"You ready to get outta here Strides?" Kelley asks
"Fuck yes I am." I say and get off the bed.
I had to stay two days in the hospital and now we have to get back to Utah so the girls can get back to training for the upcoming games. I can't fly yet so I have to drive.
"Come on then." Kelley says
The two of us grab my bags then we head down to the lobby and get into the rental car while Becky loads my bags.
"We ready to go?" Christen asks once Becky is in the car.
"Yep." The three of us say.
"Lets go." Christen says and drives away from the hospital. "Oh also I'm thirsty so we're stopping for a drink."
"Fine by me." Kelley says and leans her head on my shoulder.
"Did I say anything weird while I was on anesthesia?" I ask.
"You told Tobin you were going to marry her." Christen says.
"Well she already knows I am............did I say anything else?"
"You also told Tobin not to tell her self that she has a really cute butt." Kelley says.
"I mean it's true." I say as we pull into the drive through of a fast food restaurant.
Christen orders everyone what they want then we get our food and start the eleven hour drive back to Salt lake City.
"You know you guys didn't have to do this." I say. "I would've drove myself."
"We know." Christen says.
"But you'd do this for us so we're doing it for you." Becky says.
"Well thanks." I say. "Um can we talk about something?"
"Sure what's up?" Becky says.
"Did they tell you guys anything about the surgery?" I ask. "I was a little out of it the past couple days."

"Yeah." Kelley says and clears her throat. "It was cancer, but they did catch it early enough and they were able to remove it from your kidneys. The doctor says he doesn't believe it spread, but you probably need to schedule an appointment with an oncologist."
"At least they caught it." Christen mumbles.
"Pressy are you driving the whole time?" I question.
"No we're switching every four hours."
"Good."
"How's wedding planning going Christen?" Becky asks as I start eating my food.
"It's going good." Christen says with a smile. "We've got almost everything already set so we just have to do final dress fittings for everyone then I have to write my vows."
"Damn you guys work fast." Kelley says. "Hope and I didn't have everything nailed down until a month before hand."
"This year is moving so fast." I say. "It feels like just yesterday was Kelley's wedding and your wedding is in like 4 months...geez where has the time gone."
"What's the significance of the date?" Becky asks.
"It's 13 years to the day of when we started dating." Christen says.
"Aww." Kelley says. "That's so cute."
"Dork." I mumble then I eat some more food.
"Kels are you ever going to change your name on your jersey?" Christen asks.
"I don't think so." Kelley says. "In fact Hope told me not to since O'Hara is my brand so it's more recognizable...but legally I've already changed it to Kelley Maureen Solo."
"I'm still not use to that." I say.
"Well I'm sure it will take me a while to get use to Astrid Grace Heath." Kelley says.
"True." I say.
"Have you and Alex decided on what you'll do for last name?" Becky asks.

"No." Christen says as Kelley moves my food from my lap. "We're still stuck."
Kelley hands me my food, takes off her seat belt, lays down on the back seat, then rests her head in my lap.
"You're comfy." Kelley mumbles as I run my fingers through her hair.
"Astrid are you still okay with Corsie and I staying with you while our apartment's getting fixed?" Christen asks.
Apparently a pipe burst in Christen and Corsie's apartment and flooded it while I was in the hospital in Japan.
"Of course." I say. "It'll be nice to have some company at the house."
"And help around the house." Kelley says then the car gets quiet.
Kelley and I take a three hour nap until we reach Vegas then we stop at an In-N-Out for lunch. After everyone is full, Becky gets in the drivers seat then we fill up before we head to our second stop, which is Fillmore, Utah.
"Astrid are you gonna play the rest of the season?" Christen asks.
"I want to." I admit. "But that's up to the doctors and Laura."
"How's your spine?" Becky asks.
"Feels good." I admit. "To be honest it's felt good ever since the surgery."
"And the kidney's?"
"The surgery site is still a bit raw, but other than that I feel good."
"Well that's good."
"This has been a hell of a week for you." Kelley says.
"Tell me about it." I mumble.
"Have they told you who they'll get to take your spot once you retire?" Kelley asks.
"Either someone from college like Meagan McClelland or Sandy MacIver, a Dutch Keeper named Lize Kop, Emily Dolan, who's an American playing in Spain, or some other keeper from Europe...Laura said they also might trade for someone."
"Like?" Christen asks.
"Emily Boyd, Michelle Betos, Mackenzie Arnold, Britt Eckerstrom, or Kailen Sheridan."
"So they don't know." Kelley deduces.
"They don't have a fucking clue." I say.
"Great." Kelley groans.
"What about you Becky?" Christen asks. "Have they told you who they'll get to slide into your spot?"
Becky's retiring too...So are Ash, Ali, Carli, and Pinoe.
"Most likely Gaby, but they have their eyes on some girls from college." Becky says.
"It's gonna be weird not having you two on the field anymore." Kelley says.
"You'll still see us." Becky says. "We both live in Portland so we'll probably see you at the Thorn games and we'll probably come to a few national team games."
"Wait how'd the documentary come out?" Christen asks.
"I won't watch it." I admit. "I hate watching myself."
"It did good." Kelley says. "People have positive reactions so it's done good."
"That's good." Becky says.
"Astrid?" Kelley asks.
"Yeah?" I say.
"Do you still wanna do the photoshoot?"
