Wei Wuxian was with Lan Wangii after the contest, both were wandering around Jinlintai together.
Maybe caused a few troubles here and there.
"Do you think Wanyin and Yanli are fairing well?" Wei Wuxian couldn't help but ask the older.
"Well for one thing, Yanli would be fine, Wanyin must he bringing prostitutes for Jin Guangshan." Lan Wangji said and Wei Wuxian laughed.
"I would hate my job if I was his servant too. can't blame him" Wei Wuxian shrugged.
"So what do you want to do?" He then asked the taller "We could light up lanterns." Lan Wangji suggested.
"Why not? It's getting dark and well, the night sky might look better with a few lanterns in it." and so the two went to buy plain lanterns and went to a small place that had a good view.
"Lan Zhan! Look what I made!"
Lan Wangji turned and saw that Wei Wuxian had drew two hands together connected with a white forehead ribbon.
"It's beautiful." he complimented before Wei Wuxian giggled "Show me yours!"
Lan Wangji looked embarrassed before showing two stickman figures holding hands.
Wei Wuxian held back his laugh "Hey! Don't laugh!" Though in reality Lan Wangji really enjoyed his laugh.
"Come on now! It's cute! Just like my adorable Hanguang-jun." Wei Wuxian then pinched the older's cheek.
"Not as adorable as my bunny." Lan Wangii stole a kiss from the younger.
"Ah Lan Zhan! Careful! Warn me before doing that!" Wei Wuxian flushed brightly.
"Not when I can see your pretty red face cutie."
'Cutie!? That's new!' Wei Wuxian thought before he looked away.
"A-anyway! We should light our lanterns up! It's already nearly dark!" Wei Wuxian awkwardly stuttered.
It was getting dark, the sky was already purple fading to black.
Lan Wangji admired the view in front of him.
Wei Wuxian was lighting up his own lanterns in front of the already nearly setting sun.
It was beautiful.
If Lan Wangji could draw he would have this painted.
But oh well, he could just enjoy the moment while it lasts.
"Ah Lan Zhan, you should stop staring at me and hurry up and light your lantern."
—————————
"Where have the two of you been?" Lan Xichen asked as soon as he saw his brother and Wei Wuxian enter.
The Jin Sect was having a banquet to celebrate after the hunt.
"We lit up some lanterns Xichen-ge, sorry we took so long, Lan Zhan here keeps on dozing off." Wei Wuxian huffed.
"I was not dozing off! I was admiring my Yingying."
"If you both continue like this, I'm afraid we might have to hurry the wedding." Lan Xichen said amused.
Lan Wangji smiled "Right! I already had Nie Huaisang and you to make the plans."
Wei Wuxian blinked before turning red and smacked the taller playfully "I'm still rebuilding Lotus Pier! We can't be getting married yet around this time!"
"You never said no to advance plans."
"I-whatever I'll find Wen Ning, Qing Jie will kill me if he comes back with even a scratch!"

"Huaisang, Can we talk?"
Nie Huaisang nodded.
"Great follow me." Jin Zixuan said.
Nie Mingjue looked at his brother "What!? I didn't do anything! And if I did then I don't know!" Nie Huaisang exclaimed before rushing towards Jin Zixuan.
The two then went towards the corner where it's too quiet.
"What did you mean by earlier?"
Nie Huaisang looked confused "What earlier?"
"When you said if we checked if the spices were mislabeled." Jin Zixuan said and Nie Huaisang fanned himself before blinking.
"Oh! Because when my mother died, someone poisoned her, no one knew how but there was only one person who would cook her food, and when we got it investigated, one of the spices had
poisoned powder in them."
—————————
The following day when everyone left, Jin Zixuan could not stop thinking about what Nie Huaisang said so he went towards his mother's room.
"Head Healer Jin, can I have a moment?" Jin Zixuan asked as he saw she was checking his mother.
"In a moment Young Master Jin." She said before facing Madam Jin "I belive the tea Sect Leader Wei gave you would surely help you, other than that, refrain from overworking yourself."
Madam Jin nodded and thanked the healer.
"A-Xuan, is there something wrong?" She asked her son "Nothing out of sorts mother, I just need a few answers." Jin Zixuan smiled at his mother.
"May we talk outside?" Jin Zixuan said and the Head Healer nodded.
"Young Master Jin, if this one dares to ask, why are we headed towards the kitchens?" Head Healer Jin was confused.
"I just need to confirm my suspicions, mother started getting sickly all of a sudden and there are onlv a few added additions in the family which are Jin Wanyin, Jin Yanli, Yu Ziyuan and Guangyao." he said.
"And from what I heard from Huaisang, he said someone must have misplaced the spices." Jin Zixuan explained "It would clearly be impossible for Jin Yanli because she's to be with my mother 24/7 and she can't possibly sneak out at night as there is a guard outside my mother's door."
Head Healer Jin nodded at whatever he was saying and mentally took down notes.
"And Yu Ziyuan, it's impossible really, no arms and secluded in her room whenever there's no event, no way she could have done anything really in her most useless state."
"So you brought me to check if your theory is correct and you want me to identify what kind of poison or drug is being used?" Head Healer Jin questioned and Jin Zixuan nodded.
They had entered the kitchens.
"Which one of you are the ones incharge of watching Jin Yanli cook?"
A chef stepped forward and kowtowed "It would be me Young Master." he said.
"Please show me all the spices that are being used by her, I need to clarify something." the Chef nodded and showed them towards the area where Jin Yanli cooks and took out all the spices that

were used.
"None of these spices look out of sorts, mother has been sick for 3 months, last month it went too severe that she almost could have died if Lady Wen Qing wasn't here to visit." Jin Zixuan will never forget that day where his mother nearly died.
She did get better but it was still scaring him.
It was lucky that her golden core was strong enough to hold her to dear life.
"Usually poisons that are powdered are white, we could check the salt and sugar."
Head Healer Jin said and took out the Jar of sugar before smelling it "This looks fine."
She then took out the salt Jar "This...there are some powdered in here." She smelled it "I will need to check this one."
Jin Zixuan raised a brow "What is it?"
"Usually salt would small like the ocean and are a bit thicker but this one has a bit of powder and the smell is same but some poisons are odorless, some are tasteless too to avoid suspicions to the
victim." Head Healer Jin said.
"I would need to investigate this for a while, tell no one and change the salt here." Head Healer Jin said and the chef nodded.
—————————
Jin Zixuan wants to share this information with Jin Guangyao but then his guts started feeling funny and uncomfortable at the thought of it.
Maybe he should keep it to himself.
"Zixuan."
"Ah, Guangyao, what are you doing here at this time of day?" It was nearly evening and Jin Zixuan was out here to clear his mind.
"I was merely walking around, what's wrong brother you seem a bit unwell."
Jin Zixuan would have taken that as Jin Guangyao seeming concerned about him in any other day but apparently this time after being worried and trying to keep the information of that salt.
Salt was commonly used when cooking, it would be no surprise if his mother had been consuming it daily.
This time, he could hint the false concern in his voice.
"Nothing, Just tired and worried about my mother, she's always been healthy." He said and if he looked closely he could see his half brother's eye twitch.
"Ah, don't worry, She'll surely make it." Jin Guangyao smiled.
'Make it? Make it where? Death or recovery?' Was all Jin Zixuan could think of before Nodding.
A few days later he was called by Head Healer Jin.
"Is there a reason she's calling me at this time?" Jin Zixuan asked as he was doing some of his mother's paperwork.
"She told me that it's about some sort of salt." the servant looked confused in why the Head Healer was interested in salt.
Jin Zixuan seemed to realize but not to raise suspicions he nodded "Please tell her that I will be there shortly." the servant nodded and left.
A few minutes later he got up and made his way towards the infirmary.
"Is anyone else in here?" Jin Zixuan questioned as he entered the infirmary.
Head Healer Jin shook her head.
"Good." he closed the door and placed a silencing Talisman on it before heading towards the Head Healer.
"So what did you find?" Jin Zixuan questioned.
"I separated the salt with the powder and I examined it. It was both odorless and tasteless, I did some research on what it could be and I had come towards a single guess...Thallium."
Jin Zixuan was curious "Thallium?"
"Thallium can affect your nervous system, lung, heart, liver, and kidney if large amounts are eaten or drunk for short periods of time. Temporary hair loss, vomiting, and diarrhea can also occur and death may result after exposure to large amounts of thallium for short periods."
Jin Zixuan was horrified.
"Your mother was given it in small amounts, on an average person if given a bit more it could kill them within a week and a half. but she ate it with just bits of thallium which could take movement in two months and nearly killed her, however your mother had a strong core and Lady Wen was here so we were able to subdue it."
Jin Zixuan has no words after hearing that.
"Keep the evidence somewhere safe, I trust you would do something with my mother's meals." Jin Zixuan said trying to steady himself from the new information.
"Understood." Head Healer Jin said.
And so Jin Zixuan left the room looking pale, he walked around letting his feet take him wherever but that made him bump into Jin Guangyao.
"Zixuan, you look pale, do you want to have tea with me?'
Jin Zixuan politely declined "Maybe next time, I had a pretty bad stomach ache earlier that I needed fresh air, I'll be heading to bed for a nap."
Jin Guangyao nodded and let the other make his way.
He didn't believe whatever Jin Zixuan said as the other looked fine, but whatever, he had Jin Zixun to deal with for now.
As soon as Jin Zixuan entered his room he slapped a silencing Talisman and quickly tried to calm himself and balance his breathing.
His mother could have died with that poison.
Scratch that HIS MOTHER NEARLY DIED.
Thank the Heavens above that they let his mother live longer.
He doesn't know what to do.
He needs to tell someone about this.
Lan Wangji.
Ofcourse!
—————————
He quickly made a butterfly message
"Lan Wangji." he then started to explain everything he just found out.
"Please help me, I don't know what l can do right now." was his last sentence before sending the butterfly towards the direction of Gusu.
—————————
Lan Wangji received a secret butterfly message from Jin Zixuan shortly after that.
"Huh, the smurf couldn't wait to make his move huh? In the original timeline he was smart and quick but I guess traveling back in time seemed to have placed water in his brain." Lan Wangji scoffed.
He then sipped his tea before smirking.
"It's funny how I managed to change the whole timeline just by being shameless."

There were three objects in it, named meaningless crown, black star and incomplete cross. When three signs appear the beast will awaken. Has the meaning been cracked? There are many hypothesis, but nothing concrete. The first object could have relation to king of some sorts, but in this vast universe there are many worlds, counties and kings. Who can really guess its meaning? It can also be metaphorical. What about black star? They say the second clue leads to eclipse, but this also says nothing. Third one? Cross is the symbol of divinity. The cracked cross might mean a lot of things, like person who wants to go against progenitor's ideas and laws and forcefully achieve divinity...It could also mean destruction of divinity, but something like that should be impossible... You're overthinking things. How could gods stay idle if someone is threatening their reign? Also, even if somebody is forcefully awakening, the gods will be alerted by commotion and won't let it succeed... Say, do you think that awakening beast is the one who will try to become one of us? Most likely. No, it's hard to say. The prophecy can't be that simple. The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
