"Ready to go Boo Bear?" I ask.
"Almost." My wife says then she kisses me. "Okay now I am."
"Alright." I say with a smile and intertwine our hands. "Let's go see who we'll be playing in the World Cup."
Tobin and I are in Australia at the World Cup draw as a part of the US Soccer delegation.
Tobin and I leave our hotel and make our way to the Sydney Opera House then we walk the red carpet thing before we head inside, head to our seats, and sit down.
"Who do you wanna play in the groups?" I question as I intertwine Tobin and I's hands.
"Not Sweden." Tobin says. "I wanna face someone new."
The pre-draw stuff starts so Tobin and I watch on until the actual draw starts.
"This will be the first women's World Cup with 32 teams playing for the trophy." Alex Scott says as some dude draws out the only green ball in the pot
All the other balls are yellow.
"No surprise here." Some dude says and holds up the card that was in the ball. "The first ball out is Australia, who will slot right into Group A, position A1"
"What stadium are we playing in next month?" Tobin whispers.
"For the Australia game we're playing in the world cup final stadium Stadium Australia in Sydney and for the Canada game we're playing in Brisbane Stadium in Brisbane." I say. "Or it might actually be called Suncorp Stadium."
"And the next ball out is...USA."
"So the Defending Champions will be placed in Group B in slot B1." Alex Scott says
"Thank fuck we don't have to wait so damn long." I whisper to Tobin.

Tobin and I wait around a couple minutes and wait for our group to show back up.
"And Joining the United States in Group B will be.........Denmark."
"Cool." Tobin mumbles as my phone buzzes so I check it.
Pernille: WE'RE GONNA WIN 🇩🇰
"Oh shit we're playing Pernille." Tobin says as I show her the text. "I forgot about that."
"Denmark will be placed in slot...B2."
"That's a big first game." I say.
"Probably the Primetime game." Tobin says and I nod.
"And from Pot 3 the next team to join Group B will be.........North Korea."
"North Korea will be placed in slot...B4
"Well that games gonna get a lot of press." Tobin says.
"Way too much press." I say.
"And the last team to join Group B and going into slot B3 will be.........Argentina."
Tobin and I wait around for the rest of the groups to finish being drawn then we look over the groups.
"Good luck to everyone and we'll see you this summer."
"Come on Boo Bear." I say and squeeze Tobin's hand. "Let's go eat."

"Astrid wait." Tobin says as I chase her through our home. "Astrid I didn't mean it...I Love you....don't do it...Astrid no."
I finally catch up to my wife so I wrap my arms around her and start rubbing my flour covered face all over Tobin's.
"That's for dumping flour on my head." I say causing my wife to pout.
"You suck." Tobin mumbles.
"I do more than that too." I say causing my wife to blush.
"Shush." Tobin says and smushes my face then she pecks my lips. "We need to cook before we have to go to the airport."

"Fine." I say then pick Tobin up and carry her back towards the kitchen. "Don't we have more lights to hang up?"
"Just the ones around the columns." Tobin says as I set her down. "We also need to shower."
Tobin and I finish baking then we put on our coats and head outside to finish putting the lights up. Once outside we string lights around the 8 columns that line our front porch, we hook them up to the timer, then look at our creation.
"It's so cold." Tobin mumbles so I stand behind her and wrap my arms around her. "Mhmm that's better."
"I love you Toby." I say then kiss my wife's rosy red cheeks.
"I love you too." Tobin says then she turns in my arms, hugs me, and kisses me. "And I love your lips."
"Which one's?" I tease causing Tobin's cheeks to get even more red.
"If you don't hurry up and get me into the shower you won't find out."
"On it." I say then pick Tobin up and bolt into the house, up to our room, and into our bathroom.
Once in the bathroom we strip then get in the shower and take a sadly tame shower since we actually have to be somewhere. After our shower we put on our clothes, grab our phones and wallets, head to the car, get in the car, then head to the Portland airport. When we get to the airport we pull up to the kerb right as the people we're picking up come out.
"Hey Strides." Kelley says and hugs me.
"Hey Kelloggs." I say and kiss my twin's head then I hug her wife. "Hey Hope."
"Hey Astrid." Hope says.
Hope and I load the bags into the car then I get into the drivers side and we drive away from the airport. Once away from the airport we stop and get some food for dinner then head back to the house. When we get to the house we park in the garage, take everything inside then eat dinner.
"So how was Australia?" Kelley questions as she eats her dinner while sat on Hope's lap.
"It was good." Tobin says. "We saw the stadium we'll play at in January."
"We really didn't get to do anything since it was a 48 hour trip." I say.
"What did you think of the Draw?" Hope asks.
"I think the last group game against North Korea could turn into a shit show."
"What do you mean?" Kelley asks.
"It's probably going to be turned into a political show with both countries trying to make it out like their the better country."
"Who do you think'll get second?" Hope asks.
"Denmark." I say. "They're gonna have a very tough time against us, but they'll destroy the other two teams."
"How far do you think we'll go?" Kelley asks.
"We're gonna win the World Cup."

I just didn't realize that death was my opportunity to really live. -------------------------- Author's Note: I don't plan on having any explicit sexual content, but the tag is on so that I won't feel restrained in my writings. Also, the updates will be sporadic at best since I can only write when I'm free which is, unfortunately, rare.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
