Shipped Away
I finally did it. I finally pushed my dad over the edge. I mean, it was bound to happen sooner or later, but my hats off to him for lasting so fucking long.
My dad has been threatening to ship me off to military school ever since mum left; i kinda fell out the boat after that happened. Hey you can't blame me, my literal mum walked out on us.
Alas, after the third time having to bail me out of jail in two weeks, good old dad settled for boarding school halfway across the country in london. I honestly don't blame him, but i'm still pissed. I assumed his threats were empty; why would he wanna ship off his only child?
But he did it anyway. So here i am, sat in this fucking massive registration office in Granite Bay Boarding School- the place i will be spending my final year of highschool- waiting for the receptionist to bring me my shit.
I tap my foot on the concrete ground, looking around at the building. This place looks at least a hundred years old. If the ceiling collapses on me at any point during my stay, i promise i'm suing.
I'm craning my neck back to look at more of the architecture when someone says my name. I practically jump out of my skin and almost fall backwards off the chair.
When i regain stability, i scowl up at the culprit who just attempted to murder me, but my scowl fades when i realise it's the receptionist, Flora; she's actually quite sweet if i'm honest.
"Here you go dear," she hands me a briefcase. "This contains everything you'll need: timetable, dorm key, a map of the school etc." I take the briefcase from her hands with an understanding nod. If i have to carry this around i'm gonna throw up. They definitely could have went with a nicer shade of brown.

"Enjoy your day dear, i hope you find everything okay and settle in to Granite Bay nicely." Flora gives me a gentle pat on the shoulder before heading back to her office. Welp, now i'm on my own. I stand up, taking hold of my luggage and straightening out my navy pleated skirt- which is way too short may i add- before starting in the direction of my dorm room.
Everyone is in their first period lesson, so the halls are exceptionally quiet and i enjoy the peace as i take in the decor. I could swear i've literally been transferred to hogwarts. The architecture is actually really beautiful. I'm still staring at a statue of some sort of prince when i walk directly into someones torso.
"Watch where you're fucking going." The voice of the body says, taking a step back. I tilt my head back to look at who i'm speaking to. Damn, this man is tall. His hazel eyes meet mine as he glares down at me. Wait, why are we acting like it's all my fault. What an entitled little--
"As if you didn't see me." I scoff, picking up my suitcase that had fallen to the floor in the process. The boy looks me up and down, to which i make a disgusted face. I adjust the straps of the duffle bag on my shoulder, uncomfortable under his gaze. Okay, this is getting weird.
"You're new." He tilts his head in question. I roll my eyes and make a face as if to say "Duh." The boy smirks slightly in amusement, before returning to his straight face. He rolls his eyes before curving around my stuff and i, continuing on with his journey. What a prick. I go back on route as the peace returns, strolling like i don't have a care in the world.

The girls and boys are dormed separately, for obvious reasons, so i turn into the west wing of the building: Evergreen. The boys are dormed in the east wing (Ravenwood). I can just smell the testosterone seeping out of the east wing already. Ew. I press the button for the third floor when i enter the elevator; there is no way i was gonna take two flights of stairs with all this luggage.
After the four and a half hour drive here from my home in Blackpool, all i would like to do is sleep. I look at my information sheet again. Room 103. I scan the room tags of the third floor. Room 100, Room 101, Ro-- Ah, there. I place my bags on the ground beside my feet and fumble in the hideous briefcase to reveal my room key. Pushing the key in the lock, i twist it open and reveal the place i will be sleeping for the next year of my life.
I take a step inside, pushing my bags along with my feet and take in the interior. It's actually really nice. Considering the rest of the building is ancient, i assumed the bedrooms would be all peeling wallpaper and stuff. But the walls are painted a simplistic magnolia, which happen to be the same colour as the walls of my bedroom back home. I didn't plan on decorating much since i wont be here for that long, but the right hand side of the room is all kitted out. My roommate has probably been here for a while.
I push my bags to the end of my king sized single bed and flop down on it. Welcome to the next three hundred and sixty-five days of your life Jules.

Trapeze (Wattpad Books Edition)
WATTPAD BOOKS EDITIONHow do you trust the ground when all you've known is flight? In this breathtaking debut, Leigh Ansell has created a compelling, heartbreaking, and truly engaging story about a young girl used to flying high only to be faced with living life with her two feet firmly on the ground . . . Seventeen-year-old Corey Ryder can't remember a time when she wasn't gliding through the air of Cirque Mystique's big top. As a trapeze artist in a traveling circus, Corey wakes up every day in a different place, buzzing for the moment she can suspend gravity during the night's performance. When the circus pulls into small-town Sherwood, California, everything seems normal - aside from meeting the exceptionally cute Luke Everett at a local diner. But that night, in the midst of the performance, tragedy strikes and flames overtake the tent. While Corey narrowly escapes, in the ashes of the circus pitch lies the only home she's ever known. Repeatedly thrown out of her comfort zone, Corey must learn how to push toward her future without forgetting her past, what it means to be a daughter to a mother she's never known, and how to navigate the confusing magic of first love, even as she performs the high-wire act of being true to who you really are.

Falling for a Star (Complete)
I had never paid much attention to celebrity gossip or what was going on in Hollywood because that was so far from the lifestyle I lived as a poor college student, working as a barista to save up for my own house after graduation. But then, without my knowledge, my Dad submitted my name into a talk show sweepstakes to win a week with Hollywood superstar Dylan Chase, to see what it's like to live like a celebrity for a week. My Dad thought it would be the perfect chance for me to get out of Iowa, see the world and have an adventure for once. I was dreading leaving home, flying for the first time and going by myself all the way to L.A. Plus the idea of spending a week with an arrogant, rich, snobby actor that was probably the worst kind of womanizer didn't sound like my idea of fun. What I found when I got there and met Dylan was the total opposite; a man that was humble, hard working, easy to talk to, and down to earth. Spending a week in Paradise in the guest house of Dylan Chase's Malibu mansion right on the beach, attending a movie premiere on his arm, shopping on Rodeo Drive and eating at five star restaurants was like a dream come true, but sleeping in his bed and falling for a guy from a completely different world than me was never part of the plan because we could never end up together.
