wendy had six missed calls from her manager who was back in korea.
the group had just finsished performing in japan and she felt a pang of worry hit her as she called her manager back.
her hands were fidgeting as soon as he picked up.
"is everything ok?"
she asked in a shaky voice
"seungwan, could you sit down somewhere? i have some news for you."
"news? what is happening"
"just, please. don't panic, something happened to y/n."
"oh god is she okay"
"she got into an accident, a drunk driver smashed into her car. she⏤"
"which hospital is she in?
i'm coming right now"
"you can't."
the manager sighed
"what do you mean i can't,
i need to⏤"
"she has only a few minutes left."
wendy froze, her eyes already
tearing up.
"please tell me you're
joking"
she sobbed, her breaths
quickening.
"she's in a medically induced coma right now but she won't last long. there's another pacient who died just now, they have the same blood type. there will be a heart transplant. she can save him. i agreed and signed the papers"
"but i didn't fucking agree."
wendy painfully screamed,
wiping her tears away.
"you don't get to decide whether she dies or not."
"listen seungwan, it's already decided. y/n will be saving another life. i'm sorry."
she sniffled
"we were supposed to get married
in a few months, i just⏤"
"i know, im sorry.
the operation will start soon"
the manager spoke up, his voice sad.
"you can listen to her breathe, just don't mind the beeping in the background"
wendy dropped do her knees as soon as she heard y/n's soft breathing coming from the phone speaker.
the manager ended the call as y/n was taken onto the operation table,
he didn't say a word.
and while y/n ceased to breathe and the other members smiled as they finished their show, wendy was stuck in japan; wondering where it all went wrong.
