《The Dynasty of Hellsing》The world

How could one be so tainted by fury and sin and yet so full of hope and love? Was it madness? I have feared that someday the constant visits of Death would break my sanity.
I could not sleep that night, my mind was full of twisted dead ends. I looked at the clock and it was 3 a.m., I walked to the window and once I opened it I sat on the parapet. The night was cold but my mind became calmer as I breathed deep and slowly. I closed my eyes and I heard a piano. I could barely hear it but it was beautiful.
Separated by miles and miles but even so Aleister could feel her scent. He played a soothing music on the piano, a music he knew that would appease Iris's heart and mind. His long fingers played undisturbedly and his mind flew to her. He could see her expression, he considered it almost comparable to angels. He imagined her red lips calling his name in a suffocating tone.
He stood up in a abrupt way. He knew he had to make her his. He knew she seeks for her mother in a sick and irrational way. He knew she would come to him.
Lenore entered the room in a opulent way, her black dress revealed much of her body. Her breasts were squeezed in a corset and on her neck she used a black lacy choker with a little silver cross. On her long legs she had garters. Her white wavy hair was tied in a updo and she had a flower crown of black roses.
-Put your eyes on me, dear Aleister! Do I not look like a princess? -she said on a happy tone as she opened her arms.

-You surely do. -he said without even looking at her.
She came to him and grabbed his arm. She squeezed her breasts even more against his arm.
-What does concern you, my dear master?
He didn't answered her so she let go of his arm and sat down in a velvet chair and put her legs on the armrest.
-Does the reason my master worries so much is that damned maggot? I could end all of your worrying ...
As she said it in a careless and spiteful tone he disappeared from her sight. Even before she could turn around to look for him, he appeared behind her and grabbed her throat.
-Do not dare speak in such a way of her. -he whispered in her ear. -You manipulate her so she would come to me but do not fool yourself in thinking you are necessary, Lenore. The last person who tried to harm her ended up drowning on her own blood.
-Aithne was nothing more than a pawn with no kind of intellect. She ended up blinding Iris but it was ME who send Devin to restore her sight. IT WAS ME!
-And that did not end very well, now did it? My pure dove flew right to Hellsing's clutches!
-IF ALUCARD HAD NOT APPEARED SHE WOULD BE HERE, RIGHT NOW! -Lenore was screaming in frustration. - HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND, ALEISTER?! Even the world ... The world is trying to kill her. The world knows she does not belong here ... WHAT DOES HER FILTHY SPIRIT POSSESSES THAT YOU WANT SO MUCH ?!
He threw her against a victorian little table that had a very meticulously made golden vase on it. The table broke and so did her neck. Black blood flowed off her.
-A life. Innocent unsoiled life that I've been protecting since she came to this world. -He walked towards her and crouched near her body. He caressed her hair. -Do you remember your long black hair when you were nothing more than a human? Not even the Gods wanted you. Do not dare speak for the world.

He stood up and sat on another velvet chair that was close to where Lenore was sitting. A butler came in as well as two maids. The butler was a old bold man with a white moustache, he opened a box of cigars and Aleister took one and put it between his lips. The butler lit it. The maids grabbed Lenore and sat her on the chair she was moments ago and started to clean the broken table.
The butler opened a glass bottle filled with a red liquid and served in a crystal wine glass. Aleister smelled it and tasted it.
-Excellent Vincent, just excellent !
He heard a docil voice singing.
"Like snow, the angels will fall
Madness will rise
Drink from Lete
And live again"

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
