A couple days ago was our last NWSL game before we were released for the World Cup and we beat Houston 3-1 with Christine, Hayley, and Tobin getting the goals. Today is our first day of the World Cup camp and it's an easy day. We have a bunch of press to do and other non training related things. At the moment we are doing a photoshoot in our kits and I'm the fourth person to go.
"Why do you girls wear makeup?" I ask to nobody in particular as someone puts some type of makeup on my face.
"Well some of us need it to look good unlike you." Someone says.
"Oh please. None of you need it."
"Lindsey I'm stealing your girlfriend." Kelley says.
"Excuse me." Lindsey says.
"Sorry Kels, but I'm perfectly happy with Lindsey."
"Alright you ready?" The photographer asks.
"I think so. How do I look?"
"Wait." Lindsey says and walks over to me then does something with my hair. "Okay you look perfect now."
"Not as perfect as you." I say and Lindsey blushes then pecks my lips and walks away.
"Cairo are you always this flirty?" Abby asks.
"It's not flirty if it's the truth." I say and the team aww and I can see Lindsey blushing again. "But yes with Lindsey I do flirt a lot just so I can see her blush because I find it cute."
"But what about when you flirt with the team?" Mal asks.
"What do you mean?"
"Like when you said none of us need makeup. That was flirting."
"Not really. It's the truth. Nobody here needs it." I look back at the photographer. "I'm sorry ma'am I didn't mean to stop the shoot. I'm ready whenever you are."

"It's okay...For the first shot I need you to have no smile. Have your game face on." I do what the photographer says and stand and look at the camera.
"So her natural face." Kling says from behind the camera causing me to glare straight at her.
"If looks could kill you'd be dead Kling." Pinoe says.
"Alright for the next one I need you to smile." I do as told and smile.
"Cairo actually smile." Kelley says.
"I am."
"Cairo think of your favorite memory of Lindsey." Alex says and my smile instantly gets bigger and the photographer snaps some pictures. "Knew that would work."
"Okay for the last one I need you to do your goal celebration."
"Um I need someone else then."
"That's fine" The photographer says
"Who wants to do it?" I ask.
"I'll do it." Ash says.
"So what is your celebration?"
"I run and jump on someone." I say and the photographer sets us up how she wants us. Ash is in the middle of the back drop and I'm off to the side.
"Alright on 3 do your thing. 1...2...3..." I run and jump into Ash's arms and wrap my legs around her and both of us smile like idiots.
"Great...we are done with what I need. Do you have any other poses you want to do?" The photographer asks.
"I'm good if you are." The photographer nods so I walk out from in front of the camera and wait around until I am told to go change into something more comfortable then come back down. I go up to Lindsey and I's room and change then come back down and wait for everyone to finish their shoot then change out of their kit.

"Alright now we are gonna do a video of other people on the team and coaching staff asking each of you 10-15 questions." The team press officer says. The camera people then begin setting up the two cameras. One pointing toward the person answering the questions and one pointing toward the rest of the team. "Ready whenever you guys are."
I'm up first.
"If you weren't a soccer player and didn't have your business what you be doing?" Lindsey asks first.
"Probably something to do with kids like a pediatric nurse or working with an orphanage or teaching."
"Messi or Ronaldo?" Tobin asks.
"Sorry Lindsey...Ronaldo."
"Would you let one of us give you a tattoo?" Mal asks.
"As long as I get to tattoo you back I would."
"Where did you grow up?" Ali asks.
"California"
"Outside of sports where do you want to be in five years?" Alex asks.
"Married with kids." I say and I see Lindsey smile.
"What team that you haven't played yet would you want to play?" Jill asks.
"Iceland."
"When you were growing up what athlete or athletes did you most look up to?" Rose asks.
"Abby Wambach, Paul Scholes, and Cristiano Ronaldo."
"If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive who would they be?" Christen asks.
"Nelson Mandela, Sir Alex Ferguson, and Charlie Chaplin."
"Who is your favorite rapper right now?" Abby asks.
"J. Cole"
"What is something nobody knows about you?" Kelley asks.
"I was eligible to play for 4 national teams."
"Which ones?" Jill asks.
"Iceland, Italy, Spain, and obviously the US."
"Why are you eligible for those 4?"
"Well I was born and lived in the US for 15 years. My mom was Spanish and my dad was Italian and I lived in Iceland for three years."
"Why'd you choose to represent America?" Tobin asks.
"I lived here for 15 years. And Jill was the only coach to call." I say and Jill looks happy about that.
"Besides Lindsey who is your celebrity crush?" Kling asks.
"Demi Lovato."
"After all the current captains retire who do you think should be the next captain?" Carli asks.
"Morgan Brian or Julie Ertz"
"Where do you want to go on your next vacation?" Sam asks.
"Switzerland." I say.
After that question I'm done so I go sit with the team and we ask the other people questions and by the time we are done it's dinner time so we eat then go to sleep early since training starts tomorrow.
