"You ready babe?" Lindsey asks.
I nod and we walk out of our room hand in hand to Jill's room and knock on the door.
"Ahh the Horan family...to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" Jill asks after answering the door.
"We need to speak with you if you have the time." I say and Jill nods and motions us to come in.
"So what's going on?"
"We just wanted to come tell you that I won't be able to come to camp for awhile."
"I'm confused....What do you mean?"
"Cairo is pregnant." Lindsey says.
*Flashback*
My wife and I are on our weekly date night and I'm waiting for Lindsey to get back from the bathroom after dinner so we can talk.
Alright she is coming back. Come on Cairo you can do this. Woman up and just do it.
"Hey princess?" I say when she sits down.
"Yes wifey."
"I need to tell you something."
"Okay. What is it? Are you okay?"
"Depends on how you take this."
Lindsey grabs my hand and our fingers subconsciously intertwine." Cairo whatever it is I promise I will love you all the same. Nothing will ever change that. Just take a breath and say what's on your mind."
"Lindsey I want to have a baby."
Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me.
"W-what? You-you do?" Lindsey stutters out.
I don't know if that is a good or bad sign.
"I want to have a baby with you more than anything in the world." I say and wait for Lindsey's reply which never comes because she passionately kisses me.
"I do too. I just didn't know if you were ready and I didn't want to rush you."
FUCK YES.
I let out a huge breath I didn't know I was holding.
"You okay?" Lindsey asks.
"Yeah I just...my mind jumped to the worst possible scenario. Now it's the best possible scenario and...I just love you so fucking much." I say and wipe the tears from my eyes.

"I love you so much as well beautiful."
"So... I was thinking that I could carry the baby." I say.
"If that's what you want then I am on board...Why don't we go back to the house and talk more about this?" Lindsey says. Lindsey and I then get up and walk towards our car
"You know what I want to do when we get back?" I say when we get into the car.
"What?"
I lean in to whisper into her ear. "I want to make love to my wife" I say and nip her ear while running my hand up and down her thigh.
BEST NIGHT EVER.
*End flashback*
"Oh my god. Congratulations you two." Jill says and smiles then hugs the both of us. "How far along are you?"
"13 weeks."
"Thats amazing. Are you going to try to play this camp?"
"What would you suggest doing?"
"I'm going to keep you out of everything."
"That's fine by us." Lindsey says and I nod.
I'm glad thats her decision. I don't want to risk anything with this pregnancy.
"For games can I still suit up so nobody questions anything and I just won't play?" I say/ask.
"That sounds like a plan. Have you told Portland?"
"Not yet. We wanted to let you know first since Portland will put out a statement and we didn't want you to find out that way." I say and Jill smiles.
"Well thank you for telling me."
"Could we call a team meeting and tell the girls?" Lindsey asks.
Jill agrees and calls everyone to the conference room. The three of us wait a little bit then walk down. Once we get there we notice that we are the last ones down there. As we are walking to the front of the room I give Dawn stuff from my OB/GYN then the three of us stand in front of everyone.
"Okay thank you everyone for coming here on such short notice. Lindsey and Cairo have something they need to tell you." Jill says then sits down and all eyes are on us.

"Um this is the last camp I will be at for a while." I say and Lindsey squeezes my hand.
"Why buddy?" Kling asks.
"Did you get loaned out?" Kelley asks not giving me time to answer Kling.
"Nope."
"Did you get transferred?" Pinoe asks.
"Nope."
"Just let her say it guys." Carli says.
I take a deep breath and then smile. "I'm pregnant."
"WHAT" The team yell.
I just smile and rub my stomach. Lindsey and I are then swarmed with hugs and congratulations.
After everyone has hugged us they sit back down.
"How far along are you?" Christen asks.
"13 weeks."
"Any weird cravings yet?" Ash asks.
"No she sometimes get sick if a certain scent of food hits her." Lindsey answers because I don't really know if I have any since I'll eat most anything.
"Who the fuck has animal crackers?" I ask and look at the team.
"Me" Mal sheepishly says.
Lindsey rolls her eyes then reaches into her bag and pulls out animal crackers and she hands them to me. I immediately open them and start eating.
"Thank you." I say with a bit of a mouthful making Lindsey shake her head and chuckle.
"I stand corrected. She weirdly has a craving for animal crackers." Lindsey says
"I don't mean to be rude, but how did you get pregnant?" Kelley asks.
"There is a procedure now where they take a stem cell from Lindsey and use it to fertilize my eggs which allows our future child to look like both of us so that's what we did." I say
"Have you thought of names yet?" Ali asks.
"Not really. We want to find out the gender first before we pick a name."
"Are you going to be practicing?" Tobin asks.
"No. I won't be. I'll suit up for the games and just sit on the bench. We haven't told the Thorns yet so we need to do that. I don't want to risk anything with this pregnancy."
"How's the morning sickness?" Sam asks.
"It's a bitch" Lindsey says and I nod.
"When's your due date?" Alex asks.
"October 28th" I say and everyone gets out their phone to, I guess, put it in their calendar.
"Are you two staying in Portland?" Emily asks.
"I'm not. My OB/GYN is in LA so I need to be close to her." I say.
"I want to be with Cairo during the whole pregnancy so I'm going to talk with Portland to see if I can fly out for the games." Lindsey says.
Suddenly I get very faint and thankfully Tobin notices.
"Woah." She says then runs over wraps her arms around me. "I got you."
"Baby what's wrong?" Lindsey asks, but I don't respond.
Dawn then comes up behind me with a chair and sits me down in it then she starts talking, but I'm just focusing on not falling asleep.
"Cairo I need you to calm down and breathe." Dawn says.
"What's happening?" I ask.
"When was the last time you had water?"
"No clue."
"Okay you're probably a little dehydrated plus your doctor also says she doesn't want you to be on your feet for too long."
"Did she say why?" Lindsey asks before I tune everything out and lean on my wife.
Next thing I know we are in our room and I don't have a shirt on and Lindsey is cuddled up to me.
"H-how did we get here?" I ask.
"Get where?" Lindsey asks.
"To the room."
"Ash and Tobin carried you."
"Why don't I have a shirt on?"
"Dawn says you need to cool down."
There is then a comfortable silence in the room and I think about how everything is going to change.
"You know it's gonna be different with a baby running around the house." I say as I play with my wife's hair.
"How so?" Lindsey says while tracing shapes on my skin.
"Well for one thing no sex in the kitchen, or on the couch, or by the pool, or in the media room, or by the fireplace."
"But that's my favorite." Lindsey says with a pout.
"We'll just have to find a babysitter then."

What A Dream Wants
Crepitating lines of code fill the room, corrugating the world around him, and only he bends them. Seventeen muscles to smile and to pretend everything is okay, but the pertinacious wait will make every return more gratifying. Forgotten by everyone, was the price she had to pay. Died too many times trying to save one person. Still, she can't help but remember and do it again. He woke up too late. If he hadn't slept till now, then maybe everything wouldn't have been a mess. How could he be so stupid? Yet, out of them all, this is the one itinerary he chooses not to change. What a dream wants isn't what a sin desires. What i long for, will never come back to me. Characters come and go, but sometimes, words die out forever. I am a pretentious writer.

8 149Soten (Book I in The Saga of Mira the Godless)
Anyone on the Isle will say Lady Mira caused the Twenty Years' War. While they're at it, they'll call her a witch, a whore, or a heathen, maybe all three in the same breath. Soten is Mira's version of the story. Captive in a Northern village, Mira expects brutality from the rough climate and harsh Northerners. Instead, she discovers a land where people speak their thoughts out loud, where women are free to be with any they desire, and those who divine messages from the gods are listened to, not burnt at the stake. Mira's idyllic new life is threatened when she hears of her brother's growing army to the south; she doesn't need rescuing; she's far too attached to the life she's building (and the lighthearted raider who is quickly becoming a central part of it). Then she meets Arik, the enigmatic Norsern king, a man who has drastic plans for next season's raids, plans that involve the sister of a great southern commander. To Mira, this is a story about love. To the rest of the world, it is a story about war. Book II: KAKEN coming soon!
