Being the light in the darkness. Being the unacknowledged hero of this world. Sir Integra Hellsing had lived most of her life on behalf of humanity.
It was Winter and she was in her chamber in which she dedicated herself to the Organization's duty. It was raining outside and quickly the sun hid. Smoking her Hendi Winzermans cigars and shrouded by the smoke, she called the new buttler.
-CALLUM! -she called.
Rapidly he knocked at the door. He was a man around 30's, very good looking. His long black hair was tied back, his eyes were sharp and grey and his lips were thin as he kept secrets. He was tall and his fair figure was even more complimented by his buttler outfit. The black vest, white shirt, grey pants, white gloves, red tie and a silent calm was his uniform for everyday.
By entering at Integra's presence he bowed, awaiting orders.
-Are the new Mephatus guns ready for use?
-Yes, Sir Integra.
-Equip the offensive team in the morning.
-Yes, Sir Integra.
-I can see you are a man of few word...-he looked at her with a slight embarrassment on his cold face. -Your silence allows Walter's absence take place.
Callum bowed again and apologized.
-I am sorry, Sir Integra. I will try being more loquacious.
With her cigar between her fingers, she made a nimble hand gesture.
-You can go.
Silence filled her ears and miss settled in her heart. Living for others, she always knew she would lose people with time, the sacrifice is endless.
In a quick act of revolt, she punched one of the walls. One of the tiles fell, sharering on the floor and letting a secret come out to the world.
It was a letter and quickly she recongnized her father's writting. "Saint Mary Foster Home. Leeds." suddently she felt confused and dizzy. She picked it up and walked to her chair and as she sit on it, she opened the letter.

"Dear Sister Magdalene.
I am grateful that you could receive this child uppon your care. I do not wish her to suffer as my Integra will. Please give her a nice childhood and a nice home. Please call her Iris Wingates.
Arthur Fairbook Wingates Hellsing "
Shock stopped her, she felt she could not move. Her heart beat frantically.
-ALUCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD! -she yelled on the top of her lungs.
From the darkness a form appeared and it had a incessant evil grinon its face. It bowed to her. She threw the letter on the table so he could see. Stood and lighted up another of her cigars.
-Find her and bring her to me. Find Iris Wingates!
The dark form disappeared in the darkness, leaving Integra alone as she always been.

The Animo Saga
Before history was well-recorded in the world of Ulakam, primordial animal spirits adopted humans, provided protection and developed deep spiritual connections with them. Millennia later, humans now host animal spirits and are split into tribes named for the species they host. Ulakam is slowly being consumed by a decades-long war pitting the main tribes against the smaller tribes and a group of bandits calling themselves "the resistance". Callida Animo was born into this world. Coming from a mixed family of generational soldiers, Callida joined the family business at a young age. In her words, she was practically bred, born, and raised to be a soldier. And she's good at what she does... which inevitably attracts attention that makes her unambitious self extremely uncomfortable. Love, loss, influence and growth. This is her story. Written episodically, this story focuses on relationships and character growth through a series of mini-arcs that connect to make a greater whole. (Honestly, the story would lend itself well to a TV series.) "Episodes" range from 3-7 chapters (at least so far), and average about 4 or 5 chapters. Author's note: I'm always thrilled to receive comments, follows, ratings/reviews, messages.... All forms of feedback are welcome and encouraged. However, I have no interest in begging readers for more engagement to get better visibility. I tried that with my last story and found the game soul-sucking. So! This constitutes my only self-promotion request. If you are reading this story, let me know what you think! I love engaging with my readers. We'll see if growing the readership organically is even possible. Thank you! 😘 Release schedule: Weekly on Wednesday afternoons
