"Do you have to go?" I ask while hugging Lindsey before she goes through airport security.

The Thorns are playing Utah tomorrow.

"Yes baby I do. I even took the last flight out of LA so I could be here for your 6 month appointment." Lindsey says.

"I know...and you don't know how much that means to me."

"I wouldn't dare miss an appointment."

Lindsey kisses me then heads to security so I turn around and leave.

"CAIRO" Lindsey yells.

I turn around and see her running over to me.

"Baby what's wrong?" I ask as she gets to me and hugs me.

"I forgot to tell you I love you." Lindsey says making me giggle.

"I love you too." I say then kiss her.

Lindsey then goes back to security and when I can't see her anymore I turn around and leave.

Everything has been going great. Cairo's pregnancy is going fantastic, Our baby is healthy, and we, the Thorns, just beat the Utah Royals 2-1 and now myself, Kling, and Tobin are at Christen's place eating dinner and catching up with her, Kelley, and Becky before everyone leaves in the morning. We were all having a good time relaxing and just talking about stuff when my phone rang.

"It's Cairo." I say when I pick up the phone.

"Ooh put it on speaker" Kling says so I do.

"Hey baby mama." I say making the other girls laugh.

"Lindsey." Cairo says then we hear sniffling and what sounds like crying.

All the girls look at me with wide eyes and I look at my phone.

"Cairo what's wrong?"

"I-Is the game over yet?"

"Yes baby it ended an hour ago."

"Are you at the airport?"

"No I'm eating dinner with Tobin, Kling, Christen, Kelley, and Becky."

"When are you coming home?"

"Tomorrow beautiful."

"oh" Cairo says then we hear her crying.

"Cairo what's wrong?"

"nothing"

"Baby I can hear you crying. Please just tell me what's wrong so I can fix it." I say and Becky comes over and puts her arm around me to keep me calm.

"c-c-c-can you just come home please...please."

Christen shows me her phone that has a message that says 'stall while we book you a flight.'

"Okay baby. I'll be there soon." I don't really want to stall at the moment. I just want to hold my wife. "Cairo?"

"Yeah?" She croaks out.

"I love you."

"I love you too...More than you'll ever know." Cairo says.

Christen gets my attention and tells me we need to go so I grab my bags and everyone gets up, heads to one of the girls car, piles into the car, and we head to the airport.

"Baby?" I say.

"Yes?"

"I have to go get on the plane now. I'll be home in 2 hours okay?"

"Okay...I'll meet you there"

"Okay. I love you Cairo."

"I love you Princess." Cairo says and hangs up.

I put my phone in my bag then put my head in my hands.

"She'll be okay Lindsey." Tobin says and wraps her arms around me.

"I've never heard her sound so broken before." I say and the car gets deadly silent and stays that way till we get to the airport.

Once we get there I get my bags from the car and quickly hug everyone and then sprint inside. Thankfully I have TSA Pre-Check so I get to skip the long ass security line. Once past security I sprint to my gate and arrive just as they're shutting the door

"WAIT" I yell as I run up to the gate agent. He opens the door and scans my ticket allowing me to go down the gangway and walk into the plane and sit in my seat which thankfully is in the second row of the plane. After I sit down I pull out my phone and text the girls.

Me: Hey I made it. Thank you for getting me a seat.

Christen: Of course. Have a safe flight

Kelley: Let us know what's going on please.

Tobin: ^

Kling: ^^

Becky: ^^^

After a long two hours we finally arrive at LAX and as soon as we are allowed to get off the plane I sprint out of the plane and run to the front of the airport. Once I get there I look around trying to see my wife and finally I do see her so I swiftly walk over to her and wrap her in my arms.

"I'm here baby. It's gonna be okay. Everything will be fine. You're okay Cairo. You're okay."

Cairo doesn't say anything. She just tightens her hold on me and I feel my shirt get wet so I know she is crying.

"Let's go home." I say and she nods so we walk to the car and drive to the house. Once we get there Cairo wordlessly walks into the house and sits on the couch. I lock everything up then put my stuff down and walk over to my wife.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask while sitting behind her and resting my hands on her bump.

"Am I going to be a good mother?" Cairo asks while tracing circles on my arm.

"You're going to be an amazing mother."

"How do you know?"

"Because I've seen how you are with kids. Trust me baby you will be the best mother ever." My wife sighs. "Why don't I go run you a bath."

"Will you join me?" Cairo says and I can hear the vulnerability in her voice.

"I would love to join you."

I help Cairo off the couch and up the stairs to our room where she sits on the edge of the bed. I go and start the bath then text the girls.

Me: Hey I made it safely.

Christen: That's good. Is everything okay?

Kling: DO I NEED TO BEAT SOMEONE UP

Me: No Kling you don't. She just had a weak moment

Becky: Is she okay now?

Me: I think she is still a little shaken up.

Tobin: If you don't mind me asking why did she have a weak moment?

Me: She is scared that she won't be a good mother. She remembers what she went through as a child and I think that's been playing on her mind for a while. I think it also may be hormones

Kelley: She'll be an amazing mom. She also has you and the rest of your daughters aunties who will love her like she is our own.

"Princess?" I hear Cairo say as she comes into the bathroom.

"Yes baby?"

"Can you help me get undressed?"

"Of course." I say then help her get out of her clothes leaving her naked.

Cairo then walks over to the mirror and stares at herself in the mirror.

"I'm so big." She says.

"You're big because you are carrying our little bundle of joy." I say while wrapping my arms around her from behind her and resting my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm so ugly."

"Cairo you are absolutely radiant. Everyday it takes everything in me not to rip your clothes off and make sweet sweet love to you...Bath is ready babe"

I help her into the tub then discard my clothes and sit down behind her and wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck. We sit in silence just enjoying being together.

"I'm sorry I made you leave early." Cairo says breaking the silence.

"Cairo I would fly around the world if you needed me to. I'm your wife and you are the love of my life. I will always be here for you."

"I love you Princess."
