rain started pouring as y/n

got off of the bus

two stations earlier so she could

walk home in the rain

her dampening clothes started sticking to her body as she let out

her feelings, tears forming in the

corner of her eyes while

taking small steps on the sidewalk

y/n's chin bobbed

up and down

as she cried

and cried

and cried

but, with hesitation she looks up,

eyes meeting with a warm gaze

of a stranger who smiled at her

and offered her jacket

the pair strode together, hand in hand, silence ingulfing them.

the stranger then took y/n to a coffee shop so she wouldn't get sick.

they sat down, and talked for hours

and hours

and hours.

they talked about the future,

they talked about the past,

they talked about today.

but the kind stranger never asked why y/n was crying,

and god did that warm her once frozen heart. for she had

never dreamed of feeling the heat

radiating within her chest.

y/n's parents called, asking her where she was but she ignored them

because she finally felt alive

after feeling dead for so long.

but soon, the stranger left.

without her being able to say thank you, or even give her the jacket back.

and now, she spends her afternoons

in the coffee shop

down the road,

hoping that one day

the kind stranger

will walk in,

and return the feeling

once again.
