《BRUINS》38

Stanford
4 days later : GAME DAY v Harvard
Becky takes a seat in the front row, looking for her girlfriend on the pitch. But since the brunette is nowhere to be found, she only shakes her head and waits.
Entering the Draft tomorrow, the defender is feeling nauseous : what if she doesn't get picked ? What if either her or Kelley will find themselves unwanted ? What if all this drama just prevented them from getting picked ? Loads of questions are running through her mind, but still, she just keeps her eyes on the pitch. Good thing is that her teammates didn't let her come here all by herself : Julie is by her side, sitting next to Maro. When the veteran realizes that they're sometimes holding hands, she only smiles : she always has liked the German, and is glad that Julie found someone like her.
Then, there are Rose and Mal, who came to support Moe, Lindsey and Janine, their former teammates, as Kealia can be seen on the ranks as well. It's been a long time since Becky hasn't seen the former Bruin, and she was kind of glad she was back here.
"Crazy what happened, uhn ?" the blonde asks, raising her eyebrows.
Becky nods.
"Fortunately enough, it's over now."
Of course the defender is not angry at the girls that left the team during the year : their safety came first. If you take Janine's example : she got beat up under Hope's order. It's pretty normal that she or her parents didn't want her to stay here. Same goes to the youngster as Lindsey and Moe.
Speaking of which, the young middy joins her Harvard teammates on the field, as they do their usual hoodle. Still no sign of Shelina.
"We are going to keep this team going, Becks" Kealia says in a serious tone.
Becky frowns
"'We'?"

Kealia smiles. "I'm coming back next year. I don't know how I'd manage to do my last year of college somewhere else than here, with those wonderful girls."
"I'm glad to hear that" Becky says, hugging the blonde.
As soon as she lets go of her, Kealia has a bright smile on her lips when she looks toward the field. Becky immediately does the same, and when she sees Shelina jogging toward her, she immediately walks down the stairs to be leveled-up with the girl. When the brunette quickly wraps her arms around Becky's neck and kisses her with all the love she has, Becky kisses her back, smiling in the process.
Once the brunette lets go, she has the brightest and cutest smile of them all, and says in a very loving voice :
"Wish me luck, babe"
"Good luck, go and kill it" Becky says, as Shelina is already walking away. After some steps taken by the Canadian, Becky can't help but yell : "That's my girl here !"
Shelina turns around, laughing, before rolling her eyes at her girlfriend and join her teammates in the center of the field.
"Is it safe to say that y'all are goals ?" Rose asks.
Becky shakes her head, laughing. "Shut up, kid."
"Fine"
When the whistle blows, Stanford and Harvard are ready to battle through this one. And what a battle it has indeed been.
*
"At least Harvard never cheated" Steph lets out, rolling her eyes.
Her girlfriend gives her a bow in the ribs, as the girls here in Abby's apartment are arguing about Harvard's second goal, that seemed to be offside. Rose turns around, as Steph has this usual grin on her face.
The middy smirks.
"True" Rose lets out.
"But Stanford would've deserved it as well" Gibby argues from the couch, where she is sitting in between Jane and Mal. "Those girls have nothing to do with all the drama that's been going on... I mean-"

"We get it" Jane says, rolling her eyes.
Both Megan and Julie burst into laughter : the blonde are always amused by how not subtle Jane is when saying things. The goalie throws them a dark glare, before laughing herself and concentrating on what is happening on the video.
After their friends are all caught up by the TV, Steph smoothly slips her hand to the back of Abby's neck, before kissing her with passion. The blonde pushes her away, smirking, before kissing her nose and says :
"You're such a brat, babe"
The forward takes this as a compliment, as she says :
"I can't wait to see what next year will bring to the table"
The blonde only nods.
"This reminds me of something" Abby starts, before her eyes fall on Steph's and lose their way among their depth. The forward has a silly smile on her lips, but she lets her girlfriend continue. "My parents invited us to spend the holidays in France with them."
"Your parents ? They remember they hate me, right ?"
"They don't hate you, babe" Abby lets out, rolling her eyes.
"Of course thy do ! I stole their baby girl and dragged her to the dark side of the gays" Steph sarcastically says, quoting the whole thing with her fingers.
That makes the defender laugh.
"My dad actually likes you because your jokes are as bad as his." she says, and that brings a smile on Steph's lips. "And my brother thinks you're stupid but kind of perfect for me. So let's say my mother will have to adapt."
"Where in France ?"
"Nice, and then Cannes."
"Is there great food around there ?"
"Of course."
"Then I'm in."
Abby punches her girlfriend's arm, before smirking and kissing her. She already can't wait for the holidays to begin.

Maro slowly advances to the taxi waiting for her to get her to the airport. She hasn't heard of Julie, so when she greeted her other teammates to thank them for the warm welcome and an unforgettable senior year, she just asked Becky to give Julie a message. Hopefully, the blonde would follow her, but Maro knows it probably won't happen.
But Julie waiting for her near the taxi, empty-handed, if it isn't for the beautiful rose she holds in her hand. When Maro puts her luggage on the truck, she has a nostalgic smile : this is a new separation for them.
"I will miss you, Jules" she says, trying not to sound too emotional.
"Thank you."
"For what ?"
Julie smirks, before wrapping her arms around Maro's neck, burying her face on the girl's hair. She then shivers, before saying :
"I left Zach."
"Oh."
"You know I can't follow you in Germany" the blonde continues, whispering in the German's ear. "I have a duty toward this team. I owe that to Becky."
"I know" Maro whispers as well.
The blonde smiles, before facing Maro, as they catch eyes.
"I love you, Dzen. Just know that. You will always be my first love."
Maro smirks.
"I love you too, but you knew that already."
Before the defender can think of escaping the embrace, Maro puts her hand on Julie's back and pulls her against her own body, as they lips softly find their way to each other. After a few soft kisses on the lips, they break the embrace, and Maro opens the car's door.
Julie is here to wave her goodbye, tears running down her cheeks.
"I LOVE YOU" she yells.
But the car is already too far away.
After that, she only walks toward her dorm, her heart feeling empty after the German left. She knows they were never really meant to be : living one ocean apart is not living. So she just let go, and so did Maro.
She shakes her head : here's to new beginnings.

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]
