"I'm gonna go talk to the family members now." I say.
"Okay." Ali says and nods knowing what I need to discuss with them about.
I leave the team meeting room and walk down the hall to where all the family members are meeting before they head to the stadium then I enter the room.
"Hey Astrid." Mom says.
"Hi Mom." I say and hug her and the rest of my family along with Tobin's family then I stand in front of everybody. "So there's something we need to tell you."
"We?" Christen's dad says.
"US Soccer."
"Ah." Christen's dad says then I take a deep breath.
"All of you know we are playing North Korea in our last group game tonight right?" I ask and everyone nods. "Okay...an hour ago I was informed that the North Koreans may try to hurt either the players or one of you."
"Like the players may try to hurt our daughters?" Mal's dad asks.
"No." I say. "Apparently Kim Jong-un wants to attack America and he see's this as a perfect opportunity.
"Oh my god." Katie says.
"When you get to your seats you will notice a group of men sitting on your left, your right, and behind you. These men are private security we have hired to protect you. FIFA knows about this situation and has already beefed up security. Now everyone will be in plain clothes as not to worry the public, but I wanted to let you guys know what is going on." I say
I look around the room and everyone is shocked and nervous.
"If you don't want to come to the game then I will tell your daughter the reason you aren't in attendance...we aren't suppose to tell the team, but I will be telling them at the stadium before the match."
"Are you sure it's safe to play?" Mr. Horan asks.
"If it wasn't 100 percent sure then I'd forfeit the game." I admit. "Our lives are more important than a game."

Everyone seems to be okay so I take my mom and Tobin's mom off to the side
"We're bringing the twins to the game so if possible can I hand them off to you during warmups again?"
"Of course." Cindy says.
"Thank you." I say and sigh.
"Are you okay?" My mom asks.
"I just want this game to be over. Not only do I have to worry about beating the Koreans, but I also have to worry about protecting you guys, the twins, and the team."
"We'll be fine." Mom says then she hugs me.
Cindy hugs me as well then I leave the room as the team is heading towards the bus.
"Here ya go." Tobin says and hands me my bag.
I put my bag on my back, take Kasey from my wife, then follow her onto the bus. Once on the bus I sit next to Tobin in silence as we ride to the stadium. When we get to the stadium everyone gets off the bus, heads to the locker room, changes into their warm up clothes, then the team does their warm ups.
While the team does their warm ups I gather my daughters and their diaper bags then I head over to the friends and family section.
"Hi." I say as I pass my daughters of to their grandparents.
"Everything will be okay." My Mom says.
I shrug my shoulders then turn around and head to the locker room and prepare my speech for what I need to say to the team.
"We're back." Ali says after knocking on my door.
I nod then stand up only for Ali to hand me a note so I read it. I shake my head at what the note reads then follow my assistant coach into the locker room.
"Lock the door." I whisper to Ash.
Ash nods then walks over to the door and locks it then she returns stand with the coaching staff.

"Alright." I say and get everyones attention. "You all know who our opponent tonight is and as much as we don't want it to be we all know this match is very political...and a few minutes ago I was just told that the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, is here today."
"Wow." Emily says.
"Don't look at him, don't make any rude gestures just...don't do anything to get yourself hurt."
"Got it." Mal says.
"Also...During warmups you may have noticed groups of men surrounding your family."
"Yeah?" Alex says.
"A couple hours ago we were informed that North Korea may carry out an attack on either one of you guys or your family members."
"What?" Kelley asks with wide eyes.
"The group of men surrounding our families are private security hired to protect them and FIFA has beefed up security."
"So the players may hurt us?" Lindsey asks.
"No." I say. "I'd forfeit the match if that was the case....US Soccer didn't want you to know until after the game, but I can't keep this from you guys."
"Are you sure it's safe?" Tobin asks.
"We wouldn't be here if I didn't." I say then look at everyone's faces. "Just play your game and let us worry about what may happen okay?"
Everyone tentatively nods.
"I promise we will do everything in our power to keep you safe."
The girls convincingly nod then everyone gets ready and the whole time their getting ready I only have one thought on my mind.
I can't wait for this game to be over.

"Blow your whistle." I mumble while looking at the ref. "Just blow your fucking whistle."
Seconds later the ref blows her whistle so I get of the bench and shake hands with the North Korean coach then I head onto the field and shake the refs hands. After I've shaken the refs hands I speed walk back into the locker room, head to the bathroom, find the nearest toilet, and empty my stomach into it.
"ASTRID." Kelley shouts, but I wave her away then I clean my mouth. "I'm getting Tobin."
After Kelley leaves I flush the toilet then lean against the wall of the stall and calm myself.
"Baby?" Tobin questions.
"In here." I barely get out.
A few seconds later my Boo Bear appears in front of me.
"What's wrong?" Tobin asks.
"I don't know." I admit. "I just felt really bad after shaking hands with everyone."
"Shaking hands with who?"
"Toby I'm tired." I mumble.
"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE." Tobin shouts. "ASH AND ALYSSA GET IN HERE."
"What's wrong?" Alyssa asks.
"I can't carry her. I need you to pick her up." Tobin says and points at me.
Ash and Alyssa hurry over to me and pick me up off the floor then they carry me into the locker room. When we get into the locker room the two keepers lay me down on the training table.
"The paramedics are coming." Tobin says and brushes my hair out of my face.
"Toby...Toby...Toby." I mumble as I struggle to stay awake.
"I'm here Astrid." Tobin says and puts her hand on my face
"The girls Toby." I mumble.
"We have them." Christen says and shows me Kasey in her arms and Ingrid in Alex's.
"MOVE." Ash shouts then everyone moves away from me.
"Ms. Heath can you hear me?" Someone asks and shines a light in my eyes.
"Mhmm." I mumble.
"What's wrong?" The man asks.
"Ma'am what's on your hand?" Another man asks.
I look at my hand to see what he's talking about and sure enough there's a small clear strip on my palm.
"Okay we need to start IV Fluids STAT." Somebody says.
Well this can't be good.

8 170Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel (An Irreverent Fanfiction)
Fates Parallel is a gripping cultivation story, following the adventures of a half-spirit girl with nothing as she grows both as a cultivator and as a person after arriving at the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial and Arcane Arts. It features fleshed-out, believable characters, wonderful world-building that informs the course of the plot, and girls who hold hands. Fates Parallel is a very good story, and you should read it! Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at this same world from a different angle, following a totally regular girl who brings bad luck with her wherever she goes. It features shallow, joke-name characters, a focus on the least interesting parts of a fantastic world, and girls who hold hands (potentially). Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is an amazingly hilarious (so says me) fanfiction and you should read it! (This is a Totally Author Approved Spin-Off (Fanfiction) for Fates Parallel, which you can find in a number of places including here on RoyalRoad! Please do read it!)

8 128Heir to the Throne
All his life Corvus thought he was simple and ordinary person. He thought he had no more family. How wrong he was. His grandfather is, for all intents and purposes, a god. A god who had 8 wives, 24 concubines and 256 grandchildren, counting Corvus. Now Corvus has had his peaceful ordinary life snatched from him as he and all his cousins are thrown into a contest to determine the one true heir. Mature tag is checked so I can write without censoring myself. I think I've hit or approached language, gore, and sexual content at this point so... yeah.
