Kassey feels her phone buzz in her pocket.

She looks around her : in the car are also Lindsey, Sonnett and Megan, all talking together, having a few laughs. Ever since things happened with Kristie, Kassey has been avoiding her big time, and so does Kristie. They're just acting as if it never happened, and it is probably for the best, because Kassey doesn't know where to stand anymore.

As her three teammates are caught up by their conversation, Kassey reads the text from an unknown number :

This can't be good, the defender thinks to herself. She doesn't know what she should be more nervous about : Lynn Williams being on the same field than her after having an appointment with Hope, or seeing Kristie go down or something.

She shakes her head, upset.

Her text being delivered, the blonde locks her screen and starts looking at the view : they'll be at Stanford in less than a quarter hour, and then they have two hours to get ready for the game. Hope told her it'd be a game changer, but she still doesn't know how.

But it freaks her out.

When her phone buzzes again, Kassey's heart misses a few beats :

Fearing that her teammates would read the text, she immediately deletes the conversation, sweating.

Lindsey, who realizes that Kassey's face is white as fuck, asks :

"Kass, are you okay ?"

"U-u-uhm... Y-yeah" the blonde stammers, before controlling her emotions again and adding : "I'm just nervous, that's all."

"There's no need to be !" Megan exclaims, smiling.

Kassey nods.

If only they knew...

Red card issued to Lynn Williams for a frustration foul on Abby Dahlkemper in the 78' minute, score line 1-1.

Then, things change from a second to another.

As Lynn goes to the bench, she takes the gun Hope gave her out of her bag, pointing it toward the pitch and its players. She knows what she has to do, and will do it even if it's the last thing she does. So the walks toward the players, and points her gun at Megan, who is the closest person to her.

"Game over, bitches."

With that said, she pulls the trigger.

Megan only sees a shadow jump in front of her, and then a scream. Kailen falls hard on the ground, her eyes wide open, blood running out of her mouth. Megan immediately gets on her knees, ignoring Lynn and her gun, applying pressure where her girlfriend is bleeding : the bullet has hit her lungs.

But Lynn is not done yet.

She now points the gun at Sam, who as her arms raised, trying to keep her teammate calm. Around them, everybody stopped breathing, as Kailen is agonizing on the arms of a devastated Megan. When the blonde kisses her, she feels the brunette's last breath used to kiss her back, and then Kailen's muscles relax.

Lynn is smiling.

"Please, stop" Sam begs, setting her jaw. The captain armband is on her arm, as well as Kristie's, who is not far away from her sister, fearing for her life because of that boldness. But Sam is not willing to let things go. "You don't have to do this."

"Get out of my way, Mewis" Lynn orders, pointing the gun at Sam.

The forward obviously is becoming impatient, as she hits Sam in the face with her fist. The middy falls hard on the ground, while Lynn turns around and spots UCLA's bench. When she sees Julie Johnston, she smirks.

For Hope.

She shoots again, hitting the target in the shoulder.

"Julie !" Olivia screams, rushing toward her sister.

Julie falls on the ground, Hao just next to her. As the police are approaching, Lynn runs at Gibby, putting the gun on her head, facing the police officers.

"Get any closer and I'll blow her head up" Lynn warns them.

Kassey, who is on the background, has to wrap her arms around Kristie so that the blonde doesn't run at the forward to try something stupid. Kristie starts moving, but Kassey holds on, and is soon helped by Jane.

As the police is standing still, Lynn then smirks. Gibby is obviously fearing for her life big time, crying her eyes out.

"Yo, bitch !" Steph yells from the side.

That makes Lynn lose her temper.

In a second, she turns around and spots the brunette, who is standing alone in the middle of the field. Lynn fires as the policeman's bullet hit her, so the shot only get to Steph's arm, as Lynn falls on the ground, dead.

Next, things become blurry, as everybody is rushing on the field to help the hurt girls.

And then there's Megan, holding Kailen close to her heart for the last time, whispering 'I love you' at least a hundredth time before she is taken away from the body...

Sam falls down on her knees, on the verge of tears.

Kailen Sheridan is dead.

Julie is currently in the O.R.

Steph's is getting some medical attention with Abby right by her side, yelling at her for being so bold.

Meanwhile, the rest of the two teams are in the hospital. The middy buries her face in her hands : she can't do anything. Gibby is traumatized. Megan is dying in the inside. And she can't do anything about that. As her sister is wrapping an arm around her, she starts crying. She doesn't even have the courage to look up when Olivia Schough/Engen walks past her to sit down next to Moe and Leah.

The Stanford team obviously is in shock for what happened to Kailen. But they still are worried about the rest.

"Do we have any news on your girls ?" Leah asks, her voice shaking.

She just lost her best friend, but still manages to ask about the other girls.

"Steph is going to be all right" Lindsey says, her arm wrapped around Megan's shoulders, trying to comfort her, forgetting everything about her feelings to be here for her friend. She then shakes her head. "But for Julie..."

"It's not fucking fair" Olivia blurts out, obviously upset. "She's been through hell already, and now this happens ? When she's fucking pregnant ? I could bet on my life that Solo has something to do with it."

Everybody exchange look, as Olivia shakes her head.

"Well, at least it is safe to say that Steph saved our asses" Moe points out.

"Not all of our asses" Megan corrects.

There is a blank.

The rest of the night turns into Hell, as the girls from both schools are going through the worse night of their lives. When the doctors show up in the morning with news concerning Julie, everybody get on their feet.

Meanwhile, Kassey buries herself in guilt, driving straight at Hope's secret location with a clear idea in mind.
