Edward makes his way to back to headquarters as he was summoned. Upon his arrival, he only sees Rengoku.

Edward: Hello again, Rengoku.

Rengoku: Hello again to you too, Edward. I do hope we didn't cause to much trouble the other day?

Edward waves it off, "No worries, you did nothing wrong. Um, may I ask if I'm supposed to be meeting here with only you?"

Rengoku nods, "Yes, I was left to inform you that you and I will be having a mission together."

Edward: 12 Kizuki or no?

Rengoku: Possibly, but no matter for it is our job to act.

Edward: Alright then. But if you get hurt, I'm going to give you the hardest gut punch of your live.

Rengoku laughs nervously, "Ha, no doubt about it."

Edward ponders for a moment, "Well, when exactly is this mission?"

Rengoku: It will be in the coming month. We would go now but I have another mission of most importance. Plus, Master thought it would be best for you to be in recovery from your last mission.

Edward gets confused by this, "But why? I wasn't injured in anyway."

Rengoku shrugs, "That is a mystery to me aswell."

Edward: Hmm, well anyway, do you happen to know where Shinobu is?

Rengoku: I believe she should be at her estate.

Edward nods and gets ready to leave, "Alright well, I'll be off. Good luck with your mission."

Rengoku nods and leaves with Edward doing the same. Edward makes his way to the Butterfly Estate. Upon arrival, he announces his presence again.

Edward: Somebody call a Hashira?

When no one answered, Edward became curious.

Edward: Hello? Is anyone here?

No one answered again, so Edward decided to investigate. He started wandering through the place.

As he was searching, he heard a scream and immediately knew it was Zenitsu. Thinking a demon was here, Edward rushed to where the screaming was from and had his hand on his sword.

Edward: What's going on!? Is everyone....o..k?

He sees Zenitsu cowering away from Aoi, who is trying to give him medicine. What confused Edward the most was that Zenitsu had baby limbs.

Aoi turns to Edward and greets him.

Aoi: Hello Edward, sorry I wasn't able to greet you but this one is having trouble taking his medicine.

She points to Zenitsu who is shaking in fear.

Edward sweat drops, "Heh, yeah, I've learned he can be like that."

Aoi finally gets Zenitsu to take his medicine. She goes over to Tanjiro and gives him his medicine.

Aoi: Here Tanjiro, this medicine is for you.

Tanjiro: Thank you very much.

He takes his medicine without complaint.

Zenitsu: Hey! His medicine went down much easier than mine! I call favouritism! Favouritism!

Tanjiro: Zenitsu, quiet down, this is a hospital ward.

Edward takes notice of another person entering the room.

???: You all seem lively.

Tanjiro turns to the voice, "Murata!"

Edward: Who?

Murata: Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce myself, my name's Murata. You?

Edward: I'm Edward, the God Hashira.

Murata backs up in surprise before bowing quickly, "I'm so sorry for not recognizing you."

Edward: It's quite alright, not many people seem to recognize me nowadays anyway.

Zenitsu turns to Tanjiro, "Who is he?"

Tanjiro: Murata is one of the Demon Slayers who fought on Mount Natagumo.

Edward turns back to Murata, "Oh, well why don't you stay. I have to find Shinobu anyway."

As if on cue, Shinobu enters the room. Her presence alone seems to terrify Murata as he quickly makes his way out of the room.

Shinobu: Oh my, did I scare him off.

Edward: Probably. You are creepy Shinobu.

Shinobu decides to ignore Edward's comment and turns towards Tanjiro and Zenitsu.

Shinobu: You two, how are you feeling?

Tanjiro: I think we're doing a lot better now.

Shinobu: Well then, why don't we start your rehabilitation training.

Tanjiro questionably asks, "Our rehabilitation training?"

Edward: Oh no...

Shinobu: Yes.

Edward gives a look to Tanjiro that says, "May you rest in peace".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 Weeks Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Edward makes his way into the hospital ward and finds only Zenitsu, the others are probably doing rehab training.

Edward: Hey Zenitsu, seems your doing better.

Zenitsu: Hi, Edward. Yeah, I'm doing fine.

Edward: That's good. Demon spider bites can't be good for you.

Zenitsu hold up his child-like and small arms, "You think so."

Edward chuckles, "So, I'm gonna guess and say that Tanjiro and Inosuke are training right now?"

Zenitsu: Yeah, they'll be back soon.

Edward and Zenitsu talk for a little longer. Tanjiro and Inosuke walk there ways into the room looking like Zombies.

Edward: Hey, you guys alright?

They ignore him and head straight to their beds.

Tanjiro: sorry

Inosuke: don't mind us.

Edward: Welp. Have fun. You start training tomorrow, Zenitsu.

Zenitsu: What!? But I'm not ready!

Edward makes his way to the door, "Not my problem. See you all tomorrow.

The next day, Zenitsu, Tanjiro and Inosuke sit in front of Aoi, Edward and Kanao.

Aoi: Alright Zenitsu, since you are joining us starting today, I will explain the training regiment again.

She explain that they will start with being stretched, then move to special reflex training, and finally end with a modified game of tag.

Zenitsu: Can I say something.

Aoi: Was something unclear?

Zenitsu: No, it's not that.

He addresses both Tanjiro and Inosuke, "You two follow me."

Inosuke: Don't feel like it.

Zenitsu starts yelling, "I'm not gonna ask twice! Come with me!"

He then drags the two outside, leaving everyone else confused.

Aoi: What in the world?

Sumi: What do you think he wanted to talk about.

Edward: Probably something perverted, knowing Zenitsu.

When the three come back inside, Zenitsu is all giddy and happy to train. He even enjoys the stretching that is put on his body. Everyone else is confused as to how he could be enjoying this.

Zenitsu then beat Aoi in the reflex training and in the speed training/tag.

This fires up Inosuke as he goes through everything again, but this time he gets through without losing.

Inosuke gets so fired up that he tries to beat Edward in the reflex and speed challenge. He fails horribly.

Edward is incredibly fast and quick witted that he was unbeatable. So instead, they tried to beat Kanao. They couldn't beat her either.

This went on for a few days until Zenitsu and Inosuke decided to stop showing up. Tanjiro is the only one who is still showing up. And after being given the idea to keep up Total Concentration Breathing 24/7, he starts training in that too with the help of Sumi, Kiyo and Naho.

Tanjiro would train until his ears would almost burst. Morning, noon and night were all training with Total Concentration.

Everyday, Tanjiro would re-run Urokodaki's drills with little help from Edward. Sometimes Tanjiro would ask for a light spar with Edward but would always lose.

This would go on for 15 days and during so, Tanjiro even had a fairly heartfelt conversation with Shinobu. Though after the conversation, Edward has to help cheer up Shinobu because she became rather down.

Tanjiro soon started being able to keep up with Kanao, this impressed Edward a bit.

Due to Tanjiro's hard work, Inosuke and Zenitsu started training again as well with help from Shinobu and Tanjiro. Edward laughed at the way Shinobu got Inosuke and Zenitsu to continue training.

At the moment, Edward was with Tanjiro and Inosuke while they were waiting for their katanas to arrive.

Haganezuka, upon arrival, tried to stab Tanjiro for breaking his sword.

Tanjiro: H-Haganezuka?

Haganezuka: How dare you snap my precious sword in two. You've got a lot of nerve boy!

Tanjiro: I'm sorry, but I was going to die! My opponent was really strong.

Haganezuka: Excuses, excuses, excuses. If you hadn't been so pathetically weak, it wouldn't have broke like that. There's no way my katana would have ever been broken.

He pulls up his knife, "I'm going to kill you!"

He starts chasing Tanjiro but Edward stops him.

Inosuke is next to get his katanas. All seems well until Inosuke takes a rock and starts bashing in the jagged pattern into his katanas.

This angers his weapon forger considerably as he also tries to kill his client.

Edward was laughing super hard by the time the weapon makers left.

By then end of recovery, Tanjiro is finally able to beat Kanao. Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are also able to break the final special gourd that requires great breathing strength.

Currently, Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu are asleep. They are woken up by Tanjiro's message crow telling them that they will be joining Edward and Rengoku on their mission.

Tanjiro decides to say his goodbyes. He heads outside and finds Aoi doing laundry with Edward.

Tanjiro: Aoi, I have news.

Aoi turns her attention to Tanjiro.

Aoi: Well, what is it.

Tanjiro: Inosuke, Zenitsu and I will be joining Edward on his mission today.

Aoi: Oh, your heading out now. Even if it was a short time, I'm glad we got to spend it together.

Tanjiro: Thanks again. If I get hurt, I hope you'll look after me again.

Tanjiro leaves to find Kanao. Edward turns to Aoi.

Edward: Don't worry. We'll be alright.

Aoi: I know, but how do I act if you don't make it back?

Edward: Really? You know that I'll never die! The only thing that could kill me is old age!

Aoi: Yeah, I know. Just... just promise to be safe.

Edward give a smile and a thumbs up.

Edward: Don't worry, I promise.

He starts to get going.

Edward: I'll be seeing you again soon, ok.

Aoi waves to him as he leaves, "Just remember what I said, ok?!"

Edward waves back, "Yup!"

And with that, Edward, Rengoku, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko head off to their next mission on the "Mugen Train"
