《Everything I Broke》We Can Practice Slitting Throats!

"So, Naira. According to your mother, you started dance lessons last month, is that correct?" Chipo asked me.

"Yes."

"And out of eight lessons, you only finished one of them?"

I was prepared for a bunch of useless questions, but that was too much even for me. I sighed. "Yes."

"Do you want to tell me why you skipped all of those lessons?"

"It's Annika's fault." I will admit I have a problem with taking the blame. She looked at me and paused for a bit.

"Annika is a friend of yours, right? I am pretty sure you haven't mentioned her again."

"She is my girlfriend." I couldn't read her face, and that made me feel unsure. I could read almost everyone.

"Aren't you a bit too young to have a girlfriend? I mean, you can't know what you want."

"I know what I want." There was no way I would let her tell me that. To my surprise, she left the subject. I should have gotten used to it by then, but most adults, including my mother, were (and still are) so judgemental. Fucking bastards.

"Okay, okay. I am going to tell Lucy to come in now. Please be as friendly as possible. And no fistfights." I had nearly forgotten that I had a session with Lucy.

"I don't have the energy for that either way." Lucy came in, and I suddenly felt so tired that I wanted to puke. Or maybe I wanted to puke because of Lucy. I don't know. "Hi." I murmured.

"Come on, you can do better than that." Chipo told me.

"No, I can't actually." I responded and noticed Lucy's sarcastic expression. I was so close to punching her, I swear. Instead, I fell asleep on the floor for a few minutes before Chipo woke me up.

"I got it, you can go home. But you won't get out of next week's session no matter what."

"Whatever." I was exhausted, so as soon as I arrived at home, I lied in my bed and stared at the ceiling. I was thankful mum wasn't there, and I could just enjoy the silence. I fell asleep but didn't manage to actually rest because someone called me.

I declined the call, but my phone started ringing again.

And then again.

Of course, it was Annika. I haven't met someone more stubborn. "Call me one more time, and I will fucking murder you." And I ended the call. Needless to say, my phone rang again a couple seconds later. "What the fuck do you want?"

"Do you always swear that much?" I heard her sarcastic voice.

"You taught me how to swear, idiot."

"It doesn't matter. Anyway, I am outside of your house, so get your ass here." She demanded. I refused to come down at least twenty times, while her demands turned into begging.

"Fine." I finally gave in. "But you will pay for this." I threatened and slowly got up. God, I was so tired.

"I love it when you act all grumpy!" she said enthusiastically, and I rolled my eyes. She was acting like a huge ass baby sometimes. And like an assassin some other times.

"I don't act grumpy, I am actually mad at you." I murmured. I put on my shoes again, brushed my hair fast, and went to open the door. She'd better have something damn good to show me.

"Hi!"

"Why the fuck are you like that?"

She just giggled like a kid and took something out of her pocket.

"And why the fuck are you carrying a knife with you?"

"Because it's a gift from my mother."

"That's not- Did your father approve of this?"

"He doesn't know, silly. Now come on, we can practice slitting throats!" I felt like I woke up that very moment, and I saw her mimicking that fruit ninja.

"Whose throat?"

She shrugged her shoulders while Irene came to my mind. "Anyone's. Now come on!" She persuaded me so I followed her until we arrived at a park near her house. "It has many trees here, so we can practice slicing them."

"That's mean." I said as soon as I realised what she was suggesting. "The trees didn't do anything to you. They have feelings too, and you hurt them."

"Are you being serious right now?"

"Yes."

"Fine."

"Fine what?"

"Fine, we won't cut trees because they didn't do anything to us. But I only say that because I am a good girlfriend and I try to respect your wishes. But don't you ever think that I will give a shit about you once we break up."

"We won't break up. I mean, why would we?"

"We will sometime. We are young, we might fall in love. I don't mind if you do, but if I fall in love, will you catch me? I don't like that falling in love shit."

"If I let you break your head instead, then you won't be so mean, so I will think about it." I answered.

"Fair enough." she agreed. "Now, what can we use to practice?"

"Well, do you know Irene?"

"I have the perfect spot to bury the body!" She answered immediately. That was the moment I knew I had found the right girlfriend, even if we did end up breaking up later.

We were done half an hour later. We started digging, and damn, that was harder than the actual murder. It took us almost three hours as Annika wanted to bury the body three meters into the ground. "And a bit higher, we will bury a dead animal. If someone starts digging, they will find the animal."

"You were planning this all along?"

"Obviously. You are so good at school subjects, yet you can't use your brain correctly."

"Go fuck yourself."

"Fuck me yours-"

"Shut up." I cut her off. "Just keep digging. You have talked enough for today. For the whole year, actually."

"You act as if I will listen to you." she commented.

"Just keep digging." I yelled at her. Surprisingly we stayed silent after that. "So," I started saying when we finished. "Wanna go play tennis?"

"Ooh, yeah."
