Silence is Suicide.
Chapter Nineteen.
Jeremy's father came back from his break. He had another man with him.
"Well look-y here." the younger man said smiling at me. "Pops, you weren't lying. Jeremy does have another 'little brother'."
Jeremy looked slightly proud. "Yep, this is my buddy, Emerson."
The man rubbed his hand on my head, messing up my hair. "I'm Eddy, Jeremy's younger brother. I'm not sure if Jeremy has said anything about me yet..." He ran his fingers through his messy dark brown hair and rolled his eyes.
Jeremy patted his younger brother on the back. "No worries, broski. We're heading out. Bye Eddy, bye Pops."
Jeremy motioned for me to follow him.
"Welcome to the family, Emerson." I heard Eddy call out.
"Nice to meet you, lad." Pops said as I left with Jeremy.
"So," Jeremy started as we walked in the crisp, winter air. "Now I'm going to meet your family, right?"
I gulped. "No, no, no, no. Please don't make me go back there." I pleaded on the inside.
Every step closer brought more pain to my soul. Finally we reached my house. The house that killed me so many times.
I led Jeremy to the window. It was still how I left it. Nothing changed. I opened it and climbed into my room. I then motioned for Jeremy to do the same.
"Why can't we go through the front door?" Jeremy question me with a hint of confusion.
I put my finger to my lips as to say, "Shush." I left the window wide open and grabbed some paper. "Stay here. Don't make a sound and don't move. I promise, I'll answer your questions at a safer time."
He looked at me like a puppy who didn't understand it's command.

I took a deep breath and walked out my bedroom door.
"YOU!" the she-beast roared. "Where the fuck you been, you little bastard!"
She charged at me. I tried to duck, but she took it as taunting. She hit me. The she-beast's mate joined in the torture.
He observed from the kitchen, "You're a worthless piece of shit." he spat toward me. They both were obviously overly intoxicated.
I thought about Jeremy and his safety. If he gets caught in my room, my parents; my enemies, might seriously hurt him. I needed to get him out of here.
I jumped up trying to defend myself. I punched the she-beast square in the jaw. She roared staggering backwards, rubbing her jaw. I could see the flames flare up in her eyes. I sprinted to my room and blocked the door.
"What the Hell is going on Emerson." Jeremy said in a very serious, low tone, but his eyes made him look worried.
I grabbed my paper and scribbled. "Get. Out. I'm serious. Get Out Now."
"NO! You need to explain this to me."
"JEREMY!" I wrote then underlined my previous words.
He growled. "I'll be back." he said in a low tone then jumped out of the window.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
My door caved in. I can't remember what happened after that.
