Silence is Suicide.
Chapter Five.
I walked down the sidewalk and turned right. I still didn't know where I was going to go. Grandmother's house? No, I couldn't show my face there. Grandfather loathes me. I kept walking. I walked toward my school; people from clubs and such were just getting out. I hoped they wouldn't notice me.
I hesitated, but I couldn't help myself from walking up to the large high school. I opened to doors that lead to the music hallway. I paused for a second; a beautiful, quiet voice carried through the hall. I cautiously and slowly made my way down the never ending hallway.
The last room on the right was wide open. In the white room; a tall, slender, fawn brown haired girl was softly singing and listening to her iPod. It looked like she was packing up a small string instrument.
She turned around toward the door and was startled by me watching her. My eyes grew wide and I slipped around the corner. I hid in the costume room behind a rack of clothes. "Fuck, Emerson!" I scolded myself on the inside, "You can't go around getting caught here. It's suicide."
The girl ran out of the room. I heard her footsteps. They were soft and quick. She was near the room I was hiding in. I held my breath.
"Hello? Who was there? I'm not going to hurt you. Please reveal yourself to me..." she said in a soft voice. 50% of me trusted her word and the other half of me didn't. She looked like a Utopian, for she was too beautiful to be an Uncommon.
I heard her in the costume room. It obviously was the only other unlocked room. "I know you're in here. Why are you so afraid of me? I won't hurt you, I promise."
She leaned against a wall and slid down until she was sitting on the floor. She exhaled. I closed my eyes and exhaled also. Here goes nothing.

Based on true events in my life. Think of these stories as H P Lovecraft meets Rob Zombie. Each story has pieces, confessions, from the rural decay of Appalachia wrapped in horror and madness. All are set in the fictional county of Lear, which is a dark mirror held up to surface, idealized countryside. Blood and familial ties bind deep in a hopeless and rotted south. Tales are whispered of Hill Witches and Demons. Shunned communities molder. All these truths are hidden in the stories of deceit and lies. The Traveling Dungeon
Dale had finally started to get a hold of his existence as a dungeon core. His dungeon was working, the challenges were popular, he had a large swath of texts on magic to work through, and his core was as protected as he could reasonably make it. Everything should have been perfect. Then he reached a tad too far, grabbed ahold of a new skill for the manipulation of Essence and so began his ascension to godhood! Which was a nice way of saying his soul was sucked through space, torn and shredded, and shoved into a conceptual body.ie, he appeared in the Hall of the Gods suddenly. Without clothing. This would have been simply an amusing anecdote if he wasn't then instantly yanked out of the Hall of the Gods by a person who appeared to be cos-playing a cross between a plumber and accountant. Oh, and he had a grip like iron and could freeze the other gods at will. A small detail, but a concerning one.Now Dale is forced to deal with being a God, a Dungeon Core, and act as the lynchpin in a divine universe jailbreak attempt.Oh, and of course, the Gods still have all the drama that you would expect. Naturally.
