《Everything I Broke》That Means my Plan Worked!

I had just finished my homework, and I had nothing to do. Well, nothing other than worrying about seeing Lucy after the dance lesson. How could I look her in the eyes after making out with her and then lying about not liking it? Because hell, I liked it way more than I should.

So I tried to read a book, but I couldn't focus at all. And the fact that I had just got to the part when the love interest kissed the protagonist didn't help. I couldn't deal with anything romantic at the time, or anything really.

Just in time, mum told me to get ready for the lesson, so I put on some clothes, and she drove me to class. While I was in the car, Annika texted me that she couldn't come. I knew dance class without her would be weird, especially under these circumstances, but I just responded with an "ok". So when we arrived, I grabbed Kosmar to get him to help me.

"Hello to you too. I am good, thanks for asking. How about you, how are you holding up?"

"I should probably mention that greetings and small talk aren't my priority at the moment. Your idea of me supposedly keeping company to Lucy was awful. So you need to help me."

He seemed concerned. "Lucy didn't mention anything. What happened?"

"We got drunk and made out."

"Seriously?" He laughed. "That means my plan worked! Why do you say it was an awful idea?"

"What?"

"I don't know if it's obvious enough, but I have been trying to set you two up since we became friends." After a day or so in La Mercy, Kosmar had decided that we were friends and gave a bracelet that would help me survive, according to him at least. I wanted to call it a friendship bracelet, but I ended up liking it. "I mean, Lucy liked you since the day she met you." He remained silent for a moment before realising what he had said. "I should not have said that."

I had a hard time believing him. "Are you serious? Our first encounter was her staring at me like a creep, and the second was her pushing me into the school pool."

"I know. The last time she liked someone, she wanted to scare him, but it went a bit too far, and he fell off a small cliff. Poor guy spent at least a month in the hospital. I think you should consider yourself lucky."

"Come again,"

"The last time she liked someone, she wanted to scare him, but he fell off a small cliff."

"I heard you, just- Oh my God. What should I do?"

"Ask her out."

"Ask her out?" I repeated and then laughed. "Yeah, that's not going to happen."

"If you don't ask her out yourself, I will do it for you." he threatened. "I wasn't planning on overstepping your boundaries like that, but you need to help Lucy. Please?" He begged me and I froze for a moment. There was no way I could ask out Lucy, but what else could I do?

"Fine." And we went back to our lesson, that had started a few minutes before that.

"Kosmar, Naira, you decided to join us!" the teacher exclaimed.

"We can go back outside if you want," I told him in all seriousness as Kosmar tried to apologise.

"Get in line with everyone else," he said, and we did so. The lesson went by slower than usual, probably because the usual was Annika and I making fun of the teacher. And I had to tell Lucy I liked her. I couldn't even focus on doing the simplest exercises and ended up with the teacher making a lecture about how I should be more like my uncle, who was an excellent dancer, according to him.

"It's almost as if you are not related at all!"

"We are not related, my grandparents adopted him," I responded. He just sighed.

"Okay, class, you are free to go. Naira, I expect better from you next time. You have a lot of potential, but you are so unfocused."

I didn't respond to that, I just put on my shoes and Kosmar followed me. "Ready?" he asked with a big smile on his face.

"No. Why would you ask that?"

"Come on, it's going to be alright. You like her, she likes you, what can go wrong?"

"I am glad you asked, while we were doing warm-ups I made a list with twenty-five points-" He cut me off and told me to shut up. We walked towards the bus stop without talking, but I could sense he was more excited than me. He was hopping like a bunny, and, to be honest, it was kind of cute. Not that I would tell him that.

"Can you stop acting like a fangirl in a Harry Styles concert?"

"If I was in a Harry Styles's concert, I would act worse." I was silently judging him, something I tended to do more often than I care to admit. "Here you go," he said as soon as we saw Lucy.

"Hi." She looked at me with her usual I-don't-care-about-you expression, and I just questioned Kosmar's ability to tell who likes who.

"You want something?"

"I literally just said hi," I complained. I was so done.

"I don't care, don't talk to me." I looked at Kosmar, begging him to tell me what to do.

"Lucy, can you please listen to Naira?"

"She has ten seconds," Lucy responded, without looking at me.

"I um, made a mistake, and wanted to apologise and clear things up-"

"Time's over."

"That wasn't even five seconds!" Kosmar argued, but I just stared at the pavement disheartened.

"Leave it, I don't think Lucy wants to listen to me. I should head home anyway."

"No," he yelled, attracting unwanted attention. "I am tired of this shit." That was the first time I heard Kosmar swearing. "You two idiots like each other, yet you keep acting as if fighting is a way of flirting. Yes, Lucy, Naira likes you, so don't look at me with that stupid face."

There were seven other people at the bus stop, and they were all looking at us.

To this day, Lucy blushing and then hugging me was the best happy ever after I could get.
