After I said my previous statement Zak's face turned pink. I was rather surprised at just how good he looked in my clothes, and specifically in that outfit. He was quite the sight to see.

He murmured a soft and quiet "Thank you.." under his breath. I went over to him and gave him a small kiss while grabbing his hand.

"Come on you muffin, we have to go."

Without stopping to listen to what he had to say I led him out of the room. We stopped to put our shoes on, and we made our way out of the house, and into my car.

"You have a car? You can drive?"

"Yes, and yes. Can you not?"

"Well I uh- my parents never took me to driver's training..."

He looked embarrassed to be saying that. I would be embarrassed too though. Mine didn't take me either, they just gave me the money and had me walk there.

"I'll take you soon, make sure to remind me."

"Wh- Really?"

"Of course."

And with that, I drove off.

The whole shopping trip was pretty uneventful. It consisted of actual shopping, Zak whining about everything, and Zak begging for various junk foods. I'm not one for buying junk food all that often, but unfortunately I caved in and bought him everything he wanted.

I put all the groceries away and had Zak sit in the car while I ran in and 'grabbed a bag I left behind'. I didn't actually leave anything behind, but I wanted to buy him something without him knowing.

While browsing different things, a small, silver box caught my eye. It had two necklaces in it. Two halves of a heart. Perfect.

Today was the day I finally wanted to ask him to be mine. Even though it all felt so fast, I almost needed it to happen. Something about him just drawn me more towards him, and that wasn't something I could deny any longer. Part of me wanted to tell myself I didn't want him so bad, but I knew I did. And maybe, no, hopefully, he wanted me too.

I payed for the necklaces and made my way back outside. I shoved the box in my pocket so he wouldn't see them.

"What took you so long?"

"It took a while to find."

"You didn't even come back with anything?"

"Don't worry about it, Zak."

After I said that he had a bit of a worried expression on his face. I grabbed his hand and began to drive back to my house. Once we got there I told Zak to stay in the car once more while I put all the groceries away.

I knew that if I let him come inside with me he would've convinced me to let him stay home so we could cuddle, and it was really important that we didn't stay.

I put everything away and grabbed a scarf to take outside with me. I sat in myself with the scarf while Zak gave me a confused look.

"Face the window."

"I'm sorry?"

"Turn that way, and face the window."

"I- uh.. Okay.."

As he turned his head I covered his eyes with the scarf and began to tie it. I felt his body shake as I finished tying the scarf. He seemed afraid. I gave him a long, drawn out kiss before putting my seatbelt on and starting the car again.

"Hey.. Uh.. Where are we going...?"

"Sh, you'll see babe. Don't worry." I said as I drove off. The drive wasn't very far, but I knew he'd be able to tell if we walked there.

I parked the car and got out. I went over to the other side and grabbed Zak out of his seat. I went behind him and slowly took the scarf off of his face.

"M-Martha's"

"Mhm."

While looking up at the sign tears formed in his eyes. He immediately latched onto me and silently started to cry.

"It... It all started here. Just a couple weeks ago..."

"Yes it did, baby."

I kneeled down a little bit and grabbed his face. I rubbed my thumb under his eyes and kissed him gently.

"Come on pretty boy." I said while grabbing his hand and walking towards the entrance. This diner was genuinely nothing special to most. It was just an old family restaurant that had semi decent food. Until a couple weeks ago I was just like the others, this place had no significance to me. But now, it meant the world.

We made our way inside and got seated. Luckily the seat we had last time was available, so we took that one.

I ordered the same thing as last time, but this time Zak got a bowl of Mac n Cheese and some french fries.

"Why are we here, Darryl."

"Well actually-"

"Hey what's up fuckers" Said Dave walking up to our table with Vincent. Are you kidding me?

Zak quickly let go of my hand and moved farther away from me.

"Hey guys."

"We saw you two being gay and were wondering if you guys were up for a double date." Said Dave while Vincent stood close behind him. Both Zak and I responded almost immediately.

"Darryl and I aren't dating."

"You and Vincent are dating??"

I honestly didn't know why I was surprised. Those two were together all the time, no matter what.

"Well, suit yourselves losers."

"Yeah, see ya!"

They both spoke as they were walking away. I personally really liked the idea of a double date, but then Zak reminded me of why that isn't a possibility.

"So, what were you going to say before they interrupted us?"

"Oh. Nothing." A newfound feeling of uncertainty washed over me. Maybe he didn't actually want me after all. I'm not one to panic, but I was definitely panicking right now.

I felt my body tense up and shake a little bit. I wanted to cry. What if I took all the signs wrong? What if I've been making him comfortable and he's just been going with it. I felt a tear escape my eye as I stared down at the floor.

"It's okay.... I love you." He said while holding onto me.

It's okay. He loves me.

He loves me.

"I love you too."

I pulled away from him and pulled the box out. He looks slightly confused for a minute as a opened the box up. I pulled out one of the necklaces out and set it on his hand.

"If you really love me will you... Will you be my boyfriend....?"

He grabbed the necklace and set it down before basically tackling me in our seat.

"O-of course I will... I... Of course, Darryl, of course." He said as he shoved his face in my chest. We spent so long sitting there and sobbing we didn't even realize our food had came, but neither of us cared.

This is what I had been waiting for. I had been waiting for him. For this.

"Ha, gay." Dave said while walking out with Vincent. To be fair, he wasn't wrong. This was pretty gay.

I pulled Zak up and told him he had to eat. At first he tried objecting and going back in the position he was in, but eventually he gave up and began to eat.

Not too long after we both finished our food and made our way back home. Once we got home he yelled at me to put my necklace on, and then to help him put his on. He looked really pretty with a necklace on. Hell, he looked really pretty with anything on.

We spent the rest of the night cuddling, watching videos, and occasionally crying. I've never been one to cry, but this boy made me sob. I guess that means he's special.

Well, he is special.

My special little muffin.
