《Moments | Spideychelle Oneshots Collection》Loser - LoVer

After a long day, Peter Parker logs into his twitter account, wherein he keeps his identity a secret. Meanwhile, Michelle Jones did the same.
Peter tweeted something someday and it blew up, and Michelle (not knowing who this was, just thinking it was a big account) replied. Their thread became longer and longer and they eventually decided to just dm each other everyday.
Peter: "Hello what's your name?"
Michelle, keeping her own identity a secret from anyone on the internet, always uses an alias.
Michelle: "Iza. What's yours?"
Little did she know, the person on the other side used an alias as well.
Peter: "I'm Ben."
Michelle: "Since when have you had your account?"
Peter: "Not long. Probably two months ago?"
Michelle: "And you already have over a thousand followers. Damn, your tweets always blow up, don't they?"
Peter: "That's the beauty of retweeting."
Michelle: "What kind of fandoms are you into right now?"
Peter: "Not a lot. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars. I like old movies, mainly John Hughes' work, Jurassic Park, and Aliens. And I think that's about it."
Michelle: "Nerd lmao. You remind me of someone I go to school with."
Peter: "How bout you? What are your fandoms?"
Michelle: "Well, I like to read, so I'm into a lot of book fandoms mostly."
Peter: "Like what?"
Michelle: "I like some of Stephen King's work. Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and I'm not really a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks or John Green. But they're not bad, so I still read their work."
Peter: "Oh my god, you remind me of someone I go to school with too."
Michelle: "What if we go to the same school?!?"
Peter: "That'd be AMAZING, holy crap."
Michelle: "Lmao I wish tho."
Peter: "Same."
The next few days, they started asking personal questions to one another. This time, none of them lied and said the full truth about one another.
Peter: "Well, I wasn't raised by my parents. I was raised by my aunt and my uncle (dad's brother)."
Michelle: "Oh, well, what happened to your parents (if you don't mind me asking)?"
Peter: "Died in a plane crash."
Michelle: "Oh. I'm so sorry."
Peter: "No, it's okay. What about you? Were you raised by your parents?"
Michelle: "Actually, I'm currently being raised by a parenT!"
Peter: "Oh, what happened to the other?"
Michelle: "Let's just say they got divorced."
Peter: "Oh. Well, are you doing okay?"
Michelle: "Yeah I'm handling it pretty well. I already knew everything was gonna lead up to a divorce anyway."
Seen
"So how's life with you and your aunt and uncle?"
Peter: "Oh, umm, only the aunt now, actually."
Michelle: "...and your uncle?"
Peter: "Got into an... accident, per se."

Michelle: "I'm so sorry, Ben. You really do remind me of someone I go to school with, actually."
Peter: "Who is it?"
Michelle: "This guy, Peter Parker."
Peter's suddenly confused. He doesn't have a classmate or anyone he knew that was named "Iza". He starts questioning her.
Peter: "Really? Wow we must have a lot in common, then. What's he like?"
Michelle: "Oh my god, he's such a loser. Last year, he was completely obsessed and head over heels for this senior named 'Liz'. I kept giving him voice messages but I think he just ignored them, cause why bother listening to my stupid words, right?"
Peter stopped typing and checked his phone. He sees that it was MJ he was talking to, not a girl named "Iza". And he did ignore all of her voice messages. He felt terrible, so he took the time to listen to all of them. His heart fuzzes up at her words.
Michelle: "You still there?"
Peter: "Yeah. Just checked something. Tell me more about this Peter guy. He seems like a prick to you."
Michelle: "He's not a bad guy. He just.. He's just very ignorant. And.. I don't know how or why, but I kinda like him?? Idk."
He blushes behind the screen.
Peter: "Like a crush or something?"
Michelle: "Yeah, I guess you could say that. Too bad he never notices me."
If only you knew, he thought.
Michelle: "Whenever I'd walk past him down the hallway, he'll pretend he didn't even see me. But he's such a good guy, he really is. I can't believe Liz didn't realize how lucky she was."
Peter felt bad about MJ. He didn't even realize she felt that way about him, because she always seemed so distant.
The next day, he confronts Michelle and decided to ask her about the whole "being-Iza" thing.
"Hey, Iza." He says at her locker. She freezes up and slowly turns.
"My name is MJ, in case you didn't know. Not that you care anyway."
"I mean, Iza. From Twitter."
"How do you know about that?" She whispers to him.
"I'm Ben." For a second she thinks he's joking, but realize he's serious. She curses at herself.
"Forget about everything I told you and.. please just forget we even had this conversation." She leaves.
When they come back home, he chats her up again.
Peter: "MJ, talk to me please."
She blocks him. He sighed. He stares at his phone until he realizes he could just send a voice message. So he sends one.
"Hey MJ, umm, first of all I'm really sorry for ignoring your voice messages. I was just too caught up on.. stuff. Which is why I'm even amazed you were able to open mine. I just wanted to say that, it's okay to like someone. It's normal and you don't have to be ashamed about it. I don't know why you immediately left earlier, but I hope you're not mad at me. You're secret's safe with me, don't worry. And I've listened to your past voice messages and you're right, I do act like a loser in front of Liz." He chuckles. "And that's all I guess. Please reply back." He sends it.

MJ receives it and it makes her smile.
She doesn't reply, but she does go to Peter's locker the next day.
"Hey." She gives him a smile. He had realized she let her hair down and into a dutch braid half up hairdo, something she doesn't usually do.
"Hi." He found himself blushing.
"Don't worry, I'm not mad at you. It's just.. I've never really had a crush on anyone before. It's not really my thing. And I didn't want anyone I know in real life to know that I liked someone."
"Wait, you never once had a crush? Really?"
"Is that so hard to believe?"
"Well, yeah, I guess." He closed his locker. "So, what do you like about me?"
"Well," She scoffed and bit her lip. "That's such a stupid question."
"Oh come on. I just wanna know." He smiled at her and she couldn't help but smile back.
"Okay fine." She rolled her eyes and grinned. She avoided her gaze from Peter though. "Your personality. And despite your lack of common sense sometimes-"
"-Hey!" He said, and she chuckled.
"I'm kidding. Anyways, despite.. that, you're really smart, and brave, and just overall amazing."
"No I'm not."
"Yeah, you are." She kissed his cheek. "See you around, Ben."
Peter decided to ask MJ out on a date. She got a little excited but kept it lowkey. When she opened her door, Peter looked at her in awe.
"Look... so... you.... pretty...." He struggled to form a sentence.
"Yeah okay, that's one way to put it." She chuckled. He blushed.
"I.. you know what I meant."
"Yeah, I got the message."
"So, shall we?"
***At The Car***
"Where are we going?" She said over the loud music she was playing in Peter's car.
"You'll see."
"Don't tell me it's gonna be one of those cliche-ass restaurants where we go out to dinner. I expected a lot from you, Peter." He laughed at this.
"I promise you, you'll love it."
Later, they arrived at Peter's apartment building.
"...So, are we gonna eat at your place?" She said as she stepped out of the car.
"Nope." He opened the trunk and grabbed a picnic basket. "It's way better."
They took the elevator to go to the rooftop of the apartment building. Once they arrived, hanging lights lit up the whole floor. It was filled with greenery everywhere and was brilliantly designed by an exterior decorator. In the middle was a picnic table. The sides of it had a table with an Amazon Alexa on it.
"Arranged all of this in the last minute." Peter said.
"See? I told you you were amazing."
"You're too sweet." He intertwined his fingers in hers and kissed her hand.
He put the basket on the side of the table.
"After you." He told her.
"Okay, so what are we having?"
"Well, since you're not the type who likes cliche first-date dinners, I packed food that isn't usually prepared for a first date but just a casual date." He set down the table cloth and then set up the plates. He grabbed a box of pizza and opened it, the aroma spreading across the entire rooftop.
"Okay, now I'm starving." She said, grabbing two slices and putting them on her plate.
"So, how am I doing so far? Still a loser?"
"Nah, you're good. You're not being too over the top and you're not trying too hard. I like this Peter Parker." She said as she took a bite of her pizza.
"You like me?" She spanked his shoulder.
"Haven't I already told you that? You don't have to keep repeating it." She blushed.
"I know, it's just.. it feels good to hear that. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
"Stop it." She said, giggling.
"What? No one's here. Nobody can overhear what we want to tell each other. Just scream out what you want to say. Go on!"
"No, I don't want to." She continued eating.
"Oh come onnnn, MJ. What's on your mind?"
"Finishing this pizza. That's what's on my mind."
"Just shout whatever you want to the world! Here, follow me." He ran near the edge of the rooftop. She ran over to him, calling out his name. He spread his arms out wide. "MICHELLE JONES IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE 16 YEARS OF EXISTENCE!"
"Shut up! Shhhh!" She held him by his shoulders, laughing.
"I SAID WHAT I SAID AND I MEANT IT!" He shouted again, making MJ laugh. He smiled at her, holding her by the waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck. "Alexa, play 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran." He said, not looking away from MJ's eyes. Soon enough, its stereo was blasting music and they were swaying from side to side.
"Of all the songs you could've picked, Peter.. It had to be this one."
"What? I wanted to play it for you." He smiled at her and she avoided his gaze, lending her attention to the floor. She couldn't handle the look he was giving her anymore. It made her giddy and butterflies flew in her stomach.
She scoffed. "You really are a loser."
"I'm your loser." He replied as he lifted her chin up and kissed her. They stood there like that as the night and the music swallowed them whole.
