"Master Lan!" Nie Huaisang squeaked "I don't know! I don't know! I don't really know!" the Nie heir cried and wailed while clutching his fan.

Lan Qiren sighed heavily, it was no use asking the Nie Heir.

"Uncle, I heard someone crying, did something-Jin Gongzi! Quick take him to the infirmary! Chen Bolin, please get my brother and Wei-gongzi, they should be done fixing the barrier by now!" He motioned to the disciple beside him and some Jin disciples had quickly brought their heir to the healers.

"As for the rest, Tell us what had happened!" Lan Qiren had said strictly.

"They were asking for it! I just gave them what they deserved!" Jiang Wanyin spat at Lan Qiren "Besides it's Wei Wuxian's fault!" When he said this, it confused Lan Qiren.

"How could it be his fault!? Are you pining the blame on someone else? You were still asleep by the time they were told to fix the barrier before the two went to do other things!" Lan Qiren snapped "He wouldn't have time to come here!"

"Still! Everything is his fault! He wasn't here to stop me! So it's his fault!" Jiang Wanyin yelled out.

A Jin girl disciple then yelled at him "Why are you blaming the bodyguard you treat as a servant and use as a punching bag!?"

"YOU DARE SAY SUCH FALSE LIES!?" Jiang Wanyin went and slapped the Jin girl.

"HAH! So the Jiang Heir hasn't heard of the rumors!?"

"What rumors you slutty bitch!"

He then realized what he said and the girl clenched her fist "If I am a slutty bitch then you're the worst Jiang heir and a cursed to-be Sect Leader!" The girl screamed and ran away.

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" they heard Lan Qiren rage out "Both your parents will be coming here to discuss what you alone did, and I will make myself clear in those letters Jiang Wanyin, I thought you were taught better than this!"

Lan Qiren then turned to the disciple "Make sure he stays kneeling until the sect leaders or Madams arrive, they will pick out the Punishment." he motioned his trusted disciple who nodded and the said disciple left to send the letters in correct detail.

"What punishment?" A voice said and Jiang Wanyin's anger grew again.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had just arrived.

"Wei-gongzi, Jiang Wanyin had punched the Jin Heir twice which had knocked Jin-gongzi unconscious." Lan Xichen had said and Wei Wuxian looked horrified as he rushed to Jiang Wanyin and shook him.

"Jiang Cheng! If Jin Zixuan called Shijie something bad, punching him one time is ENOUGH! You don't have to punch them twice! We're going to be in so much trouble!"

Jiang Wanyin pushed him away "Shut up you idiot! If anyone's getting in trouble it would be you! Son of a servant! Quite useless if I may ask!"

Wei Wuxian's eyes widened in shock when he heard that.

His brother never called him a son of a servant.

Not even once.

Lan Wangji felt like punching the Jiang heir but he does not want to take the discipline whip or discipline paddles?

Getting scarred by the discipline whip for Wei Ying would be worth it but for Wanyin? BAH! He'd rather get beheaded!

His restraint is being tested but he had years of control.

"How is it my fault when you were the one who punched him with your own hands!?"

Now that sentence had caught almost everyone off-guard especially Jiang Wanyin.

Never in his life...Never AND NEVER HAD WEI WUXIAN TALKED BACK LIKE THAT.

Lan Wangji looked proud, guess his hard work finally paid off...maybe half of it because his bunny is dense as sh-

Wei Wuxian glared at him "You do know shijie likes Jin Zixuan! What is she going to do when she learns that you had punched him twice!? This will leave a broken engagement!" He yelled at him.

Jiang Wanyin froze at that 'A-Jie...no.'

"I won't let that peacock break the engagement!" He announced but Lan Qiren cut him off before he could continue.

"That would be the decision for the parents and the Fiance's themselves, you are in no room to decide after the stunt you pulled!"

Lan Oiren then turned to his two senior disciples "Seclude him in the Hanshi until the Jin and Jiang's come over in a few hours. Wangji, Wei Wuxian, kindly check on Jin-gongzi. Xichen, please wait in front of the gates for our guests."

"YOU CAN'T SECLUDE ME!"

The three Jiangs were in a tense atmosphere on the throne room.

Just a few days ago more and more rumors were being heard all around and the elders were pushing the Sect Leader to divorce his wife as she was the reason the sect was being shamed but he ignored them saying she was doing her best.

And then Yu Ziyuan was blaming Jiang Fengmian for taking the boy in and showing him how their Sect has been in ruins because of him.

Jiang Yanli was angry but never voiced out her frustrations in how the people were comparing her to other sick kids, it didn't help that her mother had also heard about it.

"A-LI WHAT IS THIS I HEAR ABOUT OTHER KIDS WHO GREW UP SICKLY AND HAD AT LEAST FORMED A CORE!?" Her mother voiced it out one day and threw her a wooden sword.

"Mother I don't-"

"ARE YOU LAZY?! HAVE YOU SEEN THE OTHERS? GO TRAIN! I EXPECT TO SEE AN IMPROVEMENT WITH YOUR CORE!"

And so she had to train, she never liked it, she prefers the silence and peace. Why would her mother make her do things she doesn't want to do? She was angry at whoever started this rumor that she accidentally tripped on her sword.

"YANLI WHAT ARE YOU DOING? FOCUS! STAND PROPERLY! WHAT KIND OF ROBES ARE YOU WEARING!? GO WEAR YOUR TRAINING ROBES!"

Jiang Yanli hated those robes, she preferred her dresses!

She doesn't want to weird a sword! As long as she is gentle and kind and never provokes first everything would be fine! Why deal things with violence? Isnt that what disciples are for? Leave the higher ups to relax while the other's do the protecting!

"ARE YOU IGNORING YOUR MOTHER!? GO CHANGE THIS INSTANT! AND TRIPLE YOUR PRACTICE! YINZHU! WATCH HER CLOSELY! ANY MISTAKE IS 1 HOUR OR KNEELING IN THE ANCESTRAL HALL!"

To say that Jiang Yanli had more than 10 mistakes that day made her mother very angry "No more kneeling! You are not allowed to have breaks tomorrow for the whole day! I want a breakthrough with your cultivation by the end of the month!"

Jiang Yanli clenched her dress after her mother left "Why should I train?" She asked herself "I'm not even the heir! From what I'm seeing, the Madam of the sects are free to do what they want!" She muttered out because she never saw her mother do paperwork, she only goes and comes whenever she wants.

"A-Cheng and A-Xian are enough! They'll protect me anyway!" She slammed the table.

And it went on for 2 months and she got disappointing looks from not only her mother but her father as well. Her A-Xian was the one who trained the disciples who had weak bodies, they were able to do it, but how come she wasn't able to?

It doesn't matter, she doesn't need one anyway, she'll be married off to the most Handsome man she had ever layed her eyes on.

He'll be giving her personal guards or he'll be protecting her himself.

Why should she or even her parents worry over nothing?

But as the rumors grew even more, more than Wei Wuxian being the illegitimate child. These rumors were about how the Jiangs treat the so called 'adoptive son' and how she was useless.

As soon as people heard about her training, they were waiting for the improvement but since none came people started saying that she must be lazy, she has no future, and that she wouldn't be able to be a great Sect Madam, how she is the only daughter in the whole great 5 sects but useless.

Her answer was shown to her, her parents are trying to gain face while Madam Yu is pining the blame to anyone she sees or loathes.

Jiang Fengmian stays quiet.

Jiang Yanli just wants to find the person who started the rumors and talk to them into apologizing and change the rumors because it wasn't a nice thing to do.

But now there was an emergency letter that Jiang Fengmian has from the Lan Clan as the three were finished eating their lunch.

"Did that brat do something!? What trouble has he done now!?" Madam Yu has yelled out loud and Jiang Yanli sighed 'A-Xian, when will you learn?'

Meanwhile, Jiang Fengmian was in a crisis 'A-Xian! I trusted you to keep A-Cheng in line!' He thought loudly before he read the ending of the letter which had said that Wei Wuxian was assigned a task by the sect Leader and wasn't in the scene.

"FENGMIAN! WHAT DID THE BRAT DO!"

Jiang Fengmian gripped the paper tightly "It was your son!" He snapped at the woman.

"My son? He's OUR SON! MY SON HAS DONE NOTHING! IT'S PROBABLY THE SON OF A WHORE'S FAULT! GIVE ME THAT!"

She snatched the paper before tearing it apart.

"YANLI COME! YOUR BROTHER HAD KNOCKED YOUR FIANCE UNCONSCIOUS! THAT BRAT SURELY HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT! FENGMIAN YOU ARE COMING! YINZHU! JINZHU! LOOK AGTER THE FUCKING PLACE!"

With that they all flew on their own swords...by that Jiang Yanli had to share her mother's sword to travel.

She could tell that her mother was pissed that she had to carry her daughter which was only proving the point that Jiang Yanli doesn't have any progress in building her core.

Wei Wuxian had entered the infirmary with Lan Wangji to see Jin Zixuan awake and a bandage was placed on his nose.

Jin Zixuan was going to greet them but Wei Wuxian beat him to it "No no no! It's fine, I-I mean We- just came here to see you!" He awkwardly said.

"I apologize to what my brother has said or done to you on his behalf."

'Wei Ying! Why are you apologizing for other's mistakes!?'

Jin Zixuan shook his head "Wei-gongzi, there is no need to apologize for something you didn't do, I merely said I was not happy with the engagement as I had no say in it and I have no feelings towards Lady Jiang."

Wei Wuxian nodded but Jin Zixuan continued "However, I would like to apologize for the insult I had given Lady Jiang for I was too caught up in the rumors about her not knowing how to act

like a proper sect Madam."

Wei Wuxian had to think about that, to be completely honest he has been already seeing the reality of the world he has been living in, he has long or maybe not that long ago had accepted it and their flaws.

And His shijie was one of them.

"I will accept your apologies but however you aren't wrong." Wei Wuxian sighed which made Jin Zixuan and Lan Wangji shocked.

Lan Wangji was shocked because last timeline his beloved would not shut up and would be overly protective and caring if the person would be Jiang Yanli.

Jin Zixuan had been shocked because he heard that the Twin Prides doted on Lady Jiang.

"I am not unaware of the rumors, I will confirm...that most are true." he sighed "So what are you going to do now?" Jin Zixuan asked, surprisingly this conversation has been going good for someone as unsolvable as himself but he can't ignore the icy glare the second Jade would send

him but then turn into a cute puppy when Wei Wuxian would spare him a glance.

It was already known to everyone but the said person that Lan Wangji is deeply in love with the son of Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze.

"I will defect from the sect, I will go on and become rogue, Lan Zhan and Nie-xiong had opened doors to their sects if I needed a place to stay." Wei Wuxian smiled at Lan Wangji.

"The Jin sects doors will also be open, we aren't close but...errr..."

Wei Wuxian laughed at him "Jin-gongzi it is fine, we could be friends." he smiled before his face turned serious "I am sure you have been told that your parents and Madam Yu and Sect Leader Jiang will be coming?"

Jin Zixuan nodded "Fear not, my mother would believe anything I say and would choose me over her sworn sister if she sees me injured."

Lan Wangji nodded "See that you do."

It was a threat that sounded like: 'She better not side with a woman who hurt and abused my beloved or else you will meet my sword'

Jin Zixuan gulped and nodded at what he said.

"Young Masters! Master Qiren is asking for your presence in the Hanshi." the disciple, Chen Bolin, had announced.

"Please lead us there."
