《The Throne》31

"You ready to go Baba?" Christen asks.
Christen's team plays Orlando today at home so I get to see the three A's today which is nice. It's also the last game Christen plays before she meets up with the national team for the Olympics.
I've been living with Christen for five months and doing rehab the whole time and it's been monotonous as fuck.
Living with Christen is amazing and has made me excited for our future, but the rehab blows.
Especially since Christen has held out and won't have sexy time with me until I'm healed.
"Yeah." I say and roll out of the apartment.
I roll to the elevator and wait for my girlfriend and Corsie to get here so she can press the button. They arrive five seconds later and presses the button then a few seconds later the elevator opens so I roll in backwards right before we take the elevator down to Christen's car. The three of us then get in the car and head to the Royals stadium.
When we get to the Stadium the three of us head to the locker room then I chill by Christen's locker as she changes and does her warm ups on the field. After the warm ups finish, I wait for the pregame ceremony stuff to be over with then I wheel my self to my normal spot at the end of the bench and watch the game.
As usual the Royals dominate the Pride and by the end of the game my girlfriend has 2 of the Royals' goals in their 4-1 win.
After the game is over Becky walks near me and I reach out and stop her.
"Becky can you help me?" I ask.
"Sure what's up?"
I explain what I need her to do and then she grabs Christen and Kelley and they go talk to the national team girls from the Pride.
When Christen's back is facing me I lock the wheels of the wheelchair then gradually stand up. Once I'm up I wobble a bit then look down a my feet and start moving.

After what feels like ages of walking I look up and see Alex and Ali are crying while looking at me. I'm still a good distance away from my princess and I'm fucking tired and my legs are on fire, but I have to keep walking.
I motion to the girls to keep quiet and they subtly nod so I look down and keep walking.

Once I can her them talking I look up and everyone, but Christen, is looking at me and crying.
My girlfriend is really oblivious.
"Okay why are all of you crying?" Christen asks.
Ash looks at me and I nod.
"Turn around Christen." Ash says.
Christen does and when she sees me she starts crying and has her hand over her mouth.
"Baba." Christen says with a smile.
"Hi." I say.
As I get closer to Christen she holds her hands out and I take them and walk into her arms.
"You did it." Christen says and pecks my lips.
"Yeah." I say while out of breath.
After our hug Christen wraps an arm around me and I lean on her.
"You girls just had to talk at the center circle" I say.
"Well if we knew what you were planning we would have stood closer." Ali says.
"I wanted it to be a surprise."
"It was one hell of a surprise." Kelley says.
"Princess?" I ask.
"Yes?" Christen says.
"Do you have recovery tonight?" I ask.
"No it's in the morning. Why?"
"Because I'm starving and tired."
"Okay well the girls are going to eat out tonight. Do you want to go?"
"Sure." I say then look at Ash. "Hey Ash?"
"Yes?"
"I hate to ask, but..."

"Don't worry. I got you." Ash says then picks me up and walks off the field as the other girls follow.
Ash carries me over to my chair and she sits me down in it then I wheel my self into the locker room and wait for Christen and Corsie to change. Once they're dressed we head back to the apartment then Christen showers and changes into more comfortable clothing.
"Hey Princess?" I question when my girlfriend is dressed.
"Yeah?" Christen says as she clasps her necklace around her neck.
"Can I leave this here and just walk with you?" I ask and motion to my wheelchair.
"Of course."
"Is Rachel coming with us?" I ask as Christen helps me stand up.
"No." Christen says as we gather our things. "Her family's in town so they're going to dinner."
"Okay." I say.
The two of us leave the apartment then head to the restaurant where we meet the rest of the national team girls.
"Hey." Christen says as she helps me sit down in the booth then she sits down next to me.
"Sup lovebirds." Kelley says.
"Says the girl who let the world know she had a girlfriend by kissing her after the final of a tournament." Christen sassily says.
"Babe?" I say causing Christen to look at me as everyone tries not to laugh. "We did the same thing."
"Oh." Christen says while blushing.
"Dork." Ash says as the waiter arrives.
All of us order our food and drinks then we talk while eating.
"Anna?" Alex question.
"Yes?" I say.
"Are you going to keep working for that company?"
"Not as often." I admit. "maybe once a year...and to less dangerous places."
"Good." Ash says. "I don't wanna see Pressy have that look on her face ever again."
I notice Ali squeeze her wife's thigh then I watch her mouth 'not the time'.
"Anyways." Becky says moving the conversation along. "How much longer is rehab?"
"Um I think I'm done." I say. "I just have to strengthen my legs."
"Are you going to go back to England?" Kelley asks.
"After the olympics I will." I admit. "I have some royal engagements I sadly have to be at."
"Do you really hate being a royal that much?" Alex asks.
"I don't hate it." I admit. "I don't hate it at all...I just hate having to go to these stupid functions, smile, shake everyone's hand, and act like I give a shit about whatever it is their promoting when, in actuality, I don't give a damn about what your promoting. The only time I do enjoy those functions is when I choose which one to go to."
"Well then." Kelley says.
"It gets monotonous after a while."
"I bet it does." Ali says.
"But other than that I enjoy parts of being a royal."
"Parts?" Ash questions and I nod.
"If I wasn't a royal then I wouldn't have met the love of my life." I admit.
"Aww." Kelley says then she nudges Christen. "She's talking about you."
"I stand corrected." Ash says as everyone laughs. "Kelley, you're a dork."
"Duh." Kelley says then I look at Christen.
"Your friends are weird."
"Yeah they are." Christen says. "but that's what makes them lovable."
"Aww...I think." Kelley ponders. "Should we be offended...I'm so confused."
"Ash is right Kels." Becky says. "You are a dork."
"Wait." Alex says. "Isn't you two's anniversary coming up?"
"Mhmm." I say as I squeeze Christen's hand. "In two days we will have been dating for a year."
"So when are you two getting married?"

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
