good for anyone! He gives me a weird vibe and I just don't like him. You need to stay away from him. Just trust me on this one."
"Would you just stop?! You don't even know him like I do, how can you even judge him like that?!"
"I know I don't have evidence at all, but I trust my instincts. They're always right." A series of flashbacks appeared right before his eyes. It was all the times his Spider-sense had failed him, and there were plenty of moments. "Well, most of the time. But, still."
"Why can't you just be happy for me and not meddle around with my great-ass life?"
"MJ, I'm only worried about you. I.. I care about you, okay? A lot."
"Peter, please just stay out of this, okay? I don't wanna be mad at you because.. I know you mean well. But I can handle myself. You don't trust him, but I do." He couldn't help but sigh.
"Alright. Just.. stay safe."
"I always will."
***At Nathan's house***
Nathan held Michelle's hand tightly as they entered his house. They went straight to his bedroom.
"So.. you're home alone?"
"Yeah, most of the time." He suddenly had a conniving look on his face, which scared MJ.
"Umm.. what's wrong, Nathan?"
"Nothing." He talked in a seductive voice, holding Michelle's waist. His hands slowly trailed on her butt as he pinched both of her cheeks.
"Nathan, please stop. I don't like this. We are not doing this." She started pulling away.
"Oh come on, baby." Michelle started to become furious.
"Get your hands off of me and stop calling me 'baby'!!!" She pushed his hands away but he kept touching her again and again. He pushed her onto his bed and crawled over her. She started crying and breathing heavily. Nathan pinned her down on the bed.
"Stay. Here." He held both of her wrists down on the mattress on one hand and unbuttoned her jeans with the other. She shook him off as hard as she could.
"GET OFF OF ME! NATHAN, I SWEAR TO GOD."
"I finally got you where I wanted." He creepily said. She pushed his entire body off of her and grabbed her things and ran, sobbing. She ran a few blocks away from Nathan's house and her immediate instinct was to call Peter. He swiftly picked up.
"Thank god you answered, ohmygod." She said on the phone, panting and crying.
"Where are you, MJ?" She looked around and said where she was. Peter knew she was gonna get in trouble, which is why he was able to get to her in his Spiderman suit in a blink of an eye. He stopped on an alleyway and removed his mask. It was time for her to know.
"P-Peter? You're Spider-Man?"
"Yeah. What happened, MJ? Tell me everything." They sat on one of the concrete blocks on the rooftop and she engulfed herself in Peter's arms, crying and venting.
"He pushed me onto the bed and just started to unbutton my jeans and I just.. I'm so sorry for not believing you, Peter."
"No no, it's okay, MJ. You didn't know. Please don't blame yourself."
"I just thought he was this amazing person. And he was so nice too." She sniffled. "I guess nobody can be trusted anymore, huh."
"Oh, MJ.." He kissed the top of her head. "Look, we need to report this to the police, okay?"
"I know. I know. We should go there now. Thanks for always being here, Peter. I really appreciate it."
"Don't mention it. I'll always be here, as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." He said, making her chuckle.
